We had ordered a tasting kit which had a large variety of food and drinks to try! We had the Cider Tasting Kit with additional add ons, such as the, Apple Tasting Kit, Heirloom Apple Tasting Kit, Odenthal's Jalapeno and Cheddar Beef Sticks, Shepherd's Way Friesago Cheese, Sweetland Orchard Cider Donuts, Sweatband Orchard Farm Bread Picnic Loaf, and the Vikings and Goddesses Apple Carmel Hand Pie's. Kits are available if you place your order at lease 12 hours in advance. If you do not order a kit, there are items available for purchase as well. You are free to roam to roam the orchard and enjoy all there is to offer. The setting was just the perfect spot for fall, with colored trees around and rolling hills. We brought our kit our to the orchard and had a picnic. We brought a quilt to sit on (there are some picnic tables available, but it is probably wise to bring a quilt to lay down to sit on just in case there are no tables available). Everything was incredibly delicious and I am planning to get back there again soon! It is dog friendly! I love when places allow dogs, it is but probably best to bring your dog only if it will not disrupt other guests or the animals that are on site (chickens, pigs, etc.).

We strolled through the apple orchard down the street from the barn. If you are too lazy to walk, they operate tractors also. You can either buy your apples at the store or choose the pick your own apple bag option. There were Haralsons, Fireside and Honeycrisp apples when I was there. It's so much fun to see those red apples hanging in the trees while enjoying the cool breeze and crisp air. The rolling hills in this area is breath taking. It's really a beautiful part of MN that's worth checking out.

The service was excellent once we got through the giant line. There are also a variety of tables and chairs to leverage. The negatives are that the pizza is ordered in one giant line which for us took 1-hour and the tables are hard to snag unless you do in advance. A beeper is provided once ordered and you walk up to claim when the buzzer goes off. I would return just to check out the other areas of the space as the land is gigantic. Contrary, I would probably pass on the pizza experience as once is enough. Parking was easy too which is always a worry for me with a big unpaved lot with lots of signs directing to the right area. I wouldn't call this experience indicative of of Eastsides typical good quality food, so I wont judge too harshly, but I hope this experience wont repeat itself.

I found the 3 6-packs of 7-UP I wanted, but they didn't have A & W to complete my fourth. I went to the Customer service desk for help. Although he wore a Cub employee shirt, he said he didn't work at that station and couldn't help me. This short guy with a man-bun had an extremely poor attitude and didn't even offer to call someone else over. He told me to go to the self checkout. Well, there wasn't anyone there. I waited a while and no one showed up. I had to get the attention of another cashier. He called someone but they were unhelpful, too. If the first guy hadn't been so gruff with me I might have been more patient. I gave up and just bought 4 7-UPs. As I was leaving, a woman showed up and asked if I had a question! This is a poorly run store with obviously not enough staff. I will never go there again.

It's the worst. It's remarkably refreshing whenever I make the trek out to a different Cub to see how nice they can be. Small store, the same 10 employees, doing the same things every day with the same stock, and the same lack of quality control. Produce is spotty at best, if you don't check it like a hawk, it won't just be iffy, it will be fully rotten. The meat, I don't even bother. "Manager's Special" doesn't mean expiring soon, it means it expired last week. The Deli, they must make sandwiches and hold them in the back for 36 hours because I've never seen one that wasn't at least 36 hours old (And spoiler alert, they only really keep for 18 hours) The Bakery is fine but the selection is ALWAYS the same now.. They haven't even bothered to make pies for months. It's like the management team or owner can't be bothered. They must just cash checks with no oversight because nothing ever changes at this place. The one thing that not surprisingly does change? The prices skyrocketing. And I don't just mean the packaged goods that have been inflated beyond believe everywhere in the state, I mean their Deli and Bakery prices now rival Lunds and Byerly's.. Which I don't have to tell anyone is beyond laughable. Cub is a great store.. Chanhassen Cub is a train wreck. Get it together. Let's get some variety going so I don't feel like I'm in Groundhog Day going to this place once a week. Bottom line - If you're shopping for popular box goods that are available anywhere, this cub is as good as any. But if you're going for their Deli, Bakery or Produce, be prepared to be horribly disappointed far more often than should be possible. I actually saw a moldy block of pre-packaged Crystal Farm's Pepper Jack cheese front and center at this place. I had NEVER seen anything like that in my life, but leave it to Chan Cub to make you have to start checking standard boxed/packaged goods. Literally NO quality control at this place and the employees are too often very comfortable with being overly familiar and unprofessional which is a huge indicator of no managerial or ownership oversight. I like the Chef's Special roll (they are actually all called "Chef's Special") with ahi tuna in the middle, wrapped in rice and topped with salmon, with chili and yum yum sauces, thin sliced jalapenos and dabs of sriracha on top. $12.95 Other things to find, there is a freezer near the coffee inventory where you can get frozen dough versions of their pastries, croissants, scones, cinnamon rolls, turnovers and the like.
