Boley Farm on 151st Street in Orland Park is now run by a new person who bought out the old operators, but he just seems to be getting up to speed and the selection wasn't as broad ... hence the search for a new stand ... and I think we found it in Just Picked. We stopped in at Just Picked on 171st Street in Tinley Park on a weekday and they had a very nice selection. We have driven by this place dozens of times over the years but never stopped in ... glad we did this time. While the selection looks relatively small as you drive by, once you stop in and look around you'll be more impressed with the variety and quality. This is an everyday kind of farm stand during the Summer and Fall, and the people running it were very nice. The owner (Tom) grows much of what is sold on his farm just outside Kankakee ... thus you get fresh, local-grown FFV everyday where the stock is refreshed daily. All the FFV ... and oftentimes flowers ... are presented outside under an awning ... the barn is for his work equipment and other stock. If you are in the market for a farm stand, you have to give this place a try.

I was so annoyed while shopping at Pete's Market. I had a very long grocery list. I had lost power…read moreat home due to a severe storm and threw out everything in my freezer & refrigerator. I needed to restock a lot of items including condiments. However, there was an employee walking behind me with a push floor scrubber. Every time I stopped to look at eggs/breakfast foods/bakery items/hot food bar/salad bar/pre-packaged chickens/soup bar/ and cookie/cracker isle.. The employee would shout 'excuse me' with a heavy sigh. I paid for the few items I already had in my cart, left and went across the street to Whole Foods. I couldn't wait for Pete's to open. I heard great things about the hot food & salad bar.. but I didn't have a chance to look at most items. I literally couldn't believe that the employee literally followed me around the store. No, my shoes were not muddy or wet !
