Very pathetic service First of all we are living in 2026 and most all businesses carry two register or pos systems so customer can pay with cash and card, but this businesses has different register one for cash and card and one only for card only they are open at 9 and I am the first customer and I am ready to check out they have two register so cashier said come to other register and that register only work with card and I don't want to use card for two items but I don't know who's that guy or cashier he doesn't care about business he said cash register is not working you have to pay with card I mean i feel like he forcing me to use my card I never seen like that one register for card and one register for cash and card if you not interested to do job than stay at home shut down your business there are many competitors in market read more

I'm so glad I don't have to drive to the north side anymore for certain items, this place is great - thanks Yelp and Google!! Service was excellent, I met the owner today and he was so kind and helpful. I found everything I need to make a dish that I tried 14 years ago but haven't had again because I didn't know the name. It's kanda batata poha - I knew it was a delicate rice dish with potato and all these amazing flavors. Highly recommend Swagat Foods. Oh, and their samosas are excellent! read more

This is a solid Indian grocery store. The produce looked like it was picked the moment before I entered the store. The selection of teas was decent but not as comprehensive as Patel Brothers on Devon. 5 star service. My family has been shopping at this south suburb Indian grocery store for years--it is solid and very well-stocked! As many other reviewers have mentioned, the owner is so friendly and helpful. I wanted to make a tikki recipe that called for dried fenugreek leaves (kastoori methi) and a couple of nearby stores didn't have it. I called Swagat to see if they had it before I made the drive out and the owner immediately said he did--and 2 different brands and in different sizes! Being that it was the day after Christmas I wanted to make sure he was open and the store sure was with regular hours. I was encouraged and went to go pick them up and was impressed with the traffic that was constantly streaming in and out of the parking lot on the steady flow of customers, even on the day after Christmas. As usual, the owner was very nice and appreciative of our business as he thanked us as we checked out. I noticed how kind he was to his staff too. If you're Indian you'll know what I meant to say that this is somewhat rare! The store, like many have mentioned, has such a great selection of everything, and it is organized neatly and cleanly for what looks like a small space. I am always amazed at the huge conveyor belt in the middle of the store for the huge bulk bags of rice that they are constantly bringing into the store. When we checked out, I loved seeing all the deities and the freshly prepared foods. I decided to buy some fresh poha and it was really delicious. My mom has said that they have chicken biryiani sometimes on weekends, which is awesome. I love Swagat and it's very comforting that it's right here in the burbs without needing to go all the way downtown to Devon Ave. Definitely check out this great little Indian grocery store for all your Indian grocery needs! read more

Just went here to pick up henna because honestly nothing pleases my curly hair like a henna mask. I was excited to find such a large selection of several beauty products I was also looking for. I picked up a container of jelebi too. I'll be back for sure when I need to stock up again. read more

I'm not Indian, but started going to Swagat because I do like Indian Food and much of it is vegetarian and gluten free. For a small store, the variety is huge. I'm always finding something new to try. Their selection of spices, grains, flours and nuts is unparalleled in the South s Suburbs. They recently added fresh prepared items made by the best Indian restaurant in Chicago, which are packaged in pint containers and refrigerated - and sell out quickly. The store also has a great selection of quality incense and decorative items. I always buy one or two of the fresh, hot, samosas they have by the cash register to eat on the way to my next stop. read more
