Aldi is always a good decision. Are there drawbacks? No, there are no drawbacks. This Aldi is no exception. Like all Aldis, you will find the lowest food prices anywhere. Yet, the quality is outstanding, which is because Aldi sources its groceries in massive bulk, from the same sources as Osco or WalMart or any other standard grocery. This store, like them all, has a quality guarantee, and they stand by it every time, no questions asked. Also, you will find a small selection of interesting European foods. This location has plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall. The store itself is like most newer stores. What I found interesting is that the location of the produce was literally right at the front door. Not sure who thought that was a good idea as people tend to linger over their produce selections, so I can only imagine what the entrance must look like on a busy day. Got to give them props for beer selection on the day I was there. There was Two Brothers, Revolution Anti Hero, Goose Island 312 and Lagunitas Little Sumpin' (favorites of The Queen and The Doctor). Store was clean and well organized and brightly lit compared to some stores. There were some items they did not have that I see at other stores I go to (the package smoke salmon), but that is not a deal breaker as I know different stores have different items they carry. When I am out this way, this is definitely a store I could stop in as it is off River Road and easy to get back to the highway to head home. read more

The workers at the Aldi in Schiller park are absolutely amazing. The managers are helpful and patient and the staff is friendly and very helpful as well. Convenient, good price, good fresh groceries. Don't really have much else to say. They do have something that I find interesting sometimes, which is that they have a section that they keep updating and changing. They include different items of tools and equipment that can come handy sometimes. The quality isn't the best, so be very careful as to what you buy. read more

ALDI is a highly recommended place to buy all the things you need. They have all the things and stuff that we really need for our daily essentials. This place has a huge variety of produces and they have lots of selection. You can also find some imported products in this place. Even those things that are not easy to find. They also have some brands of items that you can't find at other stores around. ALDI is incredible. All of their items are reasonably priced and so affordable. You can buy anything you want here without breaking your pockets. You can literally save a lot of money here in ALDI. Everything is high-quality and worth buying. This is definitely my new favorite store in this area of Schiller Park. The whole place is welcoming, nice, quiet, and cozy. The ambiance of the interior is really great and relaxing. The only problem is their parking lot, some other customers did not park properly, and they blocked some ways in the parking lot. But still, ALDI is really exceptional! So this is my first time in Aldi in a decade or so. This store is very clean, brightly lit, and everything is very well stocked and organized. I was surprised by how many brand name items there were, as well as very reasonably priced off-brand items. Really, I don't need brand-name pork rinds. Generics will do fine! I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this location. They definitely deserve some recognition! If you're not familiar with Aldi, they're a bit different than the average grocery store. First of all, you have to put a quarter into a little lock attached to the shopping carts in order to take one, which you get back when you return the cart. This may sound inconvenient, but there's a good reason for it. You know how shopping carts always veer to the left or right, or have one wheel coming off the ground, or vibrate annoyingly as you push them? None of that happens at Aldi, because of the quarter deposits. People return their carts at Aldi rather than leaving them around the parking lot, so theydon't get damaged. Another thing is that Aldi doesn't have plastic bags or people to bag your groceries. Again, it may seem like an inconvenience, but this allows them to keep prices down without having to sell lower quality goods. There's a long counter after the checkout registers where you can bag your stuff with either bags you bring from home, or ones that you buy from the store. It's not a big deal once you get used to it. The store itself is well lit and well stocked. There are a lot of generic brand items, but they have some name brand items as well. Prices are always much better than you'll find at other chains like Jewel-Osco, and items (particularly produce) are much fresher than I see at a lot of smaller grocery stores. Sometimes workers will leave a pallet or a box in the aisle, which is annoying, but it doesn't happen any more frequently than at other grocery stores and the aisles are wide enough that you can still get past unless there's a clueless shopper blocking the way. The only other downside to this Aldi (which is the same as all Aldi stores in this regard) is that they only have three registers, and usually only one is open (sometimes two). This can result in kind of long lines, although usually if the line gets really bad they will call for another employee to open another register. However, it's not as bad as it sounds. The cashiers are very quick, partly because they don't do the bagging but also because they are usually experienced adults rather than teenagers (probably because Aldi actually pays its workers a pretty good wage and can keep good workers). So even if there are 3 or 4 people in line, it usually moves pretty fast. Definitely the best place around to shop for groceries. I just wish they'd bring back a couple of seasonal items I haven't seen for a couple years, like this delicious German herb mustard they used to have around October. read more
