Knowing Aldi in Europe, we were pleased to see how clean and neat this location was. Produce was fresh and store well kept. Staff was confident and friendly! Definitely a go-to if you want quality at bargain prices!

This place is completely understaffed and mismanaged. There was a giant snaking checkout line. 30 min wait. I will never comeback.

Lots of space...not much choice. A number of items that I needed were extremely high in sodium (20% - 41%).

Very friendly, gave me prices and sizes, and told me she would take care of me when I got there. I got there about an hour later, didn't tell her it was me on the phone, and STILL got great customer service. Welcomed me to the store, was quick to offer options, I even needed more shrimp than what they had and she went out of her way to go get more and thaw it for me. I went to grab a few extra things and by the time I came back she already had the extra shrimp bagged and tagged, ready to go. She was cleaning, helping, and being friendly, all by herself! Keep up the good work girl! I can tell she loves her job and I love her energy!

They smelled sweet and the petals were the richest reds and pinks and yellows. Something happened. The fragrance started to decline and eventually they had no fragrance at all. The edges of the roses became dark and lifeless and the buds began to droop. Like so many in this community, we are angry to see you aren't tending the roses. You aren'tt teaching the younger workers how to take care of all the flowers that can bring such joy to the elderly in the community like me. You just throw them away and wait for the next batch to take their place. All the beauty is leaving this place and many are scared it won't come back again.

The turkey, while good, wasn't freshly carved, which took a little away from the "special" feel. And while the breakfast sando was light and all alone on the plate, the way the mayo fused the flavors together was delicious. But I do wish the beverage fridge had prices listed so I wasn't surprised at the register. The restaurant, while it's a bit tricky to find on the side of a building, inside is a modern space. It's spotless and very clean. The aesthetic is minimalist and if it were just you, it could feel a bit cold, if not for the steady buzz of activity behind the counter. There were three staff members who moved swiftly. As I watched I was impressed with their efficiency as the kept things running smoothly. When we entered an hour before closing, we made the mistake to sit and pause to look over the menu. It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. Overall, this is a certified foodie stop: quality over quantity: taste over filling up.

They also have a good selection of other breakfast items like hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruits, yogurt parfait, salad and deli lunch sandwiches. Additionally they sell various hot and cold drinks, organic JT coffee beans that they'll grind for you, salty and sweet snacks, California dates and roadrunner t-shirts. Glad I did - the sun is strong even in December! Staff members were friendly and helpful - one person directed me to the sun block. I bought a tube from the Seaweed Bath Co., thinking that it seemed a bit pricey at around $20 but then checked online and saw that it's $19 direct from the manufacturer. I looked around the store and saw some interesting products that I'd never seen before, like mycelium-based bacon (MyBacon). Some items seem overpriced (olive oil) but others (Sappo Hill or Dr. Bronner's soap) are very reasonable. I'm giving Joshua Tree Health Foods 5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Large selection of bulk ingredients, from nuts and flour to herbs and spices. * Almost all of the items stocked in bulk were organic. * When I looked at specific products, like bar soap, the brands in stock were among the most ethical. * A large amount of vegan items on sale such as Nuts for Cheese and Violife dairy. * Inclusive business where all are welcome.

It was well after the lunch rush but it was pleasantly busy. Employees were friendly and checking on patrons, serving food and tending to empty tables. We had been waiting awhile, so I carried our number in with me and made note of the numbers they were delivering... which were higher numbers than ours, but also very random. I went to the cash register and asked the employee if they called the numbers in order. She answered politely that no they didn't. I then mentioned we were sitting outside and asked if I should wait inside for my order so they wouldn't have trouble finding us. We were not in a hurry and were trying to make it easy on the hardworking employees....and bonus that it was cool inside *At that point, a man who I perceived was a manager or maybe even the owner , turned to me from behind the counter, handed me a bag and said " Here Ma'am , GO!" Then turned back around to what he was doing. What? GO? I don't know what his intent was because I'm not a mind reader, but it felt rude and dismissive. His facial expression was as though he was busy and or annoyed. I was so surprised at his response in such an otherwise pleasant environment. I'm pretty tolerant of grumpy people (you know, sometimes there's a reason) but this just felt really icky -it was our intended destination after a hot drive from Phoenix and it did not sit well with us.
