The salmon sando. This was delicious.

A very cute place. This was on our list during our Joshua Tree weekend, and stopped by on our way back to LA. We got the smoked salmon sandwich and the brie and jam on a sourdough roll. Ok. I can't believe I'm gonna say this (because who complains about too much food), but. There was way too much brie. Like, it was a whole brick o' brie in it. Just...too much. I think it would have been perfect with like, half of it. Again, I can't believe I'm complaining about generosity, but there you have it. Hey Luna, trying to save y'all some resources (or something). Otherwise, things were delicious, as expected. Their water container, which I guess has an intricate filtration system, takes a LONG time to filter water after it's filled. We parked on the street, as the parking lot was very small, but there is plenty of street parking. Bathroom is singular, single-stalled, and not gendered.

This place was a recommendation from my friend that we stopped at in Yucca Valley on the way to Joshua Tree. I'm glad we stopped but was surprised by how expensive everything was. The loaf of bread that we got was fresh and delicious and lasted us basically the whole weekend so despite its steep price ($14) I was very glad we got it. They cut it into slices for us there! The sandwiches we ordered were good but not worth over $20 each. I would definitely come back here and try their pastries and other breads the next time we're in Joshua Tree, but unfortunately cannot justify the sandwich prices again. Vibes were cute though and the staff was nice, and I would definitely recommend Luna Bakery for their bread!

The sandwiches at Luna are absolutely massive. It's a small place, perfect for grabbing a sandwich or pastry to take into the park. Sandwiches are available starting at 9am, and everything is handmade in-house in small batches. The super friendly staff greeted us and helped us decide what to order because so many items sounded great. I went with the Ham & Brie with cornichon on ciabatta and it took me almost 3 meals to finish, so I would say aim to share. Just look at my photo, the amount of brie on the sandwich is crazy! You'll see all of the breads and pastries on display and we couldn't resist splitting a slice of the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread as well which was just as awesome. I did notice that the ciabatta bread had little fuzzies stuck all over it, like it had been sitting on a towel, which did put me off a little but I would still come back for the fresh bread and great flavors.

I am a Luna-tic for Luna Sourdough Bakery!!! If in the Joshua Tree area, this is a must stop for amazing breads!!! I am still thinking about their whole wheat focaccia!!! If there is a line out the door, don't hesitate and get in line. It moves pretty fast and is so worth it!! The sourdough comes out later in the day and unfortunately the timing was off for me as we headed out of town (came twice in the same morning, haha), but the whole wheat focaccia was amazing and the bread I didn't know I needed in my life until I had it!! It kept perfect on the trip home and you know it is going to be good when the oils soak the paper bag!! We also got breakfast sammies and an array of pastries! Everything was 10/10 good!!! The employees were amazing and you can tell it is filled with people passionate about that dough!!! Shine on Luna!!! :)

Okay, so Luna Sourdough Bakery is cute, very Pacific Northwest vibes, very "I raise artisan chickens and wear wool socks year-round." The pastries? Solid. The bread? Good. The treatment if you're not a regular? ...interesting. I walked in feeling hopeful and walked out feeling like I needed to submit a résumé just to be recognized. The regulars here get greeted like returning celebrities, hugs, laughs, staff knowing their entire life story. Meanwhile, I'm standing there like a confused extra in the background waiting for someone to hand me my scripted line. Don't get me wrong, the food is tasty. But the "Oh, YOU'RE new here?" energy was strong. I'm not saying they completely ignored me... I'm just saying the croissant got more eye contact than I did. Would I come back? probably noticed But I might need a few more visits before they pretend to know my favorite bread the way they know Susan's, Karen's, and every guy named Todd within a 5-mile radius.

1000000/10. If you ever watched waitress the musical, this is it in real life. It does not get homier and local than this. The staff are all amazing and happy to be there. The owner was very involved with all her customers and I was in absolute awe because she just radiates joy and warmth!! Beyond that, the quality of the food is great as well!! I am a real bread enthusiast and this place has some great bread and pastries. The sandwich!!! This is the first time in my life I have had a perfect smoked salmon to cream cheese to bread ratio. Literally never been done before but they got it figured it out. My boyfriend and I only ordered these 2 things for brunch and we were super full! Would love to come back and try the rest of the menu There's interior and exterior seating. Fantastic place to people watch and really let yourself get absorbed in the area! Wishing this bakery infinite success and joy!!

My friends and I visited Luna for a quick snack/breakfast while visiting Joshua Tree. Luna gets pretty busy, and we had a bit of a wait. The staff are all great and were doing their best though! I ordered the olive flatbread and a lemon tart. I was going to get a sandwich instead, but the wait time for it was pretty long. I'm glad they let me know though! Both were pretty good, though pricey. The olives on the flatbread were great with a nice fresh olive/olive oil flavor. The lemon tart had a nice crust. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seats at the time were all taken, so we opted to sit outside. The street is a bit busy though. Thanks for having us!

A very cordial, pleasant, and kind young lady working there just the other day. A surprisingly lovely glazed donut I might say. But I kept looking around there thinking "in a small town like this how can they even sell enough donuts to keep this joint open but they obviously do". I could think of some simple things that could be added, but I wouldn't want to give away my secrets. All throughout the United States there are donut shops that have the same recipe apparently, not sure how that works? A lot of them are Asian run in the San Francisco area. I always laughed at the signs that would say "Donuts and Chinese Food" before walking in I would always say to myself: "Nothing like a good egg fu yung jelly doughnut"! Yeah, this spot could use a little more hipness for just spending a few dollars on some paint and artwork, etc. there would probably be a line more often. I don't know. I wasn't there on a weekend. Also, the beautiful new laundromat or remodeled laundromat next-door should really be a good revenue source for the hungry laundry goer....... But certainly grab a doughnut. They're very tasty. So keep heading up the road a bit to Joshua Tree as there are many cute little shops in the three block area there which I guess is called downtown Joshua Tree? I really dig all the new modern prefabs that are popping up which appeared to be primarily Airbnb joints(?)- a lot of style man! Yeah, I'll be back. I met some really cool people in that couple of blocks. If you haven't been there then hop in your car and drive up there right now and get yourself a nice little jelly doughnut...... "Thank ya. Thank ya very much".

At 2 bucks and change it was just fine and a fair value. Glass case and pink boxes, you would think that's charming, it's not. The decor is firmly stuck in the 70s but not in that mid century stylish way. The laundromat nexr store was freshened and modernized recently. Some thought and about 15k could offer much needed updates. Don't change your cashier though, she was wonderful.

ANYWAY. We have been here a couple of times - will usually stop by here when we're in Joshua Tree. On Saturdays, there is a Farmer's Market in the parking lot, so it gets pretty crowded. This last time we went, I got an iced strawberry matcha, and my partner got the chai iced tea. Both with almond milk. They still charge a surplus for non-dairy, which feels so 2022. But anyway. The drinks were delicious. We also got an almond croissant, which doesn't look like much, but it was AMAZING. And then the quiches. Oh, the quiches. I had such high hopes for these, especially since we were primed with refreshing drinks and a tasty pastry. These quiches are muffin-sized, perfect for a light meal or a heavier snack, and they look super cute. They will heat them up for you. When we went, they had bacon cheddar and spinach feta. We got one of each. My friends, these were so disappointing. First, no flavor. We asked for ketchup or hot sauce to give it a bit of acid, because it was basically egg all the way through. Solid wall of egg that tasted like the powdered egg you get at one of those corporate conference catered breakfasts. I had one tiny sliver of bacon in mine, and my partner was playing hide and seek with the spinach, and the spinach was winning. The crust itself was rubbery and chewy, not flaky like I would expect a quiche to be. I mean, it was palatable and not super expensive. I'm just not sure if you're selling food, you want it to just be "palatable". Last time, we got a savory veggie pie, and that was pretty good, so they DO have good savory foods. I think the quiches were just a huge miss this time. Bathroom is clean and single-stalled. Parking is easy in the lot, and on Farmer's Market days, I mean, c'mon, it's Joshua Tree, it's not like there isn't space on the streets too.
