Reminds me of the old time butcher store that used to be down the block. This Staters is our go to for every day shopping however... twice in the last month or so we've purchased meats and had to return it due to the stink after getting it home. 1st time was a fresh chicken breast-opened it up to cook for dinner (same day it was purchased) and the smell was so bad I called and talked to the meat manager. He said to bring it back for a replacement. Today I purchased 4 pre wrapped pork chops (Best buy date of 3/20), got them home to freeze them and the smell was extremely horrid, took them back and got refunded. I just don't get it, you could be selling this to people with no sense of smell and they'd most likely get food poisoning . Is it a matter of lack of proper storage or what??? read more

Stater Bros. Market at the east end of Yucca Valley is my regular 'go to' place to shop. It's well stocked with plenty of choices for food, well lit and clean. Over the years I have wanted a particular item such as a seasoning or marinade that the store does not normally carry and I asked the Store Manager about it. He was very pleasant and made no promises but in a few weeks, the store started carrying what I asked for All of the employees are clean and well dressed and always have a smile to give. I love my Stater Bros. and easily give it a 5-Star. read more

Their bakery is terrible! We had a gender reveal, we asked for it to be a small 5 inch cake, the inside frosting to be the color of the gender, and then cover it in white and just write It's a ... They gave us a taller cake but smooshed the lid on it, didn't write the correct wording, and as soon as we got to the car, it started collapsing and had to spread the frosting around bc the color was showing through. I do wish they had more stuff like they do in Whole Foods or Trader Joe's although they have improved in this area over the last umpteen years as well. I got to say I'm extremely disappointment I have to Stater Brothers today I went in to do a little bit of shopping after the holidays not even grabbing that many items and the amount of harassment that I received from the manager or supposed manager Steven was absolutely disgusting today I have a disability and I have a service dog but unfortunately my service dog had broke her leg recently so she is in a splint and until surgery Upon him seeing my dog where we set her down in the cart for two minutes so my daughter can run to grab something this man followed me all the way from the milk and egg section over to the produce section repeatedly asking me what is my disability and why do I have a service animal and what is the service that she is providing for me I expressed to him you're causing me to have an anxiety attack right now and I would appreciate it if you stop and get out of my ass he proceeded to follow me around telling me that I have to grab my dog I proceeded to tell him that I could not grab my dog out of the cart because I am currently pregnant and high risk and I cannot carry anything heavy he proceeded to say what is the disability that you have and why do you have a service dog and did she go to school and has she been trained I cannot believe this guy was so pissed off at the world that he had to take it out on me it is extremely tragic and sad that this world has come to such measures where people are so evil and so ruthless and so disgusting towards other people and to ask me what my disability is that is extremely discouraging why do I need to explain myself to you which I did to him and he still did not leave me alone I tried to tell the manager about it and she said oh just call the corporate number I'm very disappointed Stater Brothers proof of the dog that has a broken leg read more

This store is terrible. I don't know who is running this place but they need to be fired. I was visiting a friend from so i normally don't shop here. But the lack of help and the energy at this store should be investigated. When I came in lanes one, three and seven were open and they had this black girl all by herself alone away from everyone as if they were punishing her. It's supposed to have a team vibe and there's no team when everybody's not talking to each other or trying to help people. Luckily the black girl assisted me. That's not leadership, whatever is going on it looks to be targeting and retaliation against one person. read more

This is by far one of the nicest Stater Brothers markets I have been in now. This store has undergone some major remodeling recently and it is awesome.. Brand new meat counter and seafood case with ready to be cooked meats prepared for your oven or grill. They put in an awesome fresh cut fruit and vegetable station in the produce department. They have fresh made sushi in the deli. This store is seriously on point. The staff is great here. I will gladly drive and extra 2 miles to get to this store over the west side Staters now. read more

Was looking at cakes and the 2 bakery workers were friendly and helpful. They did not have our preferred cake and Leilani (I hope I have her name correct) offered to quickly make a cake. Of course we said yes and when we stopped back, she presented us with a beautiful cake; lots of pretty flowers on top. My husband pronounced it as the best cake ever. When we had a slice it tasted as good as it looked. Nice to be treated special by someone who is great at and likes their job. Made our day!! read more

Stater Brothers Cashier's Fraud Caught On 4.28.2024 I went to Stater Brothers in Yucca Valley (next to the Dollar Store) to get a few items. When I checked out, the woman at cash register 4 short-changed me 10 dollars, which I noticed immediately and told her so. I had given her a 20 dollar bill. She short-changed me 10 dollars ! She knew of course that she had defrauded me and gave me the missing 10 dollars without an argument. Pretended it wasn't a big deal. So, if the customer notices s/he is short-changed, the cashier will give the customer the correct change. If not, she keeps the money she stole. I reported this to the store manager. Evidently, although they have cameras, cashiers dare to steal from suctomers. It is not the first time this happened to me at Stater Brothers. I even quit shopping there for years due to this, but recently I thought I should see if there is an improvement. Nope. So, BEWARE ! Always check your receipt. Inflation is no excuse for crime. If you catch a cashier short-changing you, demand the correct change and tell the manager immediately. Plus, expose the case here on YELP, to warn other consumers. read more

The Irony: We're at the Newer Stater Brothers in Yucca Valley, we go to the meat section and None of the meat guys are wearing gloves or masks... they are grabbing your meat with bare hands and I ask the young kid why they are not wearing anything protective, he's starts to give a chuckle and says "We don't feel we need it" I go to the manger and he says CDC says we don't need masks unless we're sick..... so wait let me see if o got this right .,. You don't require these bare food handlers to wear gloves while handling raw meat and no masks until they show signs of being sick??? So they can spread this shit to us for a week or longer before you know they're sick? Oh boy... I see why this Countries in trouble... and aren't the butchers supposed to wear gloves under normal circumstances to protect cross contamination? read more

This review is in regards to the meat department. The butchers continually grab meat with their bare hands and then place the meat touching the scale. It's pretty gross. When you Shell out 40+ dollars you just don't want to see that. It's an easy fix do some training and refocus this department. For the love of great barbecues. read more

Stater Bros. Markets - The Desert of Food - Grocery Near Me - Yucca Valley, California

After moving back to the desert, I was expecting to miss easy access to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but this Stater Bros location has everything I could possibly need. The store itself is clean and spacious, prices are reasonable, employees are helpful, and they have a good sushi counter which was a very pleasant surprise. I'm taking a moment to write this now though because of how heroically this store is serving the community during the pandemic. It's still clean and employees are still friendly in spite of a rush of anxious shoppers and they go above and beyond to restock overnight as well as make sure everyone has access fairly to high demand goods like bread and toilet paper. These people are putting themselves at risk to support (and calm) their town in an uncertain time and have earned a lifetime customer in me for their efforts. read more

We stopped here to stock up on some groceries when we were staying at an airbnb in the area. I couldn't believe the prices! Coming from LA, this was the most affordable grocery store I think I've ever been to in CA! They had some great prices, including a deal we couldn't pass up on champagne and we ended up getting I think 4 bottles or so. There was a weird smell at one part of the store, but besides that it was a pleasant surprise. read more

Enjoy the selection for fresh produce and fruit, priced fair, The store is well organized and finding items are easily located. I am disabled, have to use scooter, and unable to reach certain items since they are to high and in some cases to low to reach, try to avoid falling when reaching for an item. I remember the grabber pole we had years ago to reach higher located items. I have one at home that I use to reach items in the high cabinets. Not good for heavy canned items or glass items. A call for help light for assistance! I believe manage could come up with a plan enabling disabled or seniors to reach certain items easily. Why can't I order ad sales items online? I have one item that I will complain about, Package lettuce, that is brown, the rule when I worked in produce first in first out. The manager bought out a fresh package lettuce. Usually, this is a pretty good Stater Bros. But every once in awhile, it leaves a lot to be desired. They tend to wait until people are standing in the aisles before opening more registers. Today, though . . . Went in and the place was packed. Nothing wrong with that. When I went to the register, the kid (he acted about 12) was surly and just kind of throwing cold items with hot and/or dry items in my Trader Joe's insulated bags. When I pointed it out to him, his cocky answer was, "well, you have another bag." Got home and, sure enough, cold items with dry items, all mixed together. Surely Stater Bros. does well enough that they can actually 'train' their employees. While they're at it, they might throw in a personalty course or two. To be fair, they do have some great cashiers, and I know they work their butts off. Anyway, bag boy needs to go back to nursery school and start all over. read more

On our way back home from the park we stopped by your store to get a drink for the way, and there the cutest cashier helped us so nice and polite we asked for something and she right away got help for us since she can't leave the register,her name is Nellie after talking to her while getting checked out we found out how much she looks and acts like the girl in the older store found out she's the daughter no wonder her customer service is excellent this little girl was well trained, she definitely did an awesome job plus her smile is just beautiful made our day. read more

This store is poorly managed. If you want to be treated like a human being you should go to the other Staters in town. The cashiers here slow down the line by talking to their favorite customers and then treat you like dirt after you have waited patiently for them. They sigh and grumble if you need them to actually handle cash and so on.... Not nice. This all leads back to management. If the management is doing her or his job the employees know what's expected of them. Set higher standards and the employees may just rise to the challenge. I will think long and hard before I go back to this store again and especially at night. I think any other store in town would give me a better experience. read more
