One of the most fresh acai bowls Ive had in a while. I stopped by here looking for an acai bowl on a warm day, and this place did not disappoint. While there are a ton of pre-made options, I was looking for a more simple bowl so opted to make my own. I got a bowl with strawberries, bananas, kiwi, and mango, and you could tell all the fruit was actually fresh. I also put granola and peanut butter in my bowl. Unlike most places, the peanut butter was drizzled on the top which was a nice surprise. My only suggestion would be to have an option of how much you want drizzled on top since it was a little heavy for my own preference (still delicious). The staff was friendly and even delivered your meal to your table. While there arent a ton of seats inside, we had no issues finding a place to sit, even with another family there. Came in and ordered a couple small bowls to-go, and they were amazing! I love that you can pick 7 different toppings for your bowl and it's included in the cost. They have a huge variety of options that i haven't seen in any other place. I find that the cultural aspect of having more Brazilian toppings makes all the difference. The açaí was the perfect, smooth texture and tasted incredible. The toppings were fresh and delicious as well! My new favorite açaí spot for sure. I visited Alegria Bowls a couple of weeks ago and I was so impressed!! I talked to the owner, who was very kind and welcoming. He told me that all of Alegria's acai is imported directly from Brazil, and it was incredibly fresh - such good flavor! The storefront is small but was full by the time I left - couples, families, individuals, etc. I imagine it will be discovered by the Tufts student population very soon, considering how delicious (and good looking!!) its menu options are. What I ordered: 1. Acai bowl: I got this with several different types of fruit and it was delicious!! A super generous portion of acai and everything was arranged so beautifully. I loved how customizable this choice was - there is certainly something for everyone on their toppings menu! 2. Cookie dough milkshake: This one was UNREAL. It looks like a milkshake from heaven, first of all - and it tasted like one too! I was so impressed by how generously topped it was - with tons of whipped cream, a chocolate chip cookie, caramel, a rolled wafer cookie, etc. This is definitely going to blow up on social media...it looks too good not to!! I went to SURA KBBQQ down the road. It was amazing and had a sweet tooth. So I looked up on yelp to find a new places to try out. I came across Alegria because I am a sucker for açaí bowls. The photos looks amazing like I could taste it through the photo. When I entered the man who helped me was very nice and friendly. I ordered a medium açaí bowl with strawberries only, and he recommended to add powered milk which I did add. I also got a small vanilla frozen with kiwi and manigoonly. The açaí was absolutely the worst flavor of açaí I ever experienced. And the powered milk made it 29x worst. My stomach is bubbling 10 mins after consumption because I didn't wanna waste my money. On the other hand, the frozen yogurt was very basic that I could have made it at home. I spent a total of $33.40 absolutely not worth it. If you are ever in the Lowell, Ma area of Downtown. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ROMEO AND JULIET. Hands down the best açaí, very affordable, and they have amazing pastries, whole plate of meals and more.
