No free samples. You can complain about a flavor if you don't like it (once ordered and paid) and get it replaced, but they throw the original all away. This is their policy and it's fine, just seems wasteful. This also makes it hard to try the unique flavors :( I wouldn't have had an issue (since it's their own policy) but the replacement portion was way smaller. I'm not sure if the staff was having a bad day or not, but it seemed like asking for a replacement flavor was purposefully made uncomfortable to deter you from asking? (P.S. Paying $6 for very little portions plus not having samples of flavors seems counterintuitive.) Also, Horchata is a rice based drink (with its main liquid being milk, water is also added though), so how can that be a vegan option? If they were able to actually have it taste like Horchata (with or without milk) that would've been fine, but it tasted like water + cinnamon. This was the flavor that brought me to this place so I was disappointed :( Overall, I might come back for the Cold Brew and Brown Sugar Vanilla flavors when I want a sweet treat (there are other sweet places for a better price and experience). Came by honeycomb for a post dinner treat after hearing good things about it - it is a cute shop, but my biggest gripe was the no sample policy, while I understand the principle, it does make it hard to commit to a flavor. We ended up getting a guava pastry, flavored ice cream split with jasmine fudge, I enjoyed the flavor of the Jasmine ice cream, but wasn't sure how I felt about it paired with the chocolate and with the guava pastry while I enjoyed the guava flavor, it was a little jarring to have waxy tasting pieces of the pastry mixed in with the ice cream. Very good ice cream. There was about a 25 minute wait out the door on a Friday evening. When I got to the front I quickly realized that they didn't do any samples, making it very hard to choose a flavor. I ended up getting salted caramel crackle and birthday cake with honeycomb bits. Both were very good and the honeycomb bits were smoky and sweet with a great structure. This creamery makes everything from scratch and it reflects in the flavor of the ice cream. Quint ice cream shop between Porter Square and Harvard. Always a line but most fast because they 3 scoopers. The ice cream is homemade so the flavor selection isn't wide but is unique. If you're looking for plain vanilla, strawberry or chocolate this isn't the place for you. But it does give you a great reason to try something new. We tried the Honey Lavender and Strawberry Lemonade and loved both. There isn't a lot of seating so we had to wait for one of the tables up front for a party of 3. Servers were real nice. The artsy aesthetic provides many things to look at, ranging from portraits to plants. Along with the large list of different flavors and options offered on the menu to read through, everything makes the wait go fast. What we got: - matcha lemon (seasonal flavor) ~ a matcha latte with a slight lemon custard aftertaste. Specks of zest included! - cold brew coffee chip ~ hits like a latte. Not too overpowering in coffee. Chocolate chip shavings add a great texture. - banana rum caramel (seasonal) ~ banana-y, not too overpoweringly sweet from the caramel, with a hint of rum. Well balanced. - honey lavender ~ refreshing! Lavender flavor packed a punch with a sweet honey finish - orange olive oil brownie (seasonal) ~ chunks of brownie carries the chocolate flavor well into subtle orange. I came from watching there videos on TikTok for years! I love supporting businesses that use local ingredients and the flavors looked unique! I traveled about an hour just to try their ice cream! I was especially interested in the matcha cone and the Thai tea/coconut soft serve combo that I had seen pictured on Instagram. When I arrived, I was told that they don't allow the soft serve to be served in a cone. That was confusing because they have photos of soft serve in cones on their Instagram page, which felt misleading. I ended up trying the soft serve in a cup along with a kiddie scoop of the matcha lemon flavor. Unfortunately, neither stood out to me. Both the soft serve and hard ice cream melted very quickly, and the matcha lemon tasted much more like lemon than a balanced combination of matcha and lemon. Definitely a unique ice cream parlor. They offer original flavors in which they seem to take their own spin on classics. My boyfriend and I found this place after having dinner nearby. Took me a minute to find my footing with the flavors. Once I asked some questions, I chose the ruby rocky road and the Alfajores. Both were decent but didn't blow me away. While I appreciate originality, sometimes I like the classics too. I wish this place had both. They seem to have different flavors so maybe they do rotate them in and I just missed it. We went to Honeycomb Creamery on a rainy July day which was great because it was empty, seems like based on their signs they get pretty busy in the summer! The flavors are all so interesting and it's nice knowing everything in made in house. I ordered a kiddie size Black Sesame and Raspberry topped with Cookie Dough which was the perfect size because of how rich the flavor was! We also ordered a classic flavor Brown Sugar Vanilla which was a great sweet and creamy vanilla with notes of brown sugar. The homemade rainbow sprinkles were so crunchy and delicious! I've given Honeycomb a few tries because a few of my friends like it and they're popular on TikTok, but honestly the ice cream just isn't that good and very icy each time I've tried it. The owner has explained the no sample policy at length but it's a huge deterrent when there are tons of fun flavors that you can't even try out first before buying and the staff give you so much attitude for asking or not knowing. I saw this place on tiktok and was very intrigued by the unique flavors they offer, so we definitely wanted to stop by. Frankly I was pretty disappointed. First off, they don't let you sample any flavors, which is disappointing especially since they have such unique flavors, and you typically want to sample those before paying $7 for a small scoop of something you might not even enjoy. And with that in mind, I thought the ice cream itself was just okay. I do like that they have unique flavor options, but the texture is quite awful for ice cream. It is very icy and not creamy at all. Also, the lines get really long here even on weekdays, so keep that in mind as well. Returned while in the area for some desert even though it was freezing out haha. Today we got a small, two scoops of honey salted caramel crackle and a small PB fudge crackle with pawpaw lime sherbet. I think the lady's salted caramel crackle one was the best. The peanut butter with fudge bits in there was also yummy! I wasn't too big of a fan personally of the paw paw lime, got mostly lime (which is fine) not enough pawpaw haha. Quite disappointed this time. I remember going last year and having a completely different experience. They had nice artisanal flavors and it was creamy. Yesterday evening I went after dinner and they only had a few flavors - none really special. And they don't allow samples, so I was not able to try one of the more appealing vegan flavors. The ice cream was not super creamy (a little icy) and it started melting as soon as I got it. Had to finish it within the next few minutes because it pretty much melted and the cone crumbled into pieces. There is always a line so that's normal as the space is decently small and people recommend coming here. I will say I understand that it is also the first week of college schools so that may also add to the line. I think they had an off day when I visited. This shop was highly recommended to me by a trusted ice cream enthusiast. I took a look online before arriving at 7pm on a Tuesday and knew there would be a good chance of the popular sweet corn and berry flavor being sold out, but decided to try other flavors too. When we arrived the sweet corn flavor was sold out, as was the cornbread sundae, both of which sounded incredible. Line wasn't bad, prices were not shocking, servers were nice. Not much seating available but the interior is very cute and there is free water and they only use compostable disposable products which was a plus. The reason it flopped that day was this: The blueberry maple flavor was great, very tasty, but I was confused in trying to determine where the s'mores flavor was. I found some chunks of graham crackers but the masrshmallow and chocolate flavors were very lacking. I bet the S'mores taco Tuesday special would have tasted more s'mores-like. The peanut butter chocolate ripple was freezerburnt and had a crystally texture, and honestly didn't have a noticeably full flavor either. Hence why I was confused where s'mores was and where peanut butter chocolate fudge ripple began. It was ice cream, and ice cream is good. But when the maple blueberry blows my mind the other two flavors were disappointing. The homemade fudge was AMAZING. The whipped cream was ample! read more

We had a ton of fun participating in the corn on the cob coloring page competition, and enjoying our sweet treats. The service here is vivacious and great! My girlfriend got a small PB&J ice cream cup with hot fudge on it, she liked it a lot and was eager to try new flavors next time. I wasn't feeling ice cream so I gave into the peach tea, but I wasn't a huge fan. It was super concentrated and not that sweet, it was like a thick apple cider consistency.
