Because I had also stocked up at the other market in Tacoma, I noticed similarities in the product availability. However, I was able to find other things of interest especially in the smoked meats, condiments, chocolates, and biscuits areas. I enjoyed looking closely at their wine and spirits section...unique labels I would not find at my usual Ravenna wine shop in Seattle. My family and I have not experienced anything close to that at this store. Both the men and women were very helpful, let me admire their produce and culture (even let me take pictures and videos) & eagerly answered the few questions I did have. We had such an enjoyable experience that we came back the next day to buy more food & sweet treats. In regard to the ambiance, this grocery store isn't the biggest by any means. It's about the size of a NY bodega/convenience store, so don't expect to be able to find any and everything you usually can at other places. However their produce is fresh & all the meat, cheese and dessert products we have tried were all very good (certainly much healthier than the preservative and filler packed foods you'll find at your local WalMart, QFC, etc). I thoroughly enjoyed my first European market experience & can't wait to come back, as well as visit other stores.

I was not sure if this was place to check out by donation or for a cost, but was excited to see that it was free of charge. It's a quick stop off and you can totally check it out spur of the moment like me if you are on your way to or from something else. This is located in an alley near Hoyt and Hewitt, kind of close to Cafe Wylde. Its not incredibly large, but there is a lot to check out in a small space. I am a lover of unusual food products and this was right up my alley, haha. There were many cool things to check out, I could certainly have spent more time but was on my way elsewhere. The person behind it all was very nice and shared how this place came to be. I even got some tips on how to find my own unique foods in the future. Best of all he had a few unique products for sale and I came away with some fun treats to try later, including a hot tamale bath product.
