KFRESH YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! Everytime I go to Everett, I rejoice because it means I get to have the yummiest *quick* bibimbap in the area. Whole place is gluten free and dairy free- no exceptions! This is awesome for me because I can eat anything there and don't need a special menu. They even have 4-5 fake meats that are gf which is impressive. The coconut vegan chicken is really good. They have so many awesome toppings. Don't overlook the zucchini- it cooks into the dish so well. I usually get it in the hot stone dish because I like how it crisps up the rice, but then I have to take it to go because it's a HUGE serving. That amount of protein and veggies for $15 is so iconic. They bring you sauce to the table and you can use as much as you want. So many choices tooo! To go boxes are usually needed, and they make great leftovers. Ample street parking, super kind staff. I seriously always have the best interactions with their staff. Looking out at the water (teeny water view) with a hot bibimbap is good for the soul. read more

Some items precooked were bland such as chicken, or lacking texture such as spinach and Bean sprouts. The taste primarily from sauces squeezed onto the finished bowl. A great way to explain this place is a chipotle for Korean food! So it is a pretty laid back establishment :) Overall the food was definitely very fresh and pretty tasty. If you have not given this place a try, GO NOW! As most the reviews state this was a winner due to the Gluten free options. Actual Celiac friendly options. It is criminal what is in our food. Kfresh was great from the start.Three of us walked in as newbies said from the start we have no clue. The owner showed us our choices told us where to start and helped us with recommendations as we chose. We all went with two proteins, white rice, glass noodles, and then our veggies all varied. We ordered hot bowls. They build them, cook them, and bring the bowls to you when hot and ready. As mentioned the restaurant is a bit small but it never felt cramped. My only suggestion is organizing all the "stuff" in the side, kitchen and back part of the restaurant. I would say if you're looking for cleanliness, this could be off putting. This was a cozy little family-run place with excellent food. I ordered the beef Bulgogi bowl with the hot stone bowl to eat at the establishment. It was excellent. It was a good sized portion that filled me up, and I had no complaints about any component in my dish. The family serving there was very friendly and kind. Ordered takeout from K Fresh while at the nearby hospital. The online ordering was easy, and I loved that you get to select so many options for toppings (up to 5!). Kind of like Chipotle but for Korean food! Ingredients tasted fresh, and for $13, the portion size is very generous and filling. Only downside was that some toppings were far too salty for me, like the shiitake mushrooms and even the marinade on the honey glazed chicken. Aaaah YESSS I 100 percent endorse and recommend this fantastic Korean bowl-concept restaurant (very vegetarian-friendly). It exudes the charm of a small Korean mom-and-pop cafe and its setting amidst former industrial/port businesses and taverns on a side street heading towards the water makes it all the more unique. It you want to get away from machine-like fast food and get a much healthier, tastier, artisanally hand-crafted fast food, then you will not want to miss K Fresh. I had their "hot stone bibimbap" and loved the choices of meats (Vegan Beef? YESSS!), brown/white rice, and exquisite Korean cooked side vegetables as toppings. I chose kimchi (fermented cabbage), spinach, meaty shitake mushrooms, spiced cucumber mix. The bowl was made up in an assembly line fashion, then taken to the magic in the back kitchen, and presented to me on the table in a safe-wood frame, because the stone bowl was HOT! What sets this place apart from other "vegan bowls" is that each element of the toppings is cooked in traditional style. Other modern American vegan bowls seem thrown together for their eye candy value--for color--while the components are barely seasoned or cured. Here, the components are cooked with reference to centuries of cultural practice, and the bowl thus opens a window into unique place-based cultural adaptation of food to climate, nutritional needs, taste palates, and seasonal ingredient availability. Viva Korea! At the tables various sauces are set out, to dress the bibimbap, helpfully labeled for spice tolerance. I wanted to love this place. My family enjoyed their food and the hot bowl bulgogi. Although the place is listed as a dedicated gluten free facility, in my 30 minutes in the store, I saw the two employees who cook and serve food eat a store-bought scone that was gluten containing and toast French bread on the grill top where food is cooked. These were clearly gluten-containing items that, while not sold commercially, could certainly cause cross contamination for people with celiac disease. There was also a grocery store bakery box with chocolate chip cookies in it that was not the type that could be mistaken for gluten free. While I think people who choose gluten free for lifestyle choices would enjoy their meal, I did not feel safe eating the food that was served to me just as the gluten toast was coming off of the grill where the supposedly gluten free food was cooked. They seem like lovely people, and they assured me before I ordered that the food was completely gluten free. That being said, celiacs beware. read more

I'm not sure how I haven't posted a review for K Fresh yet!! I LOVE it. They have the best bibimbap choices I've ever seen on a menu. PS if you're a bibimbap place and you don't have caramelized onions+cabbage on your menu or vegan options aside from some bland, unseasoned tofu, please DO BETTER. Anyway, back to this lovely place, there are multiple vegan "meat" options that always taste amazing (my favorite is vegan beef), plus a couple chicken options and a beef bulgogi option that one of my family members always chooses. They have fresh, vegan house-made kimchi (I once accidentally tried poisoning my shellfish-allergic family with traditional non-vegan kimchi, and I do not recommend it ). There are different base options, including cauliflower rice(!!!), for those hating life after being told by their doctor to eat fewer carbs ‍. And for those not avoiding carbs, there's a Korean potato salad and vegan milkshakes -- both amazing. The folks who own the place are wonderful, super kind and fast service! And I also love that I can order online to pick it up whenever I happen to be in Everett. And, seriously, I will choose this gem 9/10 times I'm in town. I've only had the hot bowl once and it's great, but I don't mind my hot rice(or cauliflower) and meat with cold toppings and I definitely don't mind enough to pay extra for it to be hot. I'd heard good things about this spot and finally drove up. It's a really neat little cafe in a sleepy part of downtown off towards the western edge. It's also a short walk to Skagit Valley Co op so already we get a location bonus. Inside is really minimalist & simple yet pleasantly bright. I grabbed a hot stone BYOB (build your own bowl) for a vegan option. They use Wholesome Provisions' plant-based fake meats and they're really good. Great texture, flavor vessel and simple wholesome ingredients. Super decent list of topping options and sauces. Nice little seating area. I wish the sauce condiments fit inside their bins a bit better and had flavor labels. Their soft-serve ice cream (that happens to be vegan) sounds delightful. I'm not a fan of coconut milk anymore but instead of 100% that, they use a mix with soy milk so I may grab a treat next time for that soy edge. She did offer me a free small sample later when I finished eating so that was really cool. For staff, I think it was just the owner lady up front that day. She seemed a bit too soft-spoken for me but turned out quite friendly and even showed me the vegan product they used (plus that sample). Overall really neat spot. Much too far of a drive for me but worth a nice trip on occasion to mix things up. read more

In a city full of average teriyaki, it's appreciated to have an alternative. I love the honey glazed chicken, cucumber salad, kimchi, edame over brown rice, or greens if I'm needing something lighter. You get plenty of food for a reasonable price, really almost two meals. I cannot say enough good things about K Fresh. Everything I have tried from there has been absolutely DELICIOUS and the owners are the friendliest people ever. The build your own bibimbap plus a milk shake is my go-to and it never disappoints. Flavor packed and good value.
