I went to Alessio's cafe with my sister and nephew for a walk and to pick up a tasty treat. I ordered myself an iced latte and a croissant to share with my sister. The service was good, it was a pretty busy time when we went but overall the service was still good. My nephew ordered a cheesecake and a lemonade and he enjoyed both and was happy enjoying himself a tasty treat after walking for quite a bit. We waited a little bit but no big deal we understood that it was busy during prime breakfast time. The ambiance is chill and calm. Great small coffee shop in Jersey City. 10/10 recommendation.

I love this place, the people are kind and easy to talk to, the food is great, and the atmosphere is a nice place to relax & eat. I love that they serve breakfast all day, and have a very vast and creative menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

I wasn't expecting this little sandwich shop when we walked by, but when I saw the menu from the outside I couldn't resist stopping in. They have a very fun breakfast sanding menu - a lot of different aioli options, like cilantro aioli, chipotle aioli (I love aioli) and a plethora of breakfast sandwiches, much more than the typical. We chose the Hoboken Girl that had avocado, cheddar, egg, hash brown, and cilantro aioli. It was a massive sandwich and about $15. We shared it and I'm glad we did. We sat outside and had our dog with us - when they realized they brought him a little pup cup. So sweet!

The OG Hoboboken Alessio's was always such a great stop when I found myself in the area. And their little kiosk style addition to Pier A made that little park sooooo much better! Seriously, the only thing that could make sitting out by the water on a sunny weekend day is gelato or iced coffee. But now, they've made their way to The Heights! The new shop has a few tables inside and two outside. They are right on Franklin and I'm happy to report they are just as cute as their original. I stopped by on a walk with my pup (who was also welcomed in) and resisted all of the baked treats and pizzas and got myself an oat milk latte. Delicioso! This review is currently just for the coffee but the full menu looked great so I cannot wait to stop by for breakfast or lunch soon. They also let me know that they plan to bring gelato to this location too, so you know I will be a regular. Welcome to The Heights!

I come here more often then i'd like to admit; it is my new weekend go to for breakfast. I like the omelettes (great breakfast potatoes) and the egg sandwiches the best. I thought the avocado toast was a little on the small size and i wouldnt order it again. I like the fries. I haven't tried the pizza or pasta yet. Their panini are only okay in my opinion, need to be toasted and pressed more. Good coffee options and they have pastries too which I have yet to try. The neighborhood need a spot like Alessio's, because while there are a few nearby similar options (Choco Pain, Froth on Franklin), you can't pick-up with your dog which is a big obstacle for me. I also like that you can order from their website.

This is a local cafe with locations in The heights JC and Hoboken. I decided to try out their iced coffee and pistachio croissant, the servers are friendly and the atmosphere is good but the place is small overall. Coming to the food, the iced coffee was well.. just iced coffee. Actually I thought that it would be a latte but instead it turned out to be black coffee! The pistachio croissant was okay, the flakiness was good but the cream could have been better. Overall a decent experience.

Had 2 BLT evolutions, 2 coffees, an egg & cheese and a bottle of water. 40 bucks, didn't think that was too outrageous (to each their own though, could see that being alittle pricey). All three were bread heavy, the BLTs had a single strip of bacon (wtf?) Might give them a shot again but not in the near future, wouldn't recommend outside of the coffee. Nice decor and workers but portions need to be reviewed for sure.

Chicken Caesar salad

I've been here a couple times and always have good food. This time I got the chicken Caesar salad and the vesuvio panini. The salad came with the dressing on the side so it wouldnt get soggy which is appreciated. The panini was supposed to have prosciutto on it but it was forgotten. The biggest gripe on this place is the price. $16 for a panini with no sides is a little steep and then when it is missing some of the ingredients it makes it worse unfortunately. A place I will stop in every so often but not somewhere I come all the time

Empty bag.

No real words. I was delivered an empty bag. It was still sealed and stabled so clearly prepared empty by the restaurant. Just to steal money without doing work or wasting food to give to customers.

I have to come here more often. This is maybe 3rd or 4th time and each time has been an absolute hit. We've had breakfast sandwiches and coffee before, and today we tried the lunch. Wow just wow - these sandwiches were sooo delicious. Everything about them was great .... Fresh ingredients, great bread ...and the mozzarella was fresh & melted, YUM! Friendly service & great ambiance. So happy with this addition to The Heights!! Keep up the great work guys, thank you.

Hilarious

This is a grilled cheese for $12. Does that look right to you? Feels like I was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight.

Please move your large unnecessary signage and bikes so kids can walk on the sidewalk. Oh yeah... food is overpriced.

This is a niche, even unassuming, option on the menu, but the ingredients alone are intriguing and suit my taste perfectly. The pizza was baked to order and eaten fresh; the heat and smoky aroma were satisfying. The crust was thin, yet still achieved a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. A thin layer of cheese provided just the right amount of creaminess; the Brussels sprouts offered a subtle yet rich flavor, while the salty umami of the marinated anchovies occasionally shined and, accompanied by a very subtle hint of brinyness - seafood lovers will appreciate it. A squeeze of lemon juice brought a refreshing twist to the pizza, making it a perfect accompaniment to seafood. However, a touch of lemon was recommended; otherwise, the acidity will overwhelm all the layers of flavor.

Around the corner and there is more seating there. I made a reservation and they honored it even though we were about 45 mins late, (oops!) but I completely appreciate them getting us in. We ordered kale salad, and garbanzo beans to start and meatballs then a margherita pizza.... everything was delicious and fresh. The quality was def there! My only complaint is the tight spaces , you're all up in each others spaces but it's not all bad. Also we ordered our kids Shirley temples and they charged us for "mocktails" meaning they were $7 each! For some sprite and a few cherrie?! Excessive! You've been warned lol. Try this place when you're in JC!

If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS
