    Mango pistachio Brulé French toast
    Julia L.

Oh my gosh this place was so good and probably one of the top places I've ever eaten. I'm drooling just writing this. First off, the interior and attention to detail is so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Ambiance was so relaxing and just my vibe. I got the watermelon and mint juice, huevos rancheros, polenta fries, and mango pistachio Brulé French toast. Everything was 10/10! Watermelon and mint juice - so refreshing, great way to start off the morning. I just added a small lemon slice to add a bit of brightness to the drink, but great as is. Huevos rancheros - the corn tortilla was super crispy. Everything blended beautifully. We did ask for hot sauce like Tapatio or Cholula, but I guess they don't carry this and gave us more Verde salsa instead. No worries, I think it speaks volume that this place prides itself in giving guests condiments they specially made from scratch! Polenta fries - so crispy so good. Underneath the fries is some sort of sauce with horseradish. It's hard to explain. Just know that this was really good lol. Mango pistachio Brulé French toast - I am more of a savory breakfast type of person but something about this stood out to me so I decided to try it and don't regret it one bit. The mango purée and the French toast was like a perfect blend of something fresh with something super carb heavy. Aesthetically, I haven't seen anything like this, and it was just something beautiful and magically created. There's not many places where I'm just in awe of the food and also not many places where I think the price and the quality of the food matches as well. I am so glad I was able to try out this place and will always look forward to eating here again!

So many fresh yummy pastries To choose from

If you're ever in the New Jersey area while not wanting to dine in the hustle and bustle of New York City while looking for a quality family-owned and operated brunch spot, look no further because "Vale's Kafe & Kitchen" will absolutely have you covered. Located directly on the corner of Kerrigan Ave and 22nd St in the heart of Union CIty NJ, this place has been serving up some delicious breakfast favorites dating back to the spring of 2023. I came here for the very first time during the morning of Thursday 10/9/2025 at around 10:30am. The interior of this place is adorable yet a little on the smaller side. Keep in mind that tables can fill up quickly, especially on the busier weekend days. What made this location absolutely perfect is that our Airbnb rental was literally right next door to this amazing gem of a restaurant. Once seated, we were immediately given menus and a carafe of iced water. I must say that our server was absolutely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I ordered an iced latte while my lady ordered a hot latte. Both our drinks come out in just a couple minutes and included a side of brown sugar cubes in a jar. I will say that their coffee was amazing on every level. Now onto the food... I went with the "Prosciutto Benedict" that included a side salad. She went with their "Chorizo Omelette" which also included the salad. One really great thing about this small business is that they are much more health-conscious than many breakfast/brunch spots I've been to. Instead of the typical breakfast potatoes, hash browns, etc., this place focuses more on portion control to those wishing to watch their calories. Once both of our breakfast platters arrive, they were presented beautifully to a point where it was too nice to eat. My benedict was made to absolute perfection while she praised her chorizo omelette. Both of these dishes were a 5/5. All in all, "Vale's Kafe & Kitchen" is the real deal and absolutely exceeded my expectations. They carry a ton of breakfast options as well as a nice pastry selection and even a few lunch items. Business hours (as of late-2025) are Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm and weekends from 9am-4pm. Exceptional service, great relaxed environment, decent prices, and mouth-watering food is what this place represents. Vale's earns a unanimous five star rating from me; it is that good!

Fantastic little corner breakfast place. Everything was freshly made and tasted delicious . I had the latte with oat milk and they actually made a coffee that tastes like coffee and not all milky! The lemon ricotta waffle w/ caramelized peaches were delicious just a hint of lemon! My kiddo loved the pesto linguini creamy goodness. We also got the chorizo sausage omelette, avocado toast and spring omelette- all delicious ! Extremely good service and fantastic decor. Parking may be hard to get, but just drive around, you should get something!

Service - Sosa was amazing, greeted me with a big smile. That set the tone immediately. I assumed he was the owner because I could tell he cared about the service so much. I hope the owners compensate him well! Ambiance - I went in around 1:30pm, so the place wasn't crowded. Music was a little loud for my liking but that could be due to the place being not as crowded at the time. The plants definitely elevated this place and added to the quaintness. Food- The avocado toast with salmon added was not only gorgeous to look at but also delicious! Eggs were cooked to my liking. Decent drip coffee.

Great neighborhood spot for brunch! We've tried a few dishes on about 3 visits. They are consistently tasty and beautifully plated. So colorful! The coffee is ok. The food is the real winner. I look forward to having some do their lunch options. The seats aren't the most comfortable but nothing that would keep us from coming back.

Came here April 2025 and ordered a medium rare beef burger and it was delicious, and portion might have been smaller than expected due to shrinkflation, and its expected due to inflationary conditions that we are living now. Loved how my burger was cooked and tasted. The server was attentive, helpful, and super friendly. Will definitely come back again in the future : )

Very good brunch spot in Union city. You won't find many of these types of places here! The food took a long time to come out, but was delicious when it did. Very low prices. I would recommend all of the dishes in the pictures. They do a good job of presentation as well!

Finally got a chance to eat here. The lattes (chai for me) were so tasty!!! We had the eggs ben, avocado toast, and had to have the churro waffles. Service was friendly and the place is very clean. Highly recommend!

Been here 3x and every time was delicious ! The service is excellent- they dont rush you and are very accommodating. Today i had the baked eggs and a side of smashed potatoes.

Staff was uber nice. I got the steak and eggs, and omg, hands down, the best tasting steak and eggs ever. Everywhere else I've tried, steak would be under seasoned or just dry AF, at VALE'S KAFE, to die for, esp with the chimichurri. YUM!! My mom had the prosciutto benedict, she loved hers as well. The plating was beautiful. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I'd definitely go back!!

    Steak & Egg Shashuka

A fantastic spot that's been quietly growing in popularity over the past few years--a true gem in union city. The staff and owner are always warm and welcoming, and you're greeted with genuine kindness the moment you walk in. It's a small, cozy place that invites you to slow down and enjoy your meal--it's not meant for a rushed visit. The food is consistently delicious, with thoughtful presentation and clear attention to detail. You can tell they care about both quality and experience. Some of my favorite dishes include the seasonal shakshuka in the fall (highly recommend), the steak and eggs (a go-to), the smoked salmon dish, and the French toast. All great options. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed, delicious meal in a welcoming atmosphere

Prosciutto Benedict Winter Waffles Bacon Truffle smashed potatoes
    Melissa R.

Great service and food! Cute little spot that has sort of a mix of modern coffee shop and restaurant feel to it. I had the prosciutto eggs Benedict and truffle smashed potatoes - both very delicious and flavorful (a bit salty on the Benedict but I prefer that over bland). The truffle smashed potatoes were perfectly crisp and delicious! Love the salsa on the side too that gives you a mild heat. My son really enjoyed his churro waffles with caramel sauce and side of bacon. We'd definitely come back again, soon!

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

However, I recently met a friend for coffee and found my giant, dine-in mug of cappuccino with almond milk reasonable at its ~$6.50 cost. My drink was creamy, rich, and delicious. I was also thrilled that we were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon, though we both found the service inconsistent, as it went from overbearing to avoidant. However, it was still friendly and not something that would prevent me from returning. Overall, Bluestone Lane's cozy cafe atmosphere and tasty beverages made it a great place to grab a brew.
