I had the best beachside massage here from Victoria. The main location of the spa and salon is at the hotel, Marriott Kaua'i Beach Club, where you check in, sign a COVID waiver, and pay; then the location for the massage is in the green tents right on the beach, overlooking the cove. There are two massage tables in each tent. All I told her was I would like a lot of pressure on my stress areas (neck, back and shoulders), and the massage was perfect - enough time on my stress areas and also full body. I never had to say anything, which says a lot about how skilled she is. The massage cream / oil was a good texture, not overly oily like some places! And they give you plenty of time after the massage to relax and get dressed again. We were not rushed afterwards at all. The massage is so relaxing because you just hear the ocean the whole time - it's a quiet area and people aren't super loud. It was so relaxing - I almost fell asleep. We booked late afternoon, right before dinner, and it was a great way to wind down the day. It wasn't to hot. Not until the next day I found some large raised lumps and raw skin as if I had gotten some blisters and a infection. The Pandemic left me a ragged soul: Unkempt and forlorn in the ways of spa treatments, nails long, and muscles in need of deep tissue attention. I visit Kauai as often as I can and because of my personal state, I decided to make my way to Alexander Day Spa...and Wow! The massage I received was top draw, in fact, I'm kicking myself for not getting an 80-minute massage! By the time I was finished, I could feel the stress leave my body and wondered why I waited so long to get one. Furthermore, the Mani-Pedi I received put me back in fighting spirit (or rather cleaned me up), attending to nails that went from looking like a Werewolf to a human being. Brooke did an amazing massage, her deep pressure and slow tempo was super relaxing. She worked on a few different pressure points on my traps that had tension and melted it away. I appreciated how she would check on me and ask me how the pressure is. I've had plenty of massages and sometimes it feels weird to say something but when they ask you it makes everything so much better. I would definitely come back and ask for Brooke again! She was very kind and methodical in her work. Five star massage, only one thing wish they had was a little floor mat/towel when you undress and go on the table the tile floor is super cold. Best custom facial ever with ALISA! She was so gentle, so friendly, and just had the best experience. On my honeymoon and she made me feel extremely relaxed and pampered! Also had a shampoo/blowout done by Jennifer at the salon and she was excellent. My wedding was just a few days ago so it was dirty and I have hand tied beaded extensions - and I absolutely hate having to blow dry them, so I decided to book the appointment. After reading the reviews, this confirms my feelings. It is clear this "spa" (it's not an actual spa - no showers or area to relax) really only caters to tourists. I got a gift card previously and wanted to treat myself for my Birthday with my friend I rarely get to see, as I work full time and am a full time student and mom. I RARELY get time for myself. My facial was AMAZING... and I wish I would have stopped there... But I had a dial pedicure scheduled with my friend. It was the worse pedicure I've ever had. I had remnants of gel polish on my toes to which the manicurist sawed off with a Emory board cutting my toes and I was flinching non stop. Then she rushed the pedicure complaining about not wanting to listen to us gossip and that's why she works at this spa and now an ordinary nail place. One where locals would go, clearly. I didn't even realize I was finished because I never got a massage or anything. Until I walked out seeing her working on some tourists manicure.... Like, ummm ok?! It's my birthday and this was a total waste. This pedicure was way more expensive than anywhere else I ever go where I get gel polish, and my toes looked terrible. My skin was bleeding as I walked out. I will NEVER make the mistake of getting a pedicure ever again here. It was the biggest waste of my time; and I left having to pay extra for gel polish removal and having sore toes for almost a week. They had already added in gratuity for this service I really would not have done, nor was I ok with. When I went to speak to the receptionist about leaving MORE of a tip for the facialist she insisted I needed to pay $30 more for 4 total toes that had a little gel polish left on them. What a joke. Seriously. This is NOT a spa. I was under the impression we would be having a "spa day" based on their website and prices. When in fact, it isn't. The place is broke up into 2 areas. With no common area to hang out or relax... no showers or changing area after you get a massage. The pedicure took less than an hour and not once was I offered water, or anything. And I made it clear it was my Birthday. She didn't even put a clear coat on the polish. It looked terrible. It's so clear this is just a tourist trap... next time I will book at the Grand Hyatt and spend the entire day there relaxing and being welcomed as a local who always tips my service workers exceptionally well. read more

My facialist Mele was wonderful and for only doing this for a year out of school was on point. She has the light professional touch using high quality products = a happy face . But about my massage... her name is Stacey and all i can say is she was ahhhhmazing!!! Stacey knows what you need before you even know it. All she asked me is what pressure i preferred and done. She delivered the best massage i have had in my life. It's like she knew my body better than I do. I have no idea how she anticipated my needs and delivered to perfection. I wouldn't really call it a spa. Just a room for massage. No changing room. I asked for more pressure during my massage, and quite honestly felt like I was getting a massage from a 5yr old. The massage therapist was very nice, but still after asking for more pressure, nothing!! I feel like when you call to book they should ask you if you like a lot of pressure to assure you are with the right therapist. And I'm sure there are people that don't care for a lot of pressure, but I told her that I wanted more. She never asked me again if it was enough after I told her that I wanted more. After spending $265 I am completely disappointed, I wouldn't even waste my time if they gave me a free one. This was seriously the best massage of my life! Lauren was fantastic. Definitely opt in for the Oceanside cabanas, it was divine. Hearing the ocean waves crashing against the shores is so tranquil & peaceful. Back to my masseuse, did I mention how fantastic she was? I made the mistake of assuming it would be a good one with all of the knots getting worked out of my back and shoulders but it was really just a VERY light skin rub with a few moments of thinking it would get better. I don't think the lady who did my massage was very experience. I told her to not touch my neck because I have stenosis that presses a nerve so that must have scared her. It was a relaxing environment and the table was comfortable and warm but it's my fault for not telling her to massage me medium and not extra light. I'm usually a good tipper but she only got a fraction of my normal generosity since I felt she wasn't very good. I don't remember her name nor do I want to. Even thought I should have said something, I should have received a decent massage for 50 minutes. The best massage and facial! We started our morning with a couples massage by the ocean. Les massaged me and my husband had Rey. Wow! These guys need to teach because it was amazing... and it was not just because it happened by the ocean! My husband did not complain about the price after the experience. ( the only thing I would suggest is giving guests a bottle of water afterwards) Erin was the person who was responsible for my facial. USUALLY, I am left under the steam machine for 10 min. OR 10 min alone for my mask to do it's job. NOT the case with Erin. She massaged my arms and neck area while we waited. Therefore truly getting the time paid for. Wowzers!! I accidentally got this trip (flight attendant life) and was killing time on my layover. Sore body and non-flip flop worthy feet demanded massage and pedi so I indulged!! Full disclosure I am a massage therapist and when I lay down on a massage table in a vacation like setting I usually lower the bar to "fancy overpriced lotion application" level ....completely unnecessary in this situation!! Lori and her expert hands honed in on some well covered up areas I had long put out of my mind, bravo!! When I stumbled out of the room when she was done, I remarked that she is a gem in a resort like this, I have never enjoyed a vacay massage so much!! To then I turned my attention to the piggies as winter time, state side still dwelled in my shoes!! She asked me if there were any specific spots I wanted to focus on and I told her my back, neck, and arms because I'm a server back home. I was so impressed with her -I could tell that each touch and movement was calculated so she could work out all of my knots. This review is for massage therapist Ray who did an excellent, 5star job loosening up tight shoulders and neck with light to medium pressure. I get massages frequently (here and other places) for chronically tight neck/shoulder muscles and usually prefer deep tissue. I was utterly amazed at how Ray could relax those muscles with minimal pressure. My review is only four stars because this is a hotel spa and the prices are on the higher end. That said, compared to other hotel spas, they are the best price if you get the right therapist. read more
