STAY AWAY! I was denied service because I had my Cardiac Alert dog with me. Plot twist for the business owner; Denial-of-Access Lawsuit will be pursed in the coming days. Based on the current reviews already in here about discrimination, me being refused service is not a new action this business owner is taking towards disabled peoples. Unfortunately, once discrimination occurs, California law recognizes that harm is done. This is why California law provides a strong penalty that a disabled person can claim against the business. Moreover, under California law, the business is required to pay the legal fees of the disabled person's lawyer. So... all of the people that have been discriminated against so far, and for the people that will encounter this woman in the future- pursue action. She will owe money to your lawyer. She will lose her business. Rightfully so, because this is unacceptable. The woman told me she has owned her store for 25 years, and knows the laws. I asked her if she knew the two questions she was legally allowed to ask someone about their service dog and she said "no". I am in town celebrating my honeymoon. Was looking for an outfit for dinner. I was refused service because I had a service dog due to allergies. I informed your business on the ADA regulations that this is not in accordance with the American with disabilities act. I was told I could pick her up. However that doesn't make any sense. Think about it. The clothes are up high....she is near the ground. I served my country for 20 yrs. 17 in support of Afghanistan and Middle East operations in country. I have my dog for many reason that you will never be able to understand. It's unfortunate that this companies has a refusal to be familiar with ADA regulations. I should and could report this. Last December 22nd I brought my GF's mother her to shops for a gift for my girlfriend. Not knowing exactly what she would like I ended up buying her one of the small engraved stones $14 and a $50 gift certificate that I paid for in two separate purchases as the stone was an afterthought. We came back in July to spend the certificate but my GF found that her hand sanitizer had spilled on the gift certificate bleeding through all but the first letter or two of the cashiers signature. All other writing, the amount, the hand written name of the store everything pre-printed on the paper gift certificate was intact, including the certificate number. (I'm sure she must have a copy of it in her records) I showed her the credit card charge for the certificate and she sent a picture to the owner. The owner wanted to call me on my personal number so I gave her the number. She called as she was sent a photo of the credit card purchase off of my phone, taken by the cashier. Taking to the owner, she told me rudely that she would accept the gift certificate but went out of her way to let me know she didn't have to. She said this in a rude tone, as if I was in school getting scolded by the principal. She also asked if I recognized the clerk. I don't know why. Nothing polite. Just a rude tone as if she was doing me a favor by allowing me to spend the $50 I gave her 7 months ago. I see this business has about a 2.5 stars of 5. Now I know why. read more

I live in Lake Arrowhead and decided to finally visit this shop - which had been closed for several months during the winter. I have to say, the owner of this shop is one of the rudest people I have ever met. She was condescending and just not a nice person! I merely asked her a question about one of the items in her shop. The other gal who works there (I have only seen her once) was super nice and helpful. The owner? Absolutely not!! Therefore, I can completely understand why the other customers left the comments they did. It's too bad too because we need more cute shops in the Village. Highly disappointed to see the employee behind the counter not wearing a mask. The danger of window shopping: we saw a cute Christmas ornament in the window, went inside wearing our masks, but by the time we returned to the counter, we realized the employee didn't have a mask! Obviously there was no signage requiring masks, either. For a small, enclosed space with no ventilation, I wouldn't recommend risking getting Covid from this place. read more

There is a big difference between customer service and an employee that just follows you around the store. My friends and I were walking around the village and came across this boutique, which looked cute from the outside. Inside, the clothes aren't completely my style but I was trying to be a good sport about it and look around. While looking at the skirts, I picked one up with my friend to try it on. The one employee there, who started walking around immediately as we started looking, came up behind me and said "Well, are you gonna just try it on, or buy it?" The statement was, in my opinion, completely insulting and made the whole experience pretty foul. She continued to follow us throughout the store, in less of a helpful way and more of in an antagonizing way. It was almost as if she expected us to steal something. I ended up trying the skirt on anyways, and didn't like it. As I said, the whole boutique wasn't my style. If the skirt itself wasn't 60 dollars and I had a better experience, then maybe I would've considered buying it. The most exciting part of the whole experience was leaving the store. I would not recommend coming here. There are plenty more boutiques with nicer items and nicer staff in the Village. read more

Having shopped here before I went back and tried to buy a sign, when the woman didn't come to the counter to complete my purchase, I wandered to the greeting cards. As I turned the stand (because greeting card stands turn) it knocked a lamp onto the floor crashing into a mess. She came running out and claimed that I needed to pay for this horrible blue lamp that fell due to the card turnstile being too close to the counter. She claimed the lamp was an 'original' Tiffany lamp. It was made in China and the most horrific cheap lamp. It was a mistake but I offered to pay for the cheap knock- off lamp (no pun intended). I was clearly upset with the cluttered mess of a store, that seemed like a fraudulent set-up to knock the lamp onto the ground. Anyhow, I break it I buy it, I was the better person. Just be aware of touching anything in this store, they aren't very forgiving. read more

This store was beautiful and I loved the engery. The women behind the counter was very helpful and stayed six feet away. It did not bother me that she did not wear a mask. Me and my girlfriend took time out of busy schedule to go out and enjoy ourselves in lake arrowhead. after looking around the village i suggested to my girlfriend if she would like to look at the items in this store. Now prior to this I had a little bit to smoke since i was there to enjoy myself. My girlfriend then starts looking at all the jewelry, the paintings on the wall and what she really wanted were some sandals. At the first The Lady who was at the cash register was nice but that slowly went away after she started discriminating and my girlfriend for the odor instead of just asking me kindly to leave. She called my girlfriend slow for trying to find the best shoe she wanted and continued to harass me about the odor. she then lied to us saying she had to close the store and kept giving me shit about smoking as if she was my mother anyways she lied about closing the store and basically rushed me out saying i was stinking the place up. it completely just ruined the vibe and i left home after that. The people who run this place should not be surprised about these bad reviews you need to leave the customers alone. i understand the odor was a probably but she did not have to insult my girlfriend or lie to us about "having to close the store" anyways yea always kept getting asked where i was from which i was not comfortable giving that information since i was vaguely being insulted after every question. i would recommend never going here. fuck this place. read more

What a horrible experience!! Husband and I had been in this store several times over the years. We came to Lake Arrowhead for a needed getaway. My husband returned from Afghanistan 2 years ago wounded and now handicapped from an explosion. He has a service dog which was with us. We walked in and the owner says " no pets" I said this is his service dog. She said it didn't matter. No dogs! Then kicked us out of her store. I wouldn't have stayed anyway. We have NEVER had this happen to us before. We went all over Arrowhead in and out of restaurants no problem. Isn't there a law in letting services dogs into establishments? My young teenager bought a poor quality, overpriced bag for me for Christmas, without being notified that there were no returns, only store exchange. There are no signs posted anywhere regarding store credit only and was not notified by the clerk who sold her the bag. We only learned she was mislead buying a $100+ that was not even leather, when we discovered the receipt, which was placed inside the bag! The owner was incredibly unforgiving and refused to make any one-time exceptions and mocked me by saying, "sorry you don't like anything in my store!" OMG I just had the worst ever emotional upset ever. The lady ,blonde hair at the desk saw me come in with my SERVICE DOG. I had his vest and papers at hand and she refused to let us in. There's got to be justice. My dog is a small golden doodle, doesn't shed, very obidient. He has earned his papers and to service. I'm extremely upset and I almost called the papers to have this manager or ? Whoever her credentials are turned in. We have rights! That store should be baned and picketed with protesters.
