Restaurant with a view of the golf course
    Shani L.

Overall nice ambiance, service and decent food it's nice portions. We enjoyed the back, egg and cheese croissant and Chesapeake omelet. The omelet could benefit from more lump crab, but the flavor was good. The view of the golf course made for a calming breakfast. I would recommend if you're in the hotel, but not if you coming just to eat at Alexandra's. There's better options in the area with a larger selection.

The view of the golf course sells this place. We came for the Thursday $40 prefix menu as advertised by an IG influencer, but quickly learned that it was ''members only'. Disappointing but they honored us anyway and provided menus. We had a new waitress so we were patient with her. Overall the main courses were great. Our group of 6 ordered salads, crab soup, crab cakes, steak variations and salmon - all good. The smashed potatoes were not smashed - they were fingerlings. That should be clarified on the menu. I'd return to try their normal menu options - the apps looked appetizing! We also got dessert on the house, which was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their options, including raspberry sorbet, carrot cake, apple crumble and tiramisu (mine). Most everyone enjoyed their drinks but my husband's Basil Hayden and ginger ale was a bit watered down. The stir fry side left much to be desired.

Alexandra's restaurant is located within the Turf Valley Resort. The food was excellent and the waiter was friendly, but the interactions in the very beginning and very end of the meal left much to be desired. When we arrived for our reservation, the hostess was seemed annoyed and acted curt. We were able to sit at a table outside, which overlooks the golf course. I preferred this to an indoor table, the inside was a little bit loud for our liking. For cocktails we sampled all of the four special cocktails on the menu. I really liked all of them, with the exception of the Strawberry Lemonade Fizz. It was tasty but I thought it was just a little bland. It tasted like watered down strawberry lemonade. But the Southern Style Smash, Flo-Rita, and Mobtown Martini were very good and tastefully mixed. We started with the Butter Board, which I had thought might be a little closer to a cheese or charcuterie board, but really was just large globs of butter with pitas. The butter was delicious of course, but ultimately the appetizer could be improved by adding some other elements like jams, cheeses, and meats to the plate. The crab soups however, were fantastic!! They have a Cream of Crab soup, which is obviously a white cream based soup. They also have a Maryland Crab soup which is more tomato broth based. The third soup mixes the two of them, I'd recommend this option! Mixing the two together offsets the heaviness of the cream and creates a really delectable flavor. I ordered the lamb chops for my entree. It comes with four chops and is served over a bed of couscous mixed with spinach and chickpeas. A couple of the land shops were a little bit fatty, but they were cooked to perfection and so incredibly tender! I also loved the bed of couscous that the chops sat on. It was a substantial amount and the chickpeas and spinach provided exquisite flavor and texture compliments. My boyfriend ordered the Shrimp Stir Fry and was pleased with it he said the amount of food was substantial and the spice level was perfect. The one downside to the dishes that the shrimp are served with the tails on but other than that it was a fine dish. My mom got a filet cooked to her liking and ate every morsel. We ended our meal with the Apple Streusel dessert, which was basically an apple crisp topped with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel. Really good, and pretty big and definitely shareable for two. While we were finishing up our desserts and drinks, one of the employees came over and told us that they would be locking the door to get back into the resort. This rubbed me the wrong way because I felt like I was being rushed to finish my meal, and I felt the door shouldn't be locked until we had gotten up and left. We did have a late reservation, at 8:30, and the restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m., but I think it's important not to chase late reservations out of a restaurant, and this made the difference between three and four stars for me. I would recommend this restaurant if you're staying at the resort. The menu is excellent and the food was prepared really well, but there are pieces of the experience that could use improvement.

Great experience we came for HH and they also had steak night the food was really good and it was a beautiful place to be at. We got nachos they were good not the best I ever had but it was still nice. The steak was cooked perfectly And the Cesar salad was a 10/10 no complaints the bartender was also really nice One star taken away because the house manager was very rude for no reason I'm not sure what her name was but started off polite and when we asked for our check that we asked for 30min prior she caught an attitude. But besides that great experience the hostesses were great as well !

The steaks, crab cakes, and the tempura cauliflower were all amazing and delicious! The cauliflower esp was superb and the rib eye was amazing. The seafoood risotto had a strange taste to it that I can't pinpoint, so wouldn't recommend that. The salmon burger was good but nothing special. Would highly recommend the three dishes I mentioned in the beginning!

Great food! I've been here for several different events, and the food never disappoints. Saturday was a graduation party for my little cousins, and the food was yummy. I had the salmon with mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes. I also had the crab soup for an appetizer. It was very hearty. Congratulations Class of 2024 (Morgan State University) & (MICA)

This place was adorable. A family member selected this place for a small, family celebration. It's adjacent to a golf course and located inside of a hotel. Though we did not have reservations, the 5 of us were seated immediately. The outdoor patio was large and provided a beautiful view of the golf course and fountain. The indoor dining area is spacious and simplistic with minimal decor. Our waiter was excellent. For example, he described the appetizers we were interested in because some of them (like the nachos) are served in a non-traditional manner. We had the calamari and brussel sprouts. Both apps were good. I didn't love the sauce that came with the calamari but the calamari was good alone. It was crispy, fresh and seasoned well. The brussel sprouts had crispy bacon mixed into the buffalo sauce base. I ordered the maple glazed salmon and it was so good. The roasted potato and mixed veggies that come with it were a nice compliment. My partner loved his brisket sandwich. They pack it with meat that is tender and top it with fried onions. To my surprise, the flavor was great and did not need any salt or condiments. The others in our party ordered a classic burger. It was huge and they enjoyed them. The dessert menu is diverse. We opted to get 2 different sorbet flavors: vanilla, pineapple basil and honey dew. Both flavors were good with the honey dew having a creamier texture than the vanilla, pineapple basil flavor, which had the traditional gelato texture. We lingered and talked for awhile the way families do and never felt rushed. I look forward to trying more menu items in the future and will update this review when I do.

TIP: Plan ahead and make reservations! Up for a mini staycation or just looking for a slightly upscale restaurant to eat, Turf Valley / Alexandra's is your spot. Alexandra's restaurant is located at Turf Valley Resort. The resort itself entails a golf course, spa, pool with a water slide and rooms to rest your head while visiting the resort. Alexandra's is an American fusion restaurant that has a variety of dining options; breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday Brunch, and Happy Hour. There is live music in the lounge area. Private rooms for special events or business meetings. The patio offers outdoor dining. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Be sure to check out the menu, hours for availability and make reservations as it can be tough getting a table. The Mother's Day brunch menu was delicious. It entailed, roasted potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs / option to create your own omelette. There was baked salmon, vegetables and a delicious tender prime rib. The dessert spread did not disappoint; offering chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake, fresh warm bread pudding and freshly cut fruit. There was unlimited drinks that included adult beverages such as mimosas. Our family and friends enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch and will be back again.

Came here for a happy hour with some old friends visiting in town. Let me tell you, I think we struck gold. It was a perfect day sitting outside in the shade having a real cold one and trying out new foods. One dish that blew me away is the brisket nachos. This dish is not like a nacho supreme type but 4 tortilla with the smoked brisket on top with some fixings. What I tasted was very smoky and delicious. I mean that was it right there. I really can't remember the other appetizers or even the burger because I was fixated on the brisket. And this from a man who doesn't particularly care for brisket because I've seen some places butcher it by making it too dry. This was not that. Did I mention I recommend the brisket nachos?

Crab cakes we had were good but service lacked! We had dinner here before the Reagan Years 80s band show event we were attending at Turf Valley. Our dinner bill for 5 was just under $300. Hubby picked up bill and my 3 other friends put in cash for tips total $70, which I thought was undeserved! BUT under current Covid thing was the right thing to do for the service industry. It just left a bad taste in my mouth knowing our server barely provided service. He took our orders and another guy delivered our food. We even flagged other servers for straws or ice after waiting awhile and we had to flag the receptionist to bring us the bill. Service doesn't have to be bad, just saying... My friends said their food was okay, one ordered a steak $44, another a salmon $34, shrimp cocktail (4 pcs) $18, hubby's crabcakes (2 pcs) with small amount of fries and slaw was $48. I had a crab soup. This dinner, food and drinks total $289 plus $70 tip was pricey for the service and food quality. I was underwhelmed.

Located in a golf focused hotel, Alexandra's has a beautiful view of the kept golf green outside. The furniture throughout the hotel could use a facelift and modernization. I came to Alexandra's for lunch. Grabbed a salad with an added crab cake. The crab add on was pricey at $19, but tasty. The greens were fresh and the balsamic dressing nicely flavored. Service was good. Not many tables seated with one attendant. Lunch set me back about $30 for the salad and green tea.

Alexandra's offers a tasty menu for breakfast options and abundant seating with beautiful views for their guests. I ordered the Chesapeake omelet, which was just the right size with ample portions of crab and a nice balance of smoked Gouda cheese and bell peppers. I was able to quench my thirst with a nice mimosa. My mother ordered the Alexandra's Breakfast and was thoroughly pleased and my husband loved his Smoked Brisket Hash. I'd recommend visiting Alexandra's for a wonderful meal.

    Mimosas and Bloody Mary's
    Tyler A.

The Mother's Day brunch was very underwhelming. I'm giving two stars because our server (Justice?) was great and my mimosa was never empty! The food itself is mediocre at best. Long lines for the omelette station. A problem is that there are no scrambled eggs on the buffet. If you want scrambled eggs you have to wait for the omelette station. The bread selection was poor. I would have loved a bagel, but would have settled for a piece of toast or an English muffin. The only non sweet bread item was an inedibly dry cheddar scone. I think the staff and servers were working hard but you can't make up for the food. For $50 a person we won't be back.

It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. Brunch at Elliott's Craft Kitchen: A Promising Start With a Few Missed Beats…read more.. I recently visited Elliott's Craft Kitchen a fairly new spot that my group of four decided to try out for brunch. We were hoping for a fresh experience, but our visit turned out to be a mixed bag. Ambiance and First Impressions... When we arrived, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, which was a bit of a head-scratcher for brunch time. Even though we could hear staff chatting in the back, it took a good five to eight minutes before anyone came out to seat us. Once we were seated, we noticed the lighting was so dim that we actually had to whip out our phones just to read the menu. Not exactly the cozy brunch vibe we were hoping for. The Food: Hits and Misses... On to the food. We started with the cream of crab soup, which was just okay--nothing to write home about. The Brussels sprouts were a bit of a letdown. They were tiny and mostly just fried leaves rather than the hearty sprouts we expected. So if you're imagining those classic roasted Brussels sprouts, this wasn't it. The chicken and waffles were decent in flavor, although the presentation could have used some polish. The pita bread for the crab dip could have been toasted or something more firm and doesn't taste like it was immediately pulled from a bag. Surprisingly, the star of the meal ended up being something as simple as the French fries. They were really tasty and stood out more than some of the fancier dishes. Service and the Final Stretch... Our server was kind and polite, which we appreciated. But the big hiccup came at the end. Their payment system went down, and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to settle the bill. After sitting for about 15 minutes we informed our server that we would like to wait in the lounge area to get more comfortable as I understand.... things happen. Although while we waited for about 20 minutes there were no offers of water or anything to make the wait less awkward (not to mention asking for payment without even presenting a bill). It felt like they were more focused on turning the table than making sure we were okay during the delay. Although maybe it was an awkward start to the morning. I will say our server did her best to work things out with the technology she was given. So, I still provided her a fair tip, not her fault. Value for Money... In terms of pricing, it felt pretty average overall, but there were a few eyebrow-raisers. For instance, the avocado toasted croissant--topped with over-easy eggs, baby spinach, and Grana Padano--was $19, which felt a bit steep for what it was. In comparison, a pork schnitzel dish was around $21. So, while the pricing wasn't outrageous, some items definitely made me pause and question the value. Overall Thoughts... In the end, my experience at Elliott's Craft Kitchen was a bit of a letdown. So I'm surprised by some of the reviews (maybe because it was not dinner). While there were a few highlights (like the fries and a well-made Old Fashioned), the service hiccups and the underwhelming dishes mean I'd probably think twice before going back. Definitely not for brunch but I would really consider Dinner after some more reviews. Hopefully they'll iron out the kinks as they get more established.

But today we realized that Iron Bridge is considered a bar, not a restaurant, and therefore this place in Columbia/Howard County, MD doesn't require/ need to have high chairs for families with toddlers whom need them, and in our experience, it's not a family/ children friendly bar. ? I always thought it was a nice restaurant, until today ! What I consider a shocking experience. Because we live nearby and have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, etc., there, but until today I've never taken our grandkid there! Wow, a terrible experience! However our waitress was really nice ..

They were definitely very busy but our server was still attentive and friendly. My friend ordered a flight of wine and I ordered a glass of the Poggio Le Volpe, 'Roma Rosso'. The wine, as always was delicious. My friend ordered the IBWC Fall Burger and I ordered the Grilled Bistro Steak Frites. The Steak was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We had also ordered side Caesar salads. It was restaurant week and neither of us opted into the the 3 courses for a price option but our server did kindly inform us that she grouped it that way to help us save and include the dessert. We ended up getting the Nutella dessert (I don't recall what it was called). While the presentation wasn't great, it was very good and I would recommend it. Wish I liced closer so I could come here more often but it is one of my favorites in the area.

Bolder filled by 5:45pm on a dreary Thursday in late winter, deservedly so. Want to come later,…read moreeven on a weeknight, make a reservation or prepare to wait. This was our first time here, as on prior occasions we found the line too daunting. We were surprised when another 4:15pm patron was led to their reserved table, but we learned that their planning and caution was well-founded. We discovered the popularity of Bolder to be well-deserved. Seeking lite fare for an early dinner, calorie conscious, we both navigated the tempation-filled menu with success. We thoroughly enjoyed the bison burger and turkey club, the latter being sufficiently sample for a split lunch the next day too. Service was rock-solid and very efficient. We definitely hope to be back soon. And we will make a reservation. Dress code is casual.

It's a little bit off 70, but not bad. First off, this restaurant has an incredibly oversized parking lot. Maybe the restaurant has areas I didn't see, but I was a little bemused. Inside, it's decorated a bit like an old lady house with country accents. It's welcoming and nice, if a little old. I was seated and served quickly. My waitress was great. I ordered French onion soup and a bison burger with sweet potato fries. The French onion soup came out first. It had a huge layer of cheese on top, but it tasted like white cheddar. The soup itself was good at first but started getting bitter. I discovered a huge bay leaf in it. That explains that. Guys, leaving a bay leaf hidden in French onion soup is a violation of Article 35(2) of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions. My sweet potato fries were seasoned with a chipotle cinnamon blend. It was weirdly sweet and clashed with the burger. I didn't care for it and honestly feel like if you're going to season with something weird, you should be abundantly clear. The burger was a disappointment. It was fairly basic. It was cooked right, but every so often I would get a burst of salt. I suspect the meat was salted and not well mixed. My burger, fries, and side of soup came to over $40. I am honestly being more critical of them because of that. At that price point, I expect REALLY good, not salt pockets, a left-in bay leaf, and weird seasonings.
