Horseradish crusted filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus
    Pat C.

The restaurant has a homey feel. Our server has worked there for 27 years and was nice. Service was good. I got the horseradish crusted filet which is filet mignon breaded with horseradish crust served with mashed potatoes and asparagus (since they ran out of the original vegetable that should have come with it). The mashed potatoes were very flavorful. The filet mignon was good. I thought the chocolate cake could have been richer and more moist.

See Labrina for an amazing Sunday Funday drink! Great food and service at the bar or one dining room!

Loved the New Yorker sandwich ! The sweet potato fries were awesome. We were seated immediately in a comfortable booth. The atmosphere is very quaint. The server was very efficient and a good listener. The prices are average for the Ellicott area. I would recommend this place! Definitely recommend this place for the over 50 crowd. The New Yorker is the best!!

Shannon's is like the neighborhood Cheers bar where everyone knows your name. Very warm and friendly with excellent local dishes such as crab cakes and fried oysters when in season. Recommend many of the specials in addition to regular menu items, for example the fried oysters. The New Yorker pastrami sandwich and turkey sand which both excellent.

Had a nice lunch at this place. The French Onion soup was really delicious, so much so I forgot to take a photo. Had the hot pastrami and a burger, both were fantastic and the portion so big we had lunch for the next day. Our server was excellent, she checked on us frequently and it really made a difference. Darn, I wish I remembered her name! This little gem is worth a trip if you are looking for some hearty foods.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

The crab cake was flavorful and well-made, the hollandaise was rich and on point, and the grits completely surprised me in the best way. I also tried the Scotch eggs that my friend ordered. I normally hate sausage, but these were shockingly good crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly heavy. The mimosa was exactly what it should be simple and refreshing. Champagne and orange juice never fails. Total bill came to $35.25, which is definitely on the pricier side, but this is Baltimore and pretty much in line with what I expected for quality brunch and drinks in this area. The vibe is classic Irish pub dark wood, Irish scarves and flags, and a really cool display of fire department patches on the walls. It felt authentic and cozy without trying too hard. Overall, great food, solid drinks, and a strong brunch option if you're in Fells Point. I'd absolutely come back.

Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. Fries with cheese curds topped with gravy. Savory, Delicious, and filling. I'll most likely pay a 2nd visit! That Guinness is calling me!

I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals. But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation. On a positive, her daughter graduated high school & is still alive today in 2025, so her mom did something right. The other time I was here was in February 2023. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going.
