This diner truly offers so much more than a regular diner than you expect. Over the top milkshakes, super sweet pancakes, giant mozzarella sticks, and trashcan nachos! The service was great and the ambiance is family friendly.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. They were very busy. It took a while to place an order and get water. But once drinks and food was placed it came out rather quick. They bring good portions of food. Lots of items to pick from on the menu. Food was good. I look forward to coming back. My only complaint was Golf and Nascar on TV

This place was BUSTLING on a Sunday afternoon following church services. The hosts were efficient and pushed through the waitlist like true pros. The service was a bit sporadic but ultimately we were pleased with the attention received and the food selected! Would return if ever in the area again

I ordered asian brussel sprouts without pork and coconut shrimp. The brussel sprouts were delicious. I enjoyed the sauce. The coconut shrimp was good, not much portion wise... The dipping sauce was okay. Service was okay for a busy diner. Inside is nothing fancy... Just a normal looking diner.

I needed some healthy protein in my life the other evening and the normal diner I go to got that was closing early so EC was the closest. It wasn't that far of a drive and I was familiar with it, having driven past it before and have visited other establishments in the same plaza multiple times before. I looked at their website for my specific dish and was overjoyed seeing it and quickly ordered. I really appreciate they didn't add an upcharge for pickup or for their platform usage. I parked and waited a few minutes before calling to see if my order was ready although they told me it would take up to 40 minutes. I was instructed that it would be ready in less than five and was overjoyed to head inside to grab it. The restaurant was about at 40% occupation and I saw a pair of ladies walking out were dressed interestingly, a tutu and some other accessories which signify they were celebrating something but that they also had a really good time. They have a full bar and there was a TV playing the football game which I was watching a little bit from inside my car before coming in. I was greeted by two people and when I gave them my name for the pickup order I was instructed it was being put together at that moment. I grabbed my order after looking at the TV and searching their bar to see which brands they use and headed out the door before being thanked by the host. I got to my car and drove off although I wanted to open the bag and eat it immediately. It's a diner in all sense and if you're ever craving diner food this is a good spot to try. Make sure expectations are set on diner.

The food was not spectacular. The server missed a few things and I had to inform her that my meal came with certain things. The food did not taste freshly made. I would probably been better off ordering breakfast.

Parking lot was packed you'd think inside was filled with folks waiting for a table, but not the case! A fan of country fried steak and I'd rate it equal to iHop's, College Park Diner, Denny's, Cracker Barrel caliber, but what I appreciated was the sausage gravy was kept separate in a bowl and I will say, what sets EC Diner apart from those establishments I mentioned...is the sausage gravy!!!! It was sooo good I had to ask for a biscuit! That bowl of gravy was enough to slatger the chicken fried steak and all over both sides of the biscuit. I was kinda disappointed that I opted to not having eggs and yet I got charged for a second biscuit...so next time I'll know to save my biscuit for the gravy rather than having 2. Womens and mens bathroom were separate and clean. Service was friendly and efficient. Sweet tea was as yummy as the sausage gravy.

Cozy Spot with Tasty Breakfasts. Stopped in for a casual breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The garden omelet was excellent--well-cooked, and generously filled with fresh ingredients. We also tried a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It came with a tiny bit of cream cheese- had to get a little bit more which we got charged $1. The bacon was cooked inconsistently. Service was friendly and quick. The only downside was the noise level--it got pretty loud. It's a typical diner with satisfying omelet.

Was finally able to check out the Ellicot City Diner. Went for dinner on a Saturday around 6pm. We were promptly sat on the booth side of the diner. It took about 5 mins for a server to come over and get our drinks and then another ten or so to bring them, there were two of us and I got a water. We ordered the shrimps bisque as an appetizer and it was really good! Would highly recommend. My girlfriend ordered the seafood pasta which came with large pieces of shrimp. The pasta dish itself was huge but lacked any serious flavor, it tasted like heavy cream. I ordered the bbq burger with egg. The patties were awesome and fresh but the bbq sauce was very runny and sweet. Not quite sure it was bbq sauce. The side salad was big and full of fresh veggies. We noticed a massive case of desserts on our way out and will try them next time! Overall, you get a ton of food for the money.

EC Diner is right off the Pike and has its own parking lot. Busy and limited during peak hours, nearby shopping blocks make for a walkable option. Arriving after the lunch rush, there was no wait and were seated in a booth near the entry. Greeted with a smile, our server Ms. Joy was a sweetheart. The menu is extensive and there's everything in between for everyone. The place is loud and bright! For this visit, fried burrata, tuna melt with fries, fried chicken Benny and waffles, brownie shake, and Cinnabon shake. The fried burrata was yummy. While the arugula was a bit wilted, the vodka sauce and balsamic made for a delicious pair. I could've had this as a meal with a side of toasted foccacia! The tuna melt was a massive sandwich. I prefer mine with red onions, and the toasted rye and warm tomato was a surpise. The American cheese was the standard, would've opted for Muenster or Gruyere. It also came with coleslaw but it remained untouched. The fried chicken Benny and waffles came with warm syrup, chicken was crisp, Benny was perfectly runny, and it was inhaled. Both shakes were ordered after the meal and definitely wow factor. While the presentation looked incredible, it fell short in taste. I am team thick milkshakes, I like them decadent and malty. This wasn't it. It was liquidy and the "Cinnabon" was a stale minibon impaled in the spoon. The description got me though ha! The brownie milkshake also was liquidy, however the double brownie and ice cream sandwich were reported delicious. Ask for a to go cup if you wanna take it for later! Overall, EC Diner was great. It could use a nice clean down. An option if you have time and in the area!

I love EC diner! The staff are always welcoming, the place feels like a second home, and the service is great. I have to start by giving a shout out to our waitress, Jo. She took special care of my kids. Whatever they whispered at her, she ran to get it and that made my night at a restaurant with kids survivable. The food is also just down right, spot on, perfect diner food. Most diners are meh. EC diner is the diner to go to and sets my standards for finding a good diner. The food is always tasty, the options are endless, and the dessert case is just fun. Even my salad was unbelievably good. A salad!

    Strawberry cheesecake milkshake

This strawberry cheesecake milkshake was absolutely amazing. It was so huge but it tasted so good. I had lamb chops which were delicious. The fried pickles were okay the aioli sauce was better than the fried pickles. Great service as well. If you're in the area check out this diner.

Overall it was a pleasant experience with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Parking was easy and conveniently located directly in front of the restaurant. There is also outdoor seating available during good weather, and they even offer a dog-friendly menu for your four-legged companions. I would recommend calling ahead to confirm whether the dog menu is available year-round or only when the patio is open. Inside, the dining area is spacious and comfortable, making it a good option for both small and larger groups. They offer daily and weekly specials in addition to their regular all-day menu. Tuesday wing specials seemed to be especially popular with several members of our group. The food was the highlight of the evening. Everything brought to the table looked fresh and flavorful, and I did not hear a single complaint about anyone's meal. A few people ordered the wings and thoroughly enjoyed them. The biggest challenge during our visit was the service. Our server was friendly and clearly trying his best, but with a larger group and separate checks, things became a bit scattered and confusing at times. Orders and checks needed a few corrections before the end of the evening. In fairness, the general manager stepped in to help resolve an issue with one meal, which was appreciated and helped improve the situation. Overall, despite a few service hiccups, the quality of the food and the comfortable atmosphere made this a worthwhile visit, and I would return again.

Took a good friend of mine here to celebrate her birthday. This evening that had a really nice pre-fix menu called The Vines and Vibes dinner series in which you get 3 courses and wine pairings for $65 pp. Which was a really great deal. We also ordered a plethora of appetizers to share amongst the table. We had the hummus trio , charred octopus, summer heirloom tomatoes, zucchini fritters and the charred octopus. All of the appetizers were very good. The zucchini fritters were so good, we ordered a second order. For dinner pretty much everyone did the cast iron short rib with the puff pasty. That was basically Sunday dinner in a pan. The short rib was nice and tender and the flaky puff pasty to soak up the gravy. Very delicious. For my first course I opted for the ceasar salad, something told me to get that yellow tomato gazpacho. Two of my friends had gotten it and they said it was phenomenal. The birthday girl got the Bouillabaisse with the Chilean sea bass. She said that was absolutely delicious. The Chilean sea bass was cooked nicely and had a buttery taste. And for dessert we did the orange tres leche cake and the chocolate mousse. Both desserts were really good. The tres leche cake was really good and if you mix it with the chocolate mousse even better. This place offers so many options for dinner, from their weekly specials, where you get 50 percent off any bottle of wine on Mondays, bubbles and boards on Wednesdays, Thursdays they have a nice to go special, where you can pizza and a nice bottle of wine to go. Now who doesn't like that for a Thursday night. They also have a great happy hour as well . This place is great for a date night, girls dinner or just a nice night out to have a great dinner and listen to live music. I will definitely be returning either for dinner or brunch. Also I did want to give a tidbit about parking. It can get a lil crowded especially in the evenings and if there is an event going on at Merriweather Post, it's best to utilize their valet parking for an additional $10 fee. It definitely beats the headache if trying to find parking. SYOY

Oddly enough, it was pretty quiet, but they do have the games on for anyone looking for a low-key spot to watch. We were seated within 5 minutes, which I appreciated. Our server, Patrick, was... okay. Not terrible, but definitely felt new to serving. We didn't get the rundown of the daily specials (yet overheard them being given to the booth behind us), and a few small service details slipped through--but I'm giving him grace based on his newness. One thing I noticed from Yelp reviews is that bread is usually served automatically. We had to request it, especially after seeing tables seated after us get theirs first. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We ordered several appetizers, and honestly, they were filling enough to be a full meal: * Ribs - Flavorful, tender, and genuinely falling off the bone. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent--some pieces were cut shorter than others--but the texture was on point. I'd definitely return for these. * Brussels Sprouts - Patrick didn't mention they were shareable, which would've been helpful. I did like the flavor, but in hindsight I'm glad we pivoted to... * Crab Dip - This one missed for me. The flavor leaned more tuna-ish than crab-forward. Not my preference, but you may feel differently. * Shrimp in Spicy Butter - Definitely spicy, but somehow still flavorless. More like spicy water than a seasoned butter sauce. The one bonus? They were served piping hot--exactly how I like my food. * French Fries - Hand-cut and tasty. A solid win. Unfortunately, everything except the shrimp came out lukewarm, which took away from dishes that could've been great. Temperature matters! On the drink side, though? Hits all around. The fresh-pressed beet juice was fantastic, and the sweet tea was also on point. We skipped dessert only because we were full, but I'm already planning to come back specifically to try it--along with the ribs and fries again. Overall, I'm hoping this was just an off day. Elliott's Kitchen has potential, and I'd like to see it shine on the next visit

I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites! The staff are nice, but service and the kitchen seemed a bit slow on a Sunday early afternoon towards the very end of brunch despite the area we were seated only had a few tables filled. The Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was nothing special - feeling like a flat, single-note dish.. Perhaps it was that the hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity (usually from lemon juice) to brighten the dish. Or, that the nod to Maryland - the Old Bay honey - drizzled around the edges of the dish wasn't enough to elevate it to something that is savored with each bite. The Fluffernutter Blondie is a good dessert choice if you love blondies and peanut butter. Although, it was a bit drier than I'd like, the texture was still soft.
