We decided to go to this resturant as it was close by. We ordered the grilled fish and chicken quzi. OMG what a GREAT Iraqi food. Generous prtion, generous, iraaqi tanoor and traditional bread made inside was brought for free along with a plate of Torshi (pickle) and free chicken soup. The food was so delecious, although originally we were told the grilled fish would take 35 mins it was ready with the chicken quzi in 20 mins. We completed our food and were served free iraqi tea as well. I would definitely come back if in town. I think the resturant should advertise the fresh bread made on site, this is a winner with any dish. read more

The new guy working as a server is a harasser. I was there yesterday. He pops up and monitor my cell phone every time I am looking at it. Regarding the food, I was eating and found a sharp metal and I told him about it. He simply said, "this is from the forks". I told him look I could have been at the hospital if I ate this sharp metal! I didn't pay a tip. I was waiting for the cash back, he gave me the money back silently, without even saying sorry! I went to my phone to leave him a review he starting yelling at me saying, "no need for a review". He kept repeating it loudly in front of everybody until I asked him to shut up or he sees something else from me. Everytime I am at the restaurant, I look back, I see him sitting staring at me , and then he runs away! Very creepy. The previous time I was there he also was popping to watch my cell phone while I was using. He found me on instagram and he added me there! Even though I rejected him. Tonight was my first dinner at this place. It was a long drive from Kirkland but my son and I wanted to try the place since We don't have any good Mediterranean Restaurants on the Eastside. We got there around 7:45 pm and the restaurant was full. We were lucky to get one of the last few tables. The place looks very nice with nice pictures showing different part of the history of Iraq. Also the place was very well decorated for Ramadan. The staff were friendly. But this is truly not the best time to judge the service. It's Ramadan so most customers there will show up at once after fasting all day and they all Exocet the food out at the save time which is so difficult fir any restaurant to handle. Also keeping in mind all of the take out orders at the same time. So, the service was slow. It took me half an hour to get my Turkish coffee . But again this is nit a normal time so I will be able to have a better feeling about the service after Ramadan. The food was good. The best dish was the meat shawarma. This was the real shawarma and it was tender and fresh. The falafels were good too. The kabobs were just ok, I had much better Iraqi kabobs than what I tried tonight. The Tabboleh salad was also just ok. The complimentary chicken soup was good and so was the fresh baked bread. The Turkish coffee was great but again it took half an hour to get. I will go back for the Shawarma again. The only reason I did nit give this place five stars is because of the slow service but we will see how the service is after Ramadan. This place nit only have the best Shawarma in the State but it's also the only pjs e that serves an a real authentic shawarma cooked on the shawarma machine so I highly recommend the meat shawarma plate or sandwich on the thin bread. read more

I ordered "to go" in the lobby: Two Lamb Shank Dinners and a Greek Salad Plate. Total with tax came to $50. They said it would take 25 minutes. It took 50 minutes... just saying! The lamb shanks were huge and they were pull-a-part delicious, I mean really perfect! Each dish was served with a Basmati style rice and salad. In addition we ordered the Greek salad and it was traditional and everything you could expect! The meal came with fresh baked bread and a dipping sauce . Even with a 15 minute ride home, the meal was hot, aromatic and full of flavor. We're saving half the meal for tomorrow (it was that large)! ... and of course we'll be back here again... definitely a 5-Star meal! read more

So as I drive to the restaurant, I pulled into a section of Kent I've never been..:it was fascinating. Food - stop....the food was amazing. We ordered the salmon and lamb chop plates, eggplant salad and the chicken Shawarma sandwich combo. Everything was well marinated and delicious and ready to be picked up when I arrived. Please reach out to UW alladin in U district and ask where they get their gyro and chicken and hire 3 of their chefs. I used to work with Dhya and I've been waiting for him to get situated before I visited. I waited too long. I loved my whole meal! I've dreamed my whole life of eating lamb as delicious as the shank they serve. Not only that, it comes with two sides, broth, bread and rice for $16?!? The eggplant salad is unique and the roasted eggplant is SO flavorful. I'd be happy with half or less of the dressing, as the veggies are the star. The baba is nice and creamy and the pita is well seasoned and toasty. My honey decided to try a different gyro and he said it was ok, though he prefers his usual version. They forgot to put his veggies on the side. The fries were crispy and go well with the sandwich. Service was slower in the beginning, we were there before 3 pm and there were two other tables. I asked for water and silverware. Mo wasn't writing anything down so maybe that's why the veggies were left on my honey's gyro? We also quite enjoyed the complimentary cardamom tea! Stumbled across this gem because I was craving Mediterranean and was in the area and I am glad that I did! My boyfriend and I ordered the Alexandria plate. Even though we ordered Togo the food mirrored the exact pictures already posted on Yelp. The cold items were nicely packed in Togo boxes and the hot entree was packed in a large aluminum pan with lid. The salads were fresh and flavorful, The rice was fluffy, every kind of meat was packed with flavor, and The bread was warm and airy. The lamb and chicken was drier than I would have liked but it was still good and I will definitely come back. Trying out this new Mediterranean restaurant today with my wife. Don't know what to expect but sure not disappoint after trying it out. When you walk into the restaurant, you can smell all the awesome spice they useless to prepare their food. The place is not really big but do have a table that put together that fits 20 people. Lots of photos around the place to reflect their culture. The menu is very simple and lots of misspelling, love it. Usually that's a sign of authenticity. They serve halal meat here. So no pork on their menu but lots of yummy lamb dishes. Most dishes are about $18 and they all look good. We went over the top and order the most expensive meal they have, Alexandria entree. Well, it is $45 only. Do the math, our order could serve 3-4 people with soup, apps and lots of meat entree with two giant bread. The appetizer has lots of different flavor and I love the eggplant salad. The eggplant is dehydrated and glazed with honey type of sweetness. Humus is fresh and tasty. They toasted the pita bread a little so it is crispy in the bottom. The huge entree also brings surprises. All the meat we have tasted are very moist and different flavor and texture. The shredded beef is serve slightly warm but purposely burn to crispy a little bit. The lambs are so tender and not overly flavor. Chicken and beef all just so yummy. There are couple side pickled. Perfect match when you are eating all these proteins. After the meal, we have a small cup of Arabic coffee. Smooth and hint of cardamom spice. Also very spectacular display of the cup of coffee on the silver platter. We will definitely come back again with friends next time and try the baklava as well!! read more

We are visiting from San Jose , CA. At the rental car office , I asked the agent who is Of Iraqi origin about any reference to a Middle East restaurant in the greater Seattle area. And here we end up, we came after the famous Iraqi shawarma trade mark , . unfortunately they ran out, but we got One of the best authentic Iraqi kebab that I ever enjoyed abroad since I left Iraq 25 years ago. The taste, spice , Joyce and smell, is exactly same you might find on Baghdad markets. Not mentioning the bread and the special appetisers plat with starter delicious lentil soup . Wow. A friend recommended that we try this place and it was fantastic. It is a little hard to find as it is set back in a shopping complex off the main road, but worth the terry. We ordered the Mixed Tikka and Kebab Plate. It came with soup, an appetizer platter, and four different kebabs along with rice and delicious flat bread. The baba ganoush, which came on the appetizer platter, was excellent and had a great smokey flavor along with all the other salads. Everything was well prepared and came out quickly. The chicken kabab was by far my favorite--it was juicy and flavorful. Oh, and the bread, the bread was fantastic. Light, soft, and sponge with good chew. After dinner, we had Arabic coffee! It came on a beautiful silver platter!! The coffee was awesome and really capped off the meal!! If I had to criticize anything, it would be the ambiance. It was a little plain inside and the door had a buzzer that went off whenever someone came in or out. We came here the other day with some friends who are very familiar with this restaurant. The service was a bit slow but I only saw two people running the place and it was super busy because it was dinner time. We had 4 people in our group and it was about 10 minutes before anyone came over to say anything to us. We ordered and relaxed to chat. The food took around 35 minutes to arrive which is not a big deal because again, it was busy. Glad I was not starving though. Everything we ate was spectacular. The flavors were insanely good, and the portions were pretty large. I love their hummus and the lamb shawarma is the best I've had yet. I can't wait to go back again. I have never had Iraqi food before so I am probably off the mark here, but I did not like most of the dishes we ordered. The schwarma (sp) was very dry and had no sauce with it. The bread was boring. The chicken kabobs were good. The spice level was mild. No heat to speak of. Most of the folks in the place were obviously middle eastern and they liked it. Let me explain the low rating right off the top, and then I'll get to the core of the review. The main issue here is that the person serving us did not wear a face covering at any time, even though it is currently required by law in our state. Our food was, for the most part, very good. Our meals came with a complementary soup that we both enjoyed. The mixed appetizer plate is a strong opener. Portions of each appetizer were generous and they all tasted fresh and delicious. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and enjoyed it thoroughly. Here again, the portions of rice, chicken and hummus were generous and I wasn't able to finish it all. The shawarma came with a sort of "pocket" bread that was very fresh and so much better than the typical pita you'd expect. My wife ordered the falafal sandwich and was a little less impressed. It was served in the same excellent bread as I mentioned above, but she found the filling to be somewhat lacking in terms of vegetables, and it had some kind of mustard that she found unusual. In any case, a good meal overall and in normal times I'd consider returning. However the server's lack of respect for his customer's health concerns leaves me feeling cold, so we won't be back any time soon. Enjoy at your own risk. read more

It was my husbands birthday and he wanted some good, traditional Mediterranean food that was also Halal. We haven't been here since some time last year and when I walked in, the place looked great. It had definitely been redone - more presentable and didn't look as run down. The floor, tables, even decor was very inviting. I waited for a few minutes while they packaged the food and started to get excited! We ordered the Lamb Shank (my husbands fav and it did not disappointment - best one yet!) and the Alexandria Platter - the chicken swarma was my fav! Aside from the food, service was also very good. I really want to give this spot a 5 star because I'm sure the food is perhaps exceptional if it's eaten in their joint. It looks like they bake their own bread, their hummus is good and their kebab with rice is good. I'm finding the baba ganoush okay but the smokiness and tartness is a little overwhelming. My problem is the Greek fries and the fares that had bread and pita became too soaked in liquid that they weren't appetizing to eat. There was no crisp in the fries and the sauce it came with was strange. We also live in the West Hill and it looks like our deliver guy also made a detour somewhere else before our food got delivered. The delivery bag had so much water in it from the steam that it looked like someone spilled water on the floor. Yes, the bag leaked from so much steam. Would I order here again? Perhaps-- if the restaurant can maintain the quality of food for delivery. I have had food delivered from restaurants in the East Hill and had amazing food. I'm sure this spot can do it. read more
