One of our more interesting stops on the West coast. Led here by band leader Justin S, here's an opportunity to feast on both traditional Pakistani food and a juicy Ribeye Steak. Which is just what we did. No community dinner this time but we did the reach across the table which would have drove my mother crazy. In doing so, Ronnie (Justin's drummer) decided he didn't like his first bites of Lamb Steak. Rather than send it back, he and I just swapped; he loved the ribeye and I was blown away by the Lamb. Win-win. The rice was just right as were the roasted potatoes. They also serve an outstanding garlic naan. I tried the Lahori Tandoori fish and it tasted wonderful; were it not for the fact that it was deep fried, I would order that next time. About the decor. It's a comfortable, good sized place and quiet, too. I'm not sure about the two-tone green walls, but then again I'm here to eat. The chandeliers are beautiful and the booths are comfortable. I went and had dinner with my son and my boss for my thirty fifth anniversary dinner at the Boeing airplane company. I have to say that the 2 cowboy steaks, me and my son had were cooked perfect. We had a variety of potatoes. My son had the French fries. I took the mashed potatoes. They were creamy and smooth. The vegetables were just really great. I was really looking forward to having dinner here, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we were seated, the table was still dirty. The staff member said he'd return to clean it, but instead kept attending to other tables. I had to wave to get his attention again, and when he finally came back, he looked visibly annoyed. He was the only one working--taking orders and managing all the tables--so I understand he was under pressure. Still, after waiting about 20 minutes with no one taking our order, I politely said "excuse me" to get his attention. His response? A sharp and dismissive "Give me a minute!" What made it worse was watching him immediately go to the next table, taking their order with a smile and a much friendlier tone and expression. That was the final straw--we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, so we decided to leave. I understand tough shifts happen, but basic courtesy shouldn't be optional. We went on a Sunday evening and it was empty with a couple tables occupied and just one server. Service seemed a bit slower than what I would like but the food was to the point with generous portion, reasonably priced. I wish they gave more chutney containers with that big of a platter especially when the service is slow and there's just one person handling all the tables. I finally made it to Maza Grill in Kent, WA, after hearing so much hype, and I can confidently say its my favorite spot now. From the moment we walked in, the experience was thoughtful and welcoming. The food was really delicious! The ribeye, lamb shank, and fish sandwiches were perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you can tell the care that goes into the preparation. It's worth the drive, even though it's far from where I live. The service was equally just as amazing. While I was there with a group of sisters, including moms and kids, the server brought over a divider to provide us privacy without us even asking. That small act of thoughtfulness meant so much and is a beautiful example of Islamic adab (manners) in action. What also stood out was the prayer space, moussala, which allowed us to complete all our prayers comfortably. The entire experience felt like more than just dining--it felt like community. Reverting to Islam has truly been the greatest blessing of my life. The kindness and consideration I've experienced in spaces like this remind me how beautiful our religion is. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to share these moments with my sisters in faith. May Allah bless the owners and staff of Maza Grill, and may He guide more hearts to the beauty of Islam. Ameen. Saw this place on TikTok and decided to try it. You might overlook it if you didn't know it was there, but it's worth checking out! The restaurant is large, quiet, and relaxed, with amazing staff who helped my wife pick non-spicy options. The owner came around to chat, which added a nice touch. The food was incredibly flavorful--especially the sauce with the kabobs, which was so good I used it on everything. This is more of a 3.5 star but I'm rounding up because my sister and husband really enjoyed their naan bread hahaha I had to deduct a star because of the wait. This is the first time both my husband and I started playing games because the food was taking too long (~40-45 minutes). It wasn't even busy. The other part was that I wish their menu was more clear. I was hesitant about ordering my dish because the picture just showed 5 pieces of meat with nothing else while other pictures had rice and salad on them. In the end though, the dish came with rice, a salad and some sauces too and it was huge. Food wise: Lamb tika kebab - the meat was good but inconsistently cooked. Certain one was more tender than others but the flavor was good. The ice and salad and sauce was also very good. Really fluffy rice! Garlic naan - not the typical Indian naan bread, more like pizza crust. But it was good, wish there was more garlic though. This is my favorite place for a great steak. As in fabulously presented, thick, juicy, perfectly cooked to preference, keeps my taste buds joyful to the last bite. Maza Grill appears to have an established reputation in the local community, winning culinary excellence and annual best-of awards regularly, and the choice dining location for many folks in the community. There is a large variety of dishes in the menu representing the best of Indian and Pakistani cuisine, and yet I keep gravitating to the ribeye. It is a distance for me to travel here and since I cannot come as often as I would like, I cannot help but have the ribeye. On the rare occasion, a close alternative would be the Namakmandi Lamb Tikka. Flawlessly grilled, paired with the cranberry rice or roasted potatoes. Tummy yummy! Maza Grill's food was SO DELISHHHHHH and will be 100% coming back! We ordered the 18 oz steak with rice and the lamb shank nihari because of a featured video of the restaurant and it did not disappoint. Steak was incredibly juicy and FRESH! They say they source their meat fresh on the day of and if they can't source the meat, they don't serve the dish. Service was quick, kind, and attentive. We came 40 minutes before closing and they still were happy to seat our party of 7. The owner even came out at the end to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our experience. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. It's located in a strip mall that's so unassuming but the inside has high ceilings, really nice and bright, and is well-kept. First time eating Pakistani food and my group and I were very impressed! We got the steak burger, lamb kabab dish and the marinated lamb dish "Namak Mundi Lamb Tikka". Portions are a very good size! The basmati rice is very well spiced, so delicious! The lamb Tikka was well cooked and marinated! The 2 kababs that came with my plate were huge! I was not able to finish it all but I did my best. We also had the steak burger and that was so large and filling and great ribeye meat! Overall very good atmosphere. Workers there, very polite, friendly and very informative and patient with all our questions. Definitely will come back, very worth it, fairly priced for a good cooked meal. The side green condiment consisting of mint, cilantro, cucumber, olive oil and salt and pepper is fantastic! LOVE the side of saffron basmati rice with cranberries and salad. The portion of each dish is very generous. My husband and I could've split one dish. I had Pershawma (sp) lamb, hubby had the steak lamb, both dishes are awesome and a must try. Very clean place. Nice owners too. We had some Pakistani Lamb Kabobs and a cheese burger for my son. The kabobs were very tender and very tasty. However I was so surprised to see the amazing quality of the cheese burger considering this to be a Pakistani Restaurant. The burger was truly one of the best American style burgers I have ever seen. My son had it and I only tried a small piece. It was the best from the fresh quality beef to the buns they are using. I will try the steak next time. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, chicken is tender, curries rich and well-seasoned in fact every dish we've had was flavorful and well balanced. We needed a culinary adventure since we're not traveling for the holidays, so we picked up some Pakistani Cuisine from Maza Grill in Kent and it was yummy. We tried: - Punjabi boti chicken tikka, 5/5 - Lamb seikh kabab, 4/5 - Braised lamb shank, 4.5/5 And plenty of spiced rice, salad, riata, and chatni that came with these entrees. This chicken is one of the crowd favorite Punjabi dishes, and I can certainly see why. Large chunks of white meat marinated in yogurt and spices then grilled to juicy perfection. I could eat it all day long! Another standout is their braised lamb shank; it was fall-off-the-bone tender. The portion of lamb seikh kabab was very generous, although I'm eager to try their Peshawari lamb tikka if it was available next time. But you all, we need to talk about their rice. Yes, rice! It was perfectly cooked and packed with silvered almonds, julienned carrots, golden raisins, and cranberries. I'd be happy with just a heaping plate of the rice and their fresh salad. Besides these dishes, they are also a halal steakhouse. Their steaks and burgers look legit. And their portions are huge! Each entree basically feeds 2 adults, and I got an arm workout carrying 3 takeout entrees to my car. All the takeout was meticulously packaged, and really showed how they take pride in their food. I feel like you can't go wrong with their menu. Moroccan chicken was seriously mouth-wateringly moist, well seasoned, and delicious. It was served with this homemade caramelized onion sauce that we could not get enough of. Piri piri chicken also has an amazing marinade. Lamb shank was super tender. Mango lassi was really fresh. We have loved everything we've tried and portions are so big we have always had leftovers which taste great the next day for lunch. I am going to say no. The "Cajun" rice is only flavored with a very little Cajun seasoning. That is NOT cajun rice. That is seasoned rice...which this barely even that. More like yellowish over boiled rice. I ordered the tandoori chicken. It should have been called lemon chicken. Whatever they did was so sour that my eyes watered. It was inedible. I got one piece of it down but the second I just couldn't do. They gave me a ground chicken patty which was ok and I ate all of that. What can I say about this little hidden gem. We visited this place during eid, it was closed for some family event. So we thought of trying it again during a weekday for dinner. I am so glad I did. It's one of the best restaurants I tried especially for the lamb. I am usually not a big fan of eating lamb outside as its not cooked well. We were served some chips n sauce for free as soon we were seated. Later we ordered Lamb Peshwari, Chicken Cashew curry, Garlic Naan, Tea, Mango Lassi and Cheesecake. Lamb came with Saffron rice which was amazing. Meat was cooked to perfection its the best meat i tried in my life so far; Hands down to the best lamb. Chicken curry was great and very rich in taste. Naan was great in taste but personally felt it a bit thick. Tea was amazing. Mango lassi was not great though a bit water down. When we were asked how food was and during conversation I mentioned today is my birthday. She got us Cheesecake for Free. It was very sweet of her.
