I attended this restaurant on April 25, the seating was the same tired faux leather as before. I sat on the bench seat which was uncomfortable. I won a gift certificate to Alfa. I only went there because of it. We sat down and given menus and water. For the next 10 minutes the waiter cleared tables and seated other people. There were only two servers. Finally the waiter came over and took our drink order. Another wait and the beer I ordered was to come in a bottle. It was poured into a glass so I could only assume it was what I ordered. When he dropped our drinks off we ordered. 2 of us had the roast lamb. It was the shoulder part and it was very good, not stringy or tough. One of the better places that I have had lamb. Tortellini was ordered and an ample amount came. They ate about half. The 4th order was the Garithes Uvetsi. It looked great and it was fine, not spectacular. The bread was not that great. There was no pita or any kind of bread as an appie. The waiter was not very friendly. No coming back to the table to see how everything was. We were just left on our own. There were numerous times we tried to get the waiters attention and we failed miserably. Another long wait for our bill. Over all the food was good but service left a lot to be desired. read more

This restaurant has very mediocre Greek food. The cuisine is subpar, mediocre and bland. They charge extra for a singular pita bread. That seemed very concerning and insincere. I would Not recommend Alfa Greco to any of my friends or family. The service was subpar and did not seem like the servers cared about the customers. The lighting is dark and when it is bright, it seems very mediocre. Stay away from this place. Charging customers extra when they do not let us know that an item is extra seems deceiving. The ravioli was served cold and was so obviously cheap, store-bought garbage that it was almost insulting. It looked and tasted like it had been lazily reheated with zero care or effort. The drink was even worse completely undrinkable, with a rotten, sour taste that made me question how it was even served to a customer. What truly made this experience unbearable, though, was the owner's behavior. When I asked for a refund, they didn't just refuse they were openly rude, argumentative, and caused a full-on scene in the middle of the restaurant. It was embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. This place is a joke. Lowquality food, disgusting drinks, and some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Unfortunately, I don't recommend the new Alfa. They have new orders and although the menu is the same, the food is not! We ordered the Garithes Uvetsi (Prawns in tomato and feta cheese sauce on a bed of rice, served with Greek salad, roast potato, and garlic bread). The prawns were overcooked, the tomato feta sauce tasted like tomato paste, and the salad was heavy onion. The tortellini (Spinach and cheese tortellini served with choice of sauce and garlic toast) was over cooked and bland. The garlic bread was delicious though! We ordered a small cheese pizza which was mid at best. We LOVED Alfa and these dishes were a regular and delicious treat but we were not very impressed with the change. Had take out with a few friends, all being veterans of the restaurant industry. By far and away the worst experience I've had with take out food. Ravioli with meat sauce was watery, the pasta had clearly gone from pasta pot to the takeout container without a good shake and sauce slopped on top. Sauce was bland and tasted like chef boyardee from a can. No herbs to speak of, no salt and pepper and tasted like something you would give to a toddler. Friend's lamb shoulder was clearly a neck piece and not from a proper cut from the lamb shoulder primal, clearly cutting corners on costs by getting the cheapest cuts while legally fufilling the menu requirements of being from the "shoulder". As a result the piece she ate had many bones and the effort taken just to get the meat cut clearly indicated it had been massively overcooked. Speaking with the manager about the issues later there seemed to be a great hurry to get the complaint and get off the phone, with a "what do you want me to do about it" attitude. Phone number was given for a follow up which never occurred. Given the quality of the food, it would appear the quality of management is on the same level. Living in Tsawwassen most of my life hearing friends speak of Alfas like it's the best food ever, I can not agree. If I want good food I will go next door to Mario's where they actually cook good food and takeout is given the same care and attention as their dine in customers. We went out for greek food last night at Alfa Greco and unfortunately it was not as good as usual. We had a nice table outside on the patio and it was a great table as it was secluded and away from the other tables. I think that the restaurant has all new staff. We noticed it the last time we had dinner here that most of the wait staff we were used to were not there. We ordered a bottle of wine and it opened, a small amount poured into our glasses and then the waiter walked away. He didn't even wait for us to taste the wine. We shared an order of calamari and it was very good. For entrees my husband had barbecue spareribs with spaghetti and it was also very good. I ordered the moussaka and it was probably the worse moussaka that I've had. There was next to no bechamel sauce on the top and what was there was dry and inedible. The meat itself was also not good. I sent it back and did not order another entree. They offered me a dessert on the house to compensate for the moussaka. We shared a key lime cheesecake and it was very good. When the bill was presented we had been charged for the moussaka. If I had known that by accepting the dessert I would still be charged for the moussaka I would have declined the offer. At no time did the manager come out to talk to us. We will probably give Alfa Greco another try because it has been one of our favorite restaurants but last night was very disappointing. read more

Food is bland and flavourless. I don't know what happened but I won't be ordering out anything from here again. I had the lasagna and it was supposed to come with garlic toast but it never did. I'm really disappointed with the quality and taste. I could get a better tasting lasagna from the freezer section at Save-On. read more

We visited Alfa Restaurant last year, turned out the restaurant we planned to go to was closed so we decided to try this Greek restaurant instead. Staffs were friendly and welcomed us right away, we were not sure what to order so the waiter recommended a Hot Mezethes platter to start with which contained Kalamari, Keftethes, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks, served with tzatziki, we did not expect the serving to be a great amount, I did like the mozzarella stick and chicken fingers it was my first time to try Greek meatballs it was delicious as well but I find the calamari a little bit greasy. Next, we also tried their pasta I think we had lasagna and fettuccine both were creamy and cheesy. The serving was again enormous so we ended up taking out most of it. So far it has been a great experience, recommended for those looking for Greek cuisine, I would love to visit again to try their other menus, especially the Souvlaki. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. The place was empty, as you would imagine, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I sat inside to avoid the traffic noise. I started with a Growers Summer Peach cider that was a bit perfumed but was tasty all the same. Wednesday is souvlaki day which was great because that's what I was in the mood for. The interior reminded me of something much older which was a surprise since Alfa is in a strip center. I was a bit surprised at how long it took to get my order since there was only one other table seated in the place. When it was delivered just as I was wondering, I knew why it took a minute. The chicken was hot, tender, and perfectly grilled. The Greek salad was chilled nicely. The potato reminded me of the way my grandmother used to prepare them, it brought back a fleeting memory. The side of tzatziki was cool and the perfect accompaniment for the grilled chicken. The only thing that puzzled me was the pita. It was really pizza dough flattened to look like a pita-tasted like pizza dough too. In my opinion, not a true pita. Overall, not the most flavorful Greek I've ever had but it was good. read more

Good food but given a small quantity for the beef souvlaki and when brought up to them just got offered to pay more money, but wasn't given the quantity I first paid for. Highly don't recommend if you want meat and just rice. But if you like rice go for it. Used to order all the time, never again terrible service and couldn't talk to the manager cause they were working in the back...last time I checked managers manage the business not busy doing other things while the business is going under. My wife and I both had very good meals. My wife had one of their pizzas and I have done Lusaka. Ashaka was perfect. Pizza was delicious. The service was fantastic. They treated us like we are family. The waitress was were attentive and the other waiter was just as nice even though he didn't serve us he greeted us and treated us like family. read more

The person I spoke to at the restaurant stated when I asked "Is there any compensation for our food being missing", the employee stated "your compensation is receiving your food". If it gets any better than this anywhere else I don't want to know about it: I could happily live under one of the tables here and never feel I've missed anything significant anywhere else in this life. Met a few locals on the ferry back from Victoria. Since there was an accident earlier in the day near the Massey Tunnels they suggested that we visit their town of Tsawwassen. Every local I've had the pleasure of meeting have been so friendly; it's been a nice change of atmosphere from the LA scene. These good folks even took the time to write out directions to avoid the traffic near the Massey Tunnels to get us back to Metrotown. Very cool.... Back to the food: We followed them by car to a strip mall off 56 street where there were several dining options. I asked them what their fav was and this was their unanimous choice. A very nice family run operation with great service. Our waiter Billy was terrific (a real professional reminiscent of the waiters at Tadich Grill in SF). Was kind enough to bring out my 6-year olds kids meal with the app before the grown-ups meals; smart move. Here were the highlights: App--Fried calamari with Tatziki sauce. Light crisp outside with a tender piece of calamari on the inside. It comes sprinkled with diced red onion which is nice and the Tatziki sauce was great on the side. Wife: It was a Wed so it is souvlaki night (all of them for 12.95). Very cool. She chose the chicken. Very flavorful-well marinated chunks of chicken breast, skewered and grilled to perfection. It comes with roasted potato, which my wife loved! The potato was wonderfully seasoned with a hint of lemon; it beats the run of the mill baked potato any day. In addition, rice and a side Greek salad both great. Junior: Kids meal of chicken strips and a mountain full of that delicious rice. Very good for a kids meal. Myself: Large Greek Salad. Best Greek salad I've had in a long while. You can tell it was made to order and not batch made where all the veggies get water logged with dressing. It was a refreshing mix of cucumber, yellow bell peppers, tomatoes all covered with feta cheese. Wonderful. Every meal comes with house made Pita bread. Soft and pillowy; some of the best pita I've had. So glad we stopped in. Love visiting local family run operations like Alfa's. Will be back again! read more

Friendly service but was somewhat slow. Kefethetes meatballs were very dry and I think were deep fried. Also, we were seated near the bathrooms, kept feeling cold drafts and heard an awful, ringing/buzzing tone the whole time! Wasn't great but wasn't terrible either. read more

Tortellini was over-done and alfredo sauce was mediocre unfortunately, can't recommend that one. Ambience is dated, service is very good. My family and I live in Vancouver. For many years we have always made a trip out to Alfa's for dinner. Never disappointed. Amazing food, amazing service. I have been to this restaurant multiple times. I love the food here. I love the atmosphere. However, tonight's experience was a little different. My girlfriend and I decided that it was date night, so we went to Alfa. The food was still good. Chicken parmesan was delicious. I ordered a beer with my dinner. I went with the "Steam Whistle Pilsner" from their menu. The waitress ((Lisa) Older blonde woman) brought me a "Steam Flagship IPA". Right away, I knew that's not what I ordered, so I flagged her down. She said it was the same. I pointed to what it said on the menu, and then pointed out the name of the beer that she brought me. Two different beers. She immediately lost her temper with me and began raising her voice while STILL claiming that they were the same. I know damn well that they are not. Needless to say, I was a little agitated at this point. Look... I have NEVER been treated this way at a restaurant. I did not expect this walking in. The only reason this review gets 3 stars is because of the food. The service from Lisa was the worst service I have ever had. read more

I have for years gone to this restaurant with my parents. This place used to be a total hit and excellent food with excellent service. Of course this was when Nikki and her sister were in charge. Suddenly I find out they've handed the business over to their brother who not only doesn't care to compensate for what they get wrong but, years back I got sick off of chicken there around the time he took over.. more recently I had a meal there with my husband and everything tasted bland and nothing like the way it used to taste. Not only do they get orders incorrect, they don't care anymore about the quality. Then when you call to report a problem they don't even care.. the lady who answers the phone replies with, "what am I supposed to do about it?" Terribly unprofessional.. not to mention the amount of orders they got wrong this time as well with my mother's dish being dry and my father's dish was supposed to be penne Alfredo and instead they gave him fettuccini.. too much incompetence for our liking and sadly after 30 odd years of being loyal customers, myself and my folks have boycotted this restaurant.
