    Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie
    Pamela F.

So many great options! We came here after being out in the sun all day and got the strawberry shortcake smoothie and an iced rocky matcha! Both drinks were very refreshing! They had so many other options too along with the pastries and other goodies. Service was nice and were patient with us as we were looking through all the different items in the menu. Space was light and bright and lots of room for seating! Decor was minimal but very clean. Glad we were able to stop by!

Cute shop here in the heart of Jersey City. It's bright and playful inside. The service was amazing and fast! The drinks, salads, and smoothies were delicious!

    Dear Darla Salad
    Michelle L.

Came here Monday about noon. Not busy inside but lots of takeout orders. Cashier was extremely kind and patient as we have never been here before. We ordered Sunflower & Dear Darla and she asked on a salad or a wrap, which I didn't know you can have it in wrap; so I found this helpful. As she typed in our orders she also asked if we would like to have drinks, which we both agreed to have the iced chai and turmeric ginger lemonade . The salads were good. Though nothing spectacular. I feel like this is a salad I could make at home easily and have a few for the week for price we paid combined. Also, no sunflower seed in my sunflower salad! The space was very clean, spacious and well maintained. Though as I mentioned it was noon and not crowded,so probably able to upkeep any employee and customer mess with ease. I recommend for a good salad on the run. I will try a wrap next time with maybe more substance to see if I can up my rating.

Build Your Own Salad (with chicken, avocado, sweet potatoes and more)
    Jiali L.

After going to Alfalfa a few times, we're definitely big fans! While we usually get the build your own salad option, I've also tried their seasonal salads every once in a while and I've enjoyed what I got! This is one of the few places where I've seen that you get money back (or deducted from the total price) when you remove ingredients. It's extremely fair and makes you feel as though they're not trying to rip you off (good value)! For example, if you get a seasonal salad and exclude cheese, they'll give you the value of the cheese off the total price of the salad. For build your own, you also have the ability to add ingredients including extra protein (which is fairly standard). They're great about putting things on the side if you request it (this applies to ingredients and not just dressing) and even having the option to have different amounts of dressing or for it to be mixed in/on the side. The portion size is good as well. We're very happy with the quality of the ingredients and we'll continue to be repeat customers for sure!

New topping in my salad - live beetle!
    Kristy C.

Was a huge fan of alfalfa - albeit pricey, salads were delicious and I did order weekly. I never complained when toppings in my salad were missed and ended up in my boyfriends salad, but the last time we ordered, we found a live beetle in my salad, a topping no one wants to see. Nothing like forking food in your mouth and seeing a critter running around the bowl. For such an expensive salad, I expected a lot more and will not be returning and will be taking my business elsewhere. I did contact the team to let them know they have quality control issues and they did offer me a full refund and a $10 credit for my misfortune, but that's not enough to regain my trust when I puked my brains out.

Amalfi Alfalfi Coast Salad (Summer Seasonal)
    Shefali A.

Alfalfa is what my salad dreams are made of. It's always fresh and nutritious. This location has ample seating arena too. I ordered Amalfi coast salad which costed me $18.

This is an honest review. There is not a lot of parking (of course it is jersey city) so take that into consideration. I ordered their most popular salad and it was underwhelming for me. I felt like the lettuce bits were too big, there wasnt that much chicken, and overall I thought my salad was average. There definitely is flavor and I liked the dressing but I just could not justify the price point of $16+ . Although I work in the area, I am unlikely to come back due to the parking situation and slight disappointment from the first order. Some plus points were that the inside of the restaurant looked clean and the staff looked friendly.

Yes, yes, and hell yes!…read more Do not come here to complain about the price or anything else. I am extremely picky about food, and this sandwich hit every flavor note perfectly. I drove 20 minutes home before eating it and honestly thought it would be soggy by then, but it was not at all. The bread was soft without being dry. The pesto was hands down the best I have ever had. Even the chips paired perfectly with the sandwich. The red onions were sliced perfectly, the turkey was generously packed in, and the lettuce and tomatoes did not overpower anything. You could taste every single component working together. From the bread, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, chips, turkey, pesto sauce, and the other sauce, every bite had balance and flavor. I also ordered a cookie butter coffee. I have definitely had better coffee before, but honestly this one was perfect because it was not overloaded with sugar like Dunkin. So for me, it was just right. The staff member was also amazing. I originally ordered a bagel, but it was forgotten. I reminded her, but then I saw someone else order a sandwich and asked if I could switch instead. They told me the bagel had already been made, and I said it was totally fine and that I would just take both because I did not want to be a bother. Instead, they resolved everything for me. I am so sorry for the confusion, but thank you guys so much!

I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. Unfortunately they were sold out of the focaccia by the time that we ordered, so we ended up getting a bunch of other sweet and savory goodies to eat at their standing tables out front. They were making a blueberry soda that day that was insanely refreshing and delicious and actually tasted like the fruit itself as opposed to some fake kind of syrup. We enjoyed almost everything that we ate. The mortadella sandwich was so basic but beyond delicious...just the perfect balance of..everything. We had no idea that mortadella could even be that thinly sliced! We also got their griddled caciocavallo and datterini sandwich, which was another wonderfully harmonious concoction that we loved. The green beans were OK, as was the eggplant parmigiana (though we did appreciate how light it was). Dessert was less impressive. The vanilla bombolone was good, but nothing special, and the ricotta cookies were standard fare. We're kind of two minds about this place...if we hadn't waited as long, we'd probably more enthusiastic and eager to come back, but the conditions on the ground make it more like 3.5 stars. We're rounding up though because it was pretty good and we'd like to try it again on a very different day if we're back in the area.
