It only takes one bad experience to ruin my opinion. Used to be our "favorite" place to eat Mexican. Tonight however I placed an online order which was accepted and my credit card charged. Approximately 30 minutes later I get a notification that my order has been cancelled and my card will be refunded in 5-7 business days?!?! I called the restaurant to find out they decided to close an hour early. That's fine. If you are going to close early then don't accept orders and don't charge credit cards and don't wait 30 minutes to tell your customers. Horrible customer experience. read more

Nice folks. Good chips. But main courses awful. Beans came out cold. "Steamed vegetables" were poorly microwaved pre-packed frozen cheap assortment. Sautéed mushrooms weren't even cooked. 5 stars because their perfectly seasoned fajita beef is so tender you can cut it with a fork. We often get two double-order fajitas to-go and Alfredo's in Moore has their carry out process down pat. The order is ready when promised and they check everything right in front of you to make sure you get home with what you ordered. I like to get the corn salsa and the really hot salsa too and it's complimentary, so try it if you haven't before. read more

Poor quality food. Everything seemed "half-assed" if that makes sense. Wasn't busy and we were there just after opening. The cheese on the quesadilla wasn't even melted and the chicken was awful quality (stringy and fatty). I didn't know chicken could be so nasty. The ground beef was undercooked. Cheese sauce was really watered down. All the usual stuff you'd expect from a cheap hole-in-the wall Mexican place but at "five star" pricing. Service was mediocre. I recently moved here from Texas and this is honestly the very best Mexican food I have had in a very long time! After we were seated they kept us stocked up with queso, salsa and chips. It's hit or miss. Sometimes you think it's the best meal you've had in a long while, the next time it's below-average (this is especially true for the fajitas, they're either great or terrible). The sides and extras are awesome, and they've now added complimentary guacamole sauce and jalapeño-ranch dip. Both are excellent. When it's on, they're as good as anyone. Their tamales are the best in town. Service is on and off as well, they have a few regulars that are awesome, but also a few duds. One big negative is that although they close at 9pm, but if you go in there any time after around 8:00, you feel rushed and hurried. They are already closing down... putting stuff up, sweeping, rolling rugs, and the service drops dramatically. That is a huge turnoff and pushes us to their places on some nights. It's good food, but as a whole they could do a little better. It's worth a visit. read more

It is hard to be critical about this establishment. Super Tex-Mex and all the accouterment we've come to expect when we think we're eating Mexican food: chips, salsa, tortillas, and queso Americano served in bombproof plastic molcajetes... deep plastic tumblers with free refills, sturdy pine hand-made tables and chairs. What excites me most is the veggie options. I'm a sucker for chile rellenos. I admit I stopped looking at the menu when I saw they had a cheese-filled relleno. It came with 2 sides of my choice, and after searching the menu (thoroughly) for the sides I was stoked to see they have not only rice and multiple types of beans, but they have corn, salad, and (yay) Mexican mashed potatoes too. I, like a lot of vegetablists, am stoked when there's one good veggie option, but I see now that you can also get a meatless chimichanga. It's been a while since I had me some meatless chimichanga. In addition to the standard spinach enchiladas and quesadillas, Alfredo's goes so far as to offer a poblano and mushroom option, too. The food arrived before I was able to choke down the end of the second basket of chips. The relleno was the good kind, the kind that have the egg batter, not the crunchy crap you find on frozen cheese sticks. Everyone at my table was jealous of my mashed potatoes, apparently I'm not the only one who thought the sides were hard to find on the menu. The food here has that intangible succulence of the southern comfort cuisine that Tex-Mex is rooted in. That's a fancy way of saying it's greasy good. No complaints. read more

Hubby and I stopped in to Alfredo's on our way back to Las Vegas from Florida. We found the restaurant on Yelp and the high reviews were encouraging. We had a 30 minute wait, which wasn't that bad since the restaurant was packed. They have coke products so I ordered tea and hubby ordered Dr. Pepper. HUGE glasses. Didn't really need a refill for either of us. A few minutes after siting down, we were greeted with a very large bowl of thin chips, individual bowls of salsa/queso. We were offered flour or corn tortillas and we chose flour. These were very soft, warm and delicious, but only 3 for 2 people. As for the queso, I was highly disappointed. I was expecting heat, and found it to be very bland. I tried mixing the salsa into it and it improved, but was still lacking. We tried adding hot sauce. Again, improved but still not the heat we were expecting based on the reviews. We were also offered a corn relish and a veggie relish to try. We did not care for either of these. The veggie relish was cold, spicy and sour. The corn was cold and sweet. For our entrées we ordered the 3 item combo with 2 sides. We both got chicken nachos, 1 cheese enchilada, and a ground beef taco. The nachos were the best part of the meal. Big chips with shredded chicken and lots of melty cheese. The enchilada had a red chili sauce (different from typical red enchilada sauce). Again, very cheesy, but nothing above average. The worst part of the combo was the taco. No flavor at all! Meat wasn't dry, but needed seasoning.... any seasoning. The sides were typical (steamed black beans w/ mexican rice & refried beans w/mexican rice) and again nothing special. The staff was very nice and accomodating. She was very attentive and knowing we had not been here before encouraged us to try the relishes. We were offered our drinks to go which we gladly accepted since we still have many miles to go. Overall, it's not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit on my next road trip. read more

We have eaten here twice and both times were absolutely fantastic. For starters they offer free chips and salsa, queso, and corn salsa (which is sooo good). No appetizers are needed because they give you so much food initially. The tacos tapatios is really good. It is basically pork drenched in sauce with pineapples and onions. The tacos and enchiladas are also tasty. The food is well prepared, seasoned and reasonably priced. To top it off, they give you free sopapillas for desert! What a great buy! The service is good. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive (although our last visit, the service was a little slow, but it was on a Sunday evening and they were extremely busy). read more

I really enjoy the changes made by Alfredo's since their relocation. The new menu is much easier to read and more visually pleasing than their previous booklet. The quesadillas here are so good. It is surprisingly hard to find a quesadilla in the OKC metro that is actually crispy on the outside, but Alfredo's has their recipe down. I recommend the shrimp quesadilla, personally. They also recently started taking phone numbers at the front desk and text patrons when their table is ready, which is better than having to wait in the restaurant. read more

I was disappointed in our visit today. The 'queso' and 'salsa' seemed like they came from cans. The only cold glasses they had didn't hold a full beer, and the margarita was a pre-made mix. Neither drink came with the salt and lime requested. The Mexican rice was basically steamed rice, and the chicken in the enchilada appears to be from a can as well. If their prices were cheaper I wouldn't have room to complain but the total bill was just as much as Ted's usually is but with half the service. I'm not sure we will be back to try again. read more

While I always drive by this place on the way to and from work, this is the first time I had a chance to stop by and eat. I can certainly say I'm glad I did. The place is really not much to look at from the outside as it's located in a strip mall and that alone could lead people to some false assumptions even as it belies the great food that lies inside. The interior is your standard tex-mex flair that all appears to have been ordered from "The Big Catalog of Mexican Restaurant Stuff", though considerably less garish than some. The menu has everything you would expect, plus several standouts that I have to mention. First is the avocado tacos. They are a black bean and ground beef taco served on a flour tortilla topped with sliced marinated jalapenos (which were amazingly tasty having been coated in some kind of sauce), grated white cheese, and fantastic jumbo avocado slices. They were incredibly fresh tasting and very filling. Second is that fact that they have a low fat menu. You couldn't really call it a healthy menu, but it is certainly refreshing seeing a tex-mex restaurant putting fourth the effort to create some healthier food. The marinated fajita chicken topping the Mexican spinach salad looked amazing (though sadly it was eaten up before I had a chance to try it!). Lastly, speaking of their Fajitas, I split a double order of chicken with another person and the serving size was massive. We both were extremely hungry and stuffed ourselves, only to find that I had enough left over to need a box! Even better than the quantity was the quality, the marinate on the chicken was very tasty. The portions are large enough to have leftovers to take home. The chips and salsa are very good. I'd give the tortillas 7/10, but that's not enough to knock a star off. If you find yourself traveling between OKC and Norman around lunch time this is the perfect place to stop. read more

Don't see how this place has averaged 4 stars, UNLESS it is for service and NOT the food. Stopped by around 4:30 pm with my husband driving back to Texas. Service was great (Gage?) and unforfunately, it just went down from there. 1st indication? Tomato based salsa with no kick. Even the cheese dip did not make up for it. I ordered the Guiso verde and again, no "kick" to it- bland and dry (which was supposed to be served in a sauce!), flavorless. Beans were meh, rice meh. Guacamole was meh- can you tell I was unimpressed?! Husband ordered 2 shrimp tacos. When I read the description and saw cheese, I was like, OK!- and not in a good way! I mean, how can you put CHEESE on shrimp?! Hubby mentioned that he tasted the bacon, and I am like, BUT THEY ARE SHRIMP TACOS! Very expensive $10 for 2 tacos. He also ordered a chicken quesadillas and ate half of it- also not impressed. Maybe it is just us, but with a name like "Alfredo's Mexican Cafe" you would think you are getting some authentic Mexican food- unfortunately you realize the visit was a complete letdown. Never again will we visit here (and we come through regularly)- unless of course, we want some meh food. I am used to some spicy, flavorful Mexican. I had the chicken fajitas which you could tell had been precooked for awhile and so super salty. Couldn't eat them. My son and his wife had the chicken enchiladas and they couldn't even finish them. Alfredo's is a great option for any day or time! I am a huge fan of the set up, so I usually order an a la carte item, anything more and I'm too full and don't want to take too much home. The last time I ordered a to go order of just the small set up for about $7. It comes with salsa, tortilla chips, cheese dip, warm tortillas and I requested corn relish as well. It was a great cheap way to add on something to a meal that was already getting made at home. I was getting the Mexi Dip and Chips at Bueno a lot, but I became very disappointed in the quality I was receiving there, so for a few dollars more I can get this from Alfredo's that is superb! If I do want extras or am ordering take out, I love the fajitas. They are pretty pricey...but you can easily make 3 meals out of it. If you're ordering a meal like this to go, you get the large setup instead, which will last you a week for yourself! The one complaint is the bathroom, it is always one of the most disgusting bathrooms I am ever in. My family and I try to not have to use the restrooms while we're there because they are just that gross always. When I'm more comfortable with a Walmart or 7-11 bathroom over a restaurant where I'm paying $15 for fajitas, there's a definite problem. read more

Don't be deceived by the shopping strip location, the food and prices are actually really good! They get pretty packed on weekends, so use that shopping strip location to it's advantage and maybe walk down to Daisy Exchange and do some shopping while you wait for your table. Full set-up of several types of salsa and queso and complimentary sopapillas with every meal. Alfredo's is known for their guava lemonade. It comes in a HUMONGOUS iced mug with one refill, which you probably won't even need during your meal...so ask for the refill in a to-go cup. :) The Mexican corn is a pretty tasty side too.
