The lazy donkey has the best cheese sauce in OKC. It's not fancy or expensive but it's good. The food is pretty typical Mexican good but relatively cheap for how much you get most meals are around 15 dollars. The service is always fast and friendly and the shop is nothing fancy but clean. This is a great spot for margaritas, they over pour their alcohol so it is sweet and very boozy. read more

This place a favorite haunt of my kid - and we had a chance to try it recently. Overall, a very solid Mexican place. The chips and salsa are good; the hot version salsa is better yet. The appetizer chorizo & cheese dip.....a real good version. Entrees I tried were all pretty good version. The only one I wouldn't get again was their Queso Tacos Iberia. The au jus was lack luster. The meat filler was brandish and no texture at all. But hey....dont let that deter you...this place is well worth going to; good prices; good quantities; good service. read more

I stopped going here a while ago. They wanted to charge me $8 for a bean burrito and when I asked for the cheese that already comes with the burrito to be on the side they tried to charge me extra. The burrito is definitely not worth that amount. I cancelled the order and they lost a regular. read more

Review of Broadway location 10/10 I've visited the other two locations several times and have enjoyed every meal from each visit. This location was no different. The staff are incredibly friendly. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and clean as always. The Lazy Donkey does it right! Chips and salsa are complimentary, the salsa has just a bit of heat to it but not at all overpowering. The chips are thin and crispy, the best! I ordered the the lunch ACP and it came out quickly and was a generous portion. Parking is a bit of a tight squeeze here so definitely get in early to grab a spot. read more

We have been going to the Lazy Donkey for quite awhile. The wait staff is always very friendly and it has a nice atmosphere, it's relatively quiet so you can carry on a conversation. The food seemed to be much better when we first started going there and we are not sure if they may have changed cooks. I had the "Speedy Gonzales" (taco, enchilada and rice).My wife makes better enchiladas and the taco dripped with grease from the meat. My wife had the burrito lunch special and she said it was ok. Our son had the burrito chile verde and he said it was too spicy. Our son was the one that first tried the Donkey over a year ago but says they may have gotten Lazy and the Donkey just ain't what it used to be. read more

Have eaten at the downtown location a few times and really enjoyed it. Decided to try the Moore location and it was not the same at all. The biggest turnoff was the seasoning. I feel like the mixed up their spices, as the ground beef tasted like it was full of Italian seasoning, and did not mix well with the rest of the flavors. Beef Nachos - Beef was flavorful and nice cheesy with crispy chips Choriqueso - highly recommend. Cheesy. Perfectly melted cheese. But not too thin of cheese that makes it watery. Perfect blend of seasoned meat with the queso. Beef Chimichanga - good refried beans and the beef is super flavorful. It was fried perfectly. One of the best Mexican places we've all had in awhile. Came here for lunch last Saturday. The salsa and chips were good. The beef queso had good flavor. Ordered two orders of hawaiian fajitas. Presentation of the Hawaiian fajitas were served in a cutout pineapple with shrimp, chicken and steak with all the veggies. It was plenty to eat. I think a single hawaiian fajitas made about 6-8. Had a fantastic dinner at the Moore location of the Lazy Donkey. They were busy but not full so we got right in. I don't know if the tables were spaced out due to the COVID pandemic or just well distanced. Either way, the restaurant was clean and comfortable. We were approached immediately with salsa and chips. Service was strong throughout our meal, no issues there. We got some of the white queso which, while not free, is also a lot better than most free quesos you get at Tex Mex joints. I'd much rather pay a few bucks for more flavorful queso than get watery queso gratis. Recommended. For my entree I went with one of the best dishes around: the Fajitas Hawaiian. Steak, chicken, and shrimp are prepared with grilled pineapple and a good amount of melted cheese on top. The grilled pineapple makes the meat juicier than norman and adds some great flavor. I have had this dish several times and it has never come out overcooked, dry, or tough. I don't love the pineapple with melted cheese, but it is easy to remove the pieces from the cheese. Unique dish that is well worth your time. Overall above average joint, which is saying something given the Tex Mex options in the Norman, Moore, OKC area. We will definitely be back and recommend you try it as well. read more

Just because not all 3 people ordered a meal we were charged a "set up" fee of $4.99 for chips and salsa that we didn't ask for. 2 people ordered and the other one ended up splitting fajitas with one as she is a bariatric patient and only eats 3-4oz of food. The manager was super rude and kept saying its in the menu its on the menu. Well do not bring chips and salsa to a table without them being complimentary. Havent been treated so rudely. Bad service wasn't checked on, worst charro beans I've ever tasted seem like it had allspice or something in it funky. Then same for the ground beef tasted weird!! To top of off these people have no idea what white sour cream sauce is! I will never go back nor recommend! People giving high stars for pace picante sauce, hard chips and no cheese sauce!
