My wife-to-be and I were looking for a photographer to capture our big day on very short notice. Los Angeles is chock-full of professional photographers with outstanding portfolios, and we contacted about a dozen of the ones we liked. Our requirements were, as you would expect, an affordable price and a portfolio that spoke for itself. Donald was among a myriad of other photographers that we found on Google. The gallery on his site stood out immediately - you could just tell that he was not only a true professional, but his body of work was unique and special. My gut feeling told me that Don would be a great fit for us. Meeting Don cemented our decision to pick him as our photographer. On top of having an amazing portfolio and a long list of accolades (he was featured in People magazine & on FOX's Good Day LA, and voted as one of the best wedding photographers in SoCal by The Knot) he was so accessible and helpful. The human factor was present and powerful, if you will. Prior to the wedding, Don helped us with several important planning aspects just by talking to us. He is knowledgeable, which is important considering that most couples aren't professional wedding coordinators (key note: we did not have a coordinator at our wedding). Just as importantly, Don was attentive to our needs and special requests. He noted the important details and came through flawlessly. On the big day, things went as planned (at least with Don haha). I don't want to sound like a broken record regarding Don's skill level, so I'll just say this: the pictures turned out as amazing as we had hoped. Within a few weeks we received high resolution master negatives which is not something all photographers offer. Don was there to capture all the important events, but what was truly special was the fact that he caught moments my wife and I never got to see. Going through the pictures, we saw our wedding through another lens, so to speak, and laughed about things we didn't get to see at the time. This is why we hired Don. In the end, it was a privilege to have Don capture and document one of the happiest and most important days of my life. I sincerely thank him and hope that everyone will have him as their wedding photographer. P.S. I see other reviewers mention Don's pricing, and while it may not seem affordable for everyone, in my opinion his rates are more than fair. Like any prospective couple, we had no idea what we were looking for. Luna Bella was actually one of the first vendors we spoke to on the floor that day. Luna Bella was actually the first vendor we officially booked and by far the single best choice we made. We actually contracted Demecio and his team to do our engagement photos on top of the wedding photos, from the start he was extremely courteous and his enthusiasm made the day fun. Even early on Demecio was open to our ideas and engaged in even the smallest details my wife or I suggested. Post engagement he was easy to communicate with, for all the vendors we worked with, it was more like talking to a friend than just someone working a contract. This was made even more apparent as leading up to our wedding and the day of his team was as excited as we were for the wedding day. There's a million things that go into a wedding day and obviously having someone to rely on to help line out details and timelines like Demecio was a godsend. On site the day of, Demecio and his team weren't just photographers. Of all things, the last thing I expected was to be complimented on how much fun our wedding guests had interacting with his whole team. Some of my family mentioned his team members by name recounting small moments they helped inspire and capture in photos we later saw. The Best Photographer! Looking for a photographer on a…read morebudget can be overwhelming; fortunately we had a photographer on our side and Michael was willing to work with us. Michael is truly incredible!! From our first meeting with him it was a done deal. He has one of those instant calming personalities (brides trust me when I say you need this). The day of the wedding he met me and my ladies first (I'm sure most brides are aware the Wedding day of can get a little crazy). The bridesmaids, maid of honors and I were getting hair and makeup done, while getting dressed and so naturally our room got messy (just stuff everywhere). He was in our room taking pictures, making everyone laugh, reminding me to keep clam that we were doing great on time (I hate being late). He then went and took pictures of my Husband and groomsmen. He even managed to remove the price tag off the watch I bought my husband (I guess I got scatter brained and didn't remove it). When he returned to take pictures of me getting in my dress, he was so talented and helpful he even fixed the bow of my sash (my girls weren't doing a great job, ha-ha). The pictures of us getting ready are fabulous; it truly captures everyone having a great time. My bow was perfect and I have great pictures to prove it. At the ceremony he was everywhere (I only know this after reviewing the pictures). Every special moment of our vows, first kiss, gift to the Virgin Mary, and blessings were all captured exceptionally. He even got our parents, family, and friends' emotions to our vows. Reviewing each photo nearly brought me to tears, breathtaking and speechless are the best words I have to describe his work. I tried to sear each moment in my brain on our big day but the pictures were so well done I am able to relive it all!!! Bridal and bridal party portraits were fun and amazing. We had such great time and great pictures of my husband and me dancing, racing each other, and our glamour shots. I felt so pretty that day but looking at the pictures I look like a model and my husband my prince charming. I have a grin that splits my face from ear to ear in every picture. We have great full length, and close ups of my husband and I. Every detail of my bouquet, dress, and my husband boutonniere are beautifully depicted. At the reception he took pictures of the venue before it started, so we have great shots of the flowers, cake, candy station, and our guest during cocktail hour. Every moment was captured; our first dance, money dance, cake cutting, parents dance, and everyone having fun and dancing. I have a few favs of the reception, one would be of our first dance my husband and I are looking into each other's eyes, and the second would be of me flinging cake on my husband's face. Each picture are seconds captured in time. Looking over all the pictures for the photo album requires as much organization and patience's as planning the wedding! Doing this was as magical as our special day. My husband and I are truly pleased with our wedding day pictures. So pleased we used over 300 pictures in our wedding book (seriously so difficult because we loved them all). My advice to other brides, give your photography a reasonable/realistic budget (this is one of the few things you get to keep after the wedding). Second give Michael a call you will be glad you did. He's an extraordinary artist; every moment will be brilliantly captured.
