I had a tooth extraction and it was fast, and painless. I am already recommending him to my neighbors!

My 17 year old daughter was referred to Dr Vakkas to have a wisdom tooth removed. The office staff…read morewas pleasant and the referral came from a dentist friend. That said, it was clearly all about money, not service. I am not qualified to judge the quality of the surgery he performed. We will find that out in the future from our dentist. What was unsatisfactory was his beside manner and surgical approach. While I was in the office, he was perfunctory, as in rude to use the word my daughter used. Not comforting or pleasant. When my daughter came out of the treatment room quickly (about 10 minutes), I asked her about her experience. Apparently, Dr. Vakkas used Novocain but did not wait for it to take effect so she would be numb. She experienced lots of pain. We had chosen to use oral sedation, not IV. I have had two similar surgeries, I had no sedation, just Novocain and experienced no pain. He did not seem to care about her discomfort. When he completed the surgery, he just walked out without saying anything to her. Not the way to treat any patient, never mind a teenager. Needless to say, we will not be returning nor recommending him.

We write this letter to warn those considering the services of Gerald Gardner, orthodontist. We…read morebelieve Gardner to be an incompetent and vile man. Two of our children, treated simultaneously by Dr. Gardner, had bad outcomes. One child had a tooth turn gray because Gardner moved the teeth too quickly; two subsequent surgeries failed to correct this; as a result our child's tooth is permanently gray. He made our other child's smile too small In addition to his incompetence, Dr. Gardner was personally offensive. His initial arrogant demeanor turned to belligerence upon requests for explanation and compensation for his poor work. His staff was equally mean. We were referred to Dr. Gardner by a dentist with whom we had a good experience. The referring dentist later apologized to us, noting that he no longer refers any patients to Dr. Gardner due to the numerous complaints against him. We independently verified this with two other competent and credible orthodontists. Each of these three doctors agreed that the two bad outcomes referred to above were the result of malpractice by Dr. Gardner. Although we pride ourselves with not being litigious people, we regret not having filed a malpractice suit against Dr. Gardner. The two bad outcomes noted above were clearly due to his malpractice. His noxious personal attributes compounded the tragedy. He is incompetent and arrogant - a lethal combination. Please keep your children away from this incompetent and inferior man.

Pompous and arrogant does not treat clients with the proper respect or attempt to accommodate them.read more
