Great food great service! Owner is super friendly and treats you like family. We've never had a bad meal here.

First time visit, next door to The Black Cow in Fruitland. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing real fancy, older decor but fairly clean in the dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is ordered at the counter and they deliver it to the table. I ordered the three carne asada enchilada plate which came with beans and rice. The beans were nice and loose to mix with the rice. Good flavor and plenty of sauce and cheese in the enchiladas. Taste of the meat was on point. They had green and red homemade sauces, nice flavors, the red was not real hot. The squeeze had the three taco plate, which of course had the beans and rice. She chose the carne asada as well. We swapped a taco and enchilada. The tortillas got a little stiff on the last taco, almost became a tostada. There is a soda fountain for self help drinks. Service was good, very attentive. It was certainly a good lunch. I really can't say it was better than other places I have eaten. The last time I went the food came out within just a few minutes and was Luke warm. Ask yourself how is that possible and is it safe. It wasn't cold it wasn't hot. 4 min. Tops. I was waiting for food poisoning to hit. Luckily it didn't for us but I have heard several have gotten sick recently. Sad I liked the place but it's a hard pass now. Same ambiance. read more

The good news as excellent. I had the chili relleno plate and it came with home made tortillas. The salsa's both red and green were flavorful. Wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way home to Boise. Pleasantly surprised. We both had the carne asada and it was fantastic. This is real Mexican food, not gringo nonsense. Seems like most Mexican restaurants bring your food out and the plate is 90% melted greasy cheese. This place is great, and we plan to stop here whenever we're driving through town. Four of us used Ali's for Monday afternoon brunch. Only eaten here one other time two or three years ago. Not much going on at 3:00 in the afternoon so we had the place to ourselves. Teenager behind the counter and probably his mother in the kitchen. Was glad to see 4 different soups available. I had the hominy and pork soup. Very tasty, good flavor. Also added two taco as a side. The soup was a big meal, so I didn't need the tacos. The other three had the standard Mexican dishes and no complaints.....except one of the ladies came down with Montazuma's (?)revenge that night, but she was the only one affected. I want to go back and try their Mexican beef stew and menudo. Real draw back is no beer. How can you operate a Mexican food joint with no beer? I had the good fortune to be in Fruitland today around lunch time. I had seen Ali's before during my business trips and decided today that I would stop. As I stepped out of my car in their parking lot I could smell the aroma of sweet poblano chili's being grilled. That wetted my appetite and ordered the chili rellano platter for $11.00. The rellano was stuffed with wedges of cheese and egg washed. It was absolutely the best rellano I have ever eaten!! The meal came with home made refried beans and Mexican rice as usual. But additionally slices of avacado and tomato's, with a warmer of tortillas. More than a meal, it was a Mexican feast. read more

Ok so the service was good. The food was ok but the bathroom was discussing! The walls had mold, the base runner was tacked on and not in a good way. The soap dispenser was empty but they had a small one on the sink that you had to pour into hand. The music was too loud. It wasn't even Mexican music. Disappointed after reading all of the reviews. This is a family owned place and the food is phenomenal. The prices are more than fair. My husband and I visit about once a week. The carne asada is the best, nope it's the carnitas, nope it's the pollo asada, nope it's the shrimp tostadas, nope it's the huraches and the tortas and..... you get my point. Wow. Just wow! I don't know how many times we've driven past this place without giving it a second thought. We decided to try it out for our anniversary dinner though because we were feeling adventurous and I am SO glad we did!! The food was absolutely incredible! My husband who lived in Mexico for a number of years felt this was the best most authentic mexican foods he's had in the states! We've tried all the Mexican restaurants in the area and this is by far the best! Incredible food, fair price, kind service, and generous helpings! From the tortilla chips and salsa to their mole enchiladas. They're customer service was also on point. Based on the reviews, I thought we'd give this a try. I've had really good authentic Mexican food in my hometown in Oregon. But this was lacking in a few areas. When my husband and I first walked in, it was kinda busy - always a good sign. After we ordered our food and looked for a table, we couldn't find a single table that didn't have food left on it, crumbs, or food on the floor. I had to ask the counter person to come wipe the table. Before our food arrived we had chips and salsa. Was hoping that at least one of these would be house made. Maybe that was the problem with the salsa. Just no kick to it. I had a chicken chimichanga which was just okay. More rice and beans than chicken. I also had a side of rice which tasted like it came out of a box. My husband had a beef burrito. When I asked how it was, he said "ok". I haven't eaten anywhere else in this town, but I wouldn't say this place is on your must try list. read more
