What a cute place to find in the sleepy Saturday night town of Payette!…read more Downtown Payette is what Caldwell once looked like before investors went in and built more businesses. The streets are dark and very few places are open and that makes me sad because this could be such an adorable old town downtown vibe for locals! So don't miss this restaurant towards the end of Main Street and then hop across the street to Hammer Time for family fun with axe throwing! El Kamaron has done a great job with their interior decor, seating layout, has a full bar, and an extensive menu that includes quite a bit of seafood options! It's the Torres Mariscos that sold me on trying this place and it didn't disappoint! This is a menu item that you'd see regularly in a beach town in Mexico like in Nayarit, MX! It was loaded with shrimp, octopus, and crab. I was so excited to just eat the meats that I didn't even want crackers or chips. Just let me feast on the meats with the avocado, cucumber, onion and tomato and I'm in heaven! I'll be back for this item alone! I also ordered a holiday specialty drink called the cranberry Paloma and I loved it. It was beautifully presented with a dehydrated orange slice and floating cranberries with a Chamoy and Tajin rim. I tossed my straw to the side so I could enjoy each sip with the rim! The staff ate so lovely and friendly with smiles and always ask how you're doing and if you need anything! You order at the table but pay at the bar counter closest to the door. There were two birthday celebrations going on and each birthday baby (adults in their 60's) received a cute colorful shot in a champagne flute and the entire restaurant sang to them. It was an enjoyable experience!

Back side of truck stop and life is inside their food! I ordered lingua quesadilla. The red & green sauce were fresh and refrigerated. Both equally delicious but the star was the lingua!!!! So damn good and I'm from Jefferson, OR so I'll be wishing. Dreaming. Hoping. For these lingua quesadillas forever more. The hubs ordered ground beef taco & GB enchilada with rice and beans. He loved it! Ate most of it of his food Richie's for him is a big deal these days. The have Jarritos pineapple and Coca~Cola in the bottle. So yup dream meal. Only small issue. No flan but I have that back home. I gotta find a way to send some to Lupita. She is a lover of flan also. Will come here every time I pass through! Down home Mexican food in a nice little family feeling hideaway. Ambience Oh! AND the bar in back is big and real nice! Come cool off and chill out!

My son liked the fish tacos. Our waitress was very young and did not know the answers to several of our questions about the menu. Overall cleanliness in the restaurant side was not very good. Let's begin with the good. The customer service was excellent! I walked in and after looking over…read morethe menu for a few minutes I was greeted and asked if I had any questions, which I appreciated so much. Even though the ambiance kind of reminded me of a gas station restaurant. I finally settled on the two meat plate which had half a slab of ribs and smoked pork sausage which I was told was smoked right there at the restaurant. I placed my order which came with a 20oz drink, a dessert "banana" pudding, and barbecue beans. The ribs were okay super tender and falling off the bone but the flavor was lacking. I really appreciated all the different types and flavors of sauce but that couldn't save the ribs. As a person who grew up eating my mother's homemade banana pudding, I couldn't even try to eat what they were calling "banana" pudding. The barbecue beans had too many beans in it and no meat, for some reason I thought there would be meat in the barbecue beans. All this to say, I was underwhelmed by every part of this experience besides the customer service. I even asked a guy who was throwing away his empty food tray "how was it?" His reply was excellent? Maybe in Idaho? After all "good" and "bad" is relative. I don't think I need to have this experience again.
