Great dive bar right around the corner from a friend's house, so extra perfect, inexpensive drinks to boot.

Pretty typical dive. Gets a bit crowded on the weekends. It's a bit dark inside for my taste.

Hole in the wall bar, which I tend to like. The only problem is they only accept cash, which I think is bs in this day and age. The bar tender didn't tell me until after I ordered the overpriced drinks. I had to use their ATM which charged me 2.50, which I just decided was the bar tenders tip. Had some nice pool tables and wasn't a bad bar, but I hate cash only places. read more

Great jukebox, lots of good punk and country, pretty affordable drinks, I mean shit, they have 24 oz beers for $3, not bad at all. It's a cash only bar which kinda sucks because if I'm gonna be around a bunch drunkies I don't wanna get robbed too. They had a pacman machine for a while but took it out, that's a huge bummer, but they have big game hunter and pool tables, but the pool tables are pretty hard to get, people here are pretty chill, I've only almost fought like 3 people, but they have a super awesome security guard who looks like Carl Winslow who always dissolves a situation before shit goes down. I LOVEEE The Alibi! Cheap beer with friends, always good times. It's a fun hangout. Just a regular dive bar, nothing fancy. Met Jimmy Fallon there over the summer, he was in town for ComicCon and he was chillin' playing pool like the rest of us. read more

I've been to Alibi several times. "Meh!" about sums it up. Sure, the drinks are cheap...if you dig a giant glass of Budwater. But don't buy anything with taste, or you'll pay premium rates for it! The crowd is fun to look at...but not that enjoyable to cozy up with for more than five minutes! Alibi reminds me of some of the bars my bands used to perform in back in KY; dark, smelly, and pickled! Potential is there...it just falls short. Doubt I'll go back. read more

Nice relaxed dive bar. Strong drinks and touchtunes jukebox. Never too crowded so the line for a drink is 5-10 minuets at the very most and there is always seating. Super cool bartenders. Only thing of note is this place is cash only so have some on hand before you show up. read more

Dude, i am a pretty big fan of dive bars...and this is the BEST DIVE BAR EVER. The Alibi comes with near pitch-darkness, vets, a layer of dirt on just about everything, cheap drinks, STRONG pours, crazy drunken old people, a stage that looks like some drunken kids threw it together over a weekend, stains in the carpet, and super nice drunks. I'm not going to lie..when I used to walk by this bar I had no interest in going in...but then one day I did...needless to say by the # of stars I was delighted I took the plunge. I loved the dark, chill vibe during the day, the Frank Sinatra pouring from the juke box..I was there with the older jukebox ..honestly I know some griped about the NEW..however you can still play any of the older songs and quite frankly its a breath of fresh air.. that is unless you play rap b4 10am..the old timers like their Frank, RESPECT your elders, lol! The drinks are strong, the price's can NOT be beat, the staff is phenomenal ..if you have a problem with them go to a prissy bar because thats where you belong! Yes Alibi does have a strong following. I find that people are super artsy who go there and love the diverse crowd. The colorful history of this place is what grabbed my attention with this neighborhood/dive bar. Don't over think it! Just SHUT UP AND DRINK,as they say! LOL! read more

CREEEEPYYYYYYY! It reminds me of the stereotypical biker bar you'd see on tv. My boyfriend and I went out for a night on the town and stopped in here for a drink. I was the only chick in there and you could tell everyone else in there was a regular. We wanted to play pool but there was a league playing that night so we gulped down our drinks and bailed. This place is awesome! Come in on a Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday. The bartenders are great. Good stiff drinks at a great price. A few notes: 1 this is not a bar to "pick up" anyone. 2 people from all walks of life. 3 don't start any drama (you will be booted). This is a no nonsense bar. Come here to drink and have fun. One last thing; GREAT JUKEBOX! Brian and Ron are the best bartenders. See them both on Friday nights. read more

nice little neighborhood dive bar with pool tables, jukebox and decently priced drinks. good place to go for a drink after dinner or a little pre-gaming before the night's main event. last time i was there it was "family guy night" and the whole bar had brought snacks to share while they watched. gotta love that. read more

went to visit a friend and we scrambled into this joint one night. total punk dive bar, but really spacious, so there's plenty of room to move about. the bartenders were quick and friendly, the drinks were pretty strong, the crowd was really laid back (but i can say that of my entire SoCal experience), and there's a pretty nice-sized smoking area out back with tables. if i lived in his hood, i'd hang out here a LOT. five stars for awesomeness. read more

This place used to be the place to be but not anymore. Every time I've gone in at night the bartenders are always shitfaced ( the tattooed one and the newest guy) and it can take up to 20 minutes for them to get you a drink. I know it's a dive bar but come on now. The drinks are stiff and cheap but if I have to repeat my order after 20 minutes of waiting it's not worth it. Maybe getting some dependable people behind the bar would bring in more people. I won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

The alibi has through, the years become a mere shadow of its former self. The B team is always on. The drinks are weak. And the disturbing thing about the place is that no one ever remembers your name there. Try Live Wire instead, on El Cajon Boulevard (Better beer selection anyway.) read more
