Out of all the gay bars, this one is my favorite as they have gender separated bathrooms and totally don't allow hookups in bathrooms which is a plus and privacy. Their prices are reasonable and with two bars, an outside dance area, good looking and tasteful go-go dancers. This place is my #1 choice of all gay bars in San Diego. I never feel out of place.

This little bar is a whole vibe especially when the queens of hillcrest host events here. On Monday nights, Tink la Belle hosts a game night and it is so much fun to play with friends and a few drinks! Tink likes to give out free shots to those who participate, so make sure to bring the competition! Ps. Only drinks are served but outside food is permitted

I LOVE Number One! It's such a divey-homey bar in the best of ways. I love how the interior feels like old Vegas, with carpeted floors, a large wooden bar and mirrors. The bartenders are all so friendly and attentive and the hosted nightly events here are some of the best. We had finished dinner next door and decided to grab a drink and were pleasantly surprised to find out they have Pictionary here on the back porch on Tuesdays, how fun! We were greeted and welcomed SO warmly by Sister Ida Know and the friendly crowd, we felt right at home and comfortable to play. We ended up staying for three rounds, it was so much fun. We will definitely make our way down here more often on Tuesdays!

Fun vibe! Dingy carpets, limited seating/drink space, but overall a fun place with lots of eye candy.

Situated on 5th Avenue in beautiful Hillcrest, The Loft is a small, but mighty place that is near and dear to my heart for a variety of reasons. From the bartenders, to the patrons, and of course the drinks...this spot is an absolute vibe! Everyone is beyond welcoming and fun here. The space is a great combination of indoor/outdoor. The drinks are strong and well priced, which is not a combination you can find many places these days! They don't serve food, but they are fine if you want to bring your own, which many folks do. We have enjoyed a cocktail and UberEats'd something so we didn't have to leave. Overall, while I am not a San Diego local (yet), I consider The Loft my local spot. Love this place!

They're not just great at mixing up a delicious drink, but they're also super friendly and always up for a bit of banter. It's the kind of place where striking up a conversation with someone new at the bar is effortless. There's a constant buzz of friendly chatter and laughter, making it such a wonderful place to just relax and be yourself. And let's talk about value - they truly know how to pour a proper drink, and their prices are incredibly fair. You definitely get a fantastic drink without feeling like you've splurged. It's just an all-around great spot to unwind, meet some cool people, and enjoy a top-notch beverage in a relaxed, friendly setting. Highly recommend giving The Loft a visit!

Later that day she tried to go there with her service dog, was denied entry and told her dog was not a service animal. Not only are they not dog friendly (which is wild to me for such a dog friendly town), they are not service animal educated. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), businesses and staff may only ask two specific questions when a service dog's status is not obvious: whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. After reading through the reviews this was not an isolated incident. It's clear that this business discriminates against individuals with disabilities by denying access to those with service animals. While I never want to patronize a place where all are not welcome, I advocate for families who are differently able. I will be reporting this place for intentional discrimination and exclusion.

Also a great spot if you're nursing a rough "morning" (or afternoon depending on when you roll out of the house) after. My friend ordered some green drink too. Avocado Toast was delish, the bread was killer and avocado to veggie ratio was on point. So . . . About last night was a very generous portion and definitely on the heavier side but very yummy. Shrimp and Grits was full of flavor and cheesy grits were so velvety smooth. Stitch gobbled up his eggs and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her drink too. Definitely coming back for music and trying their regular menu items.

I felt like an after thought. Which I get maybe it was chaotic, but the bar itself needs to have ADA in mind. There are some interesting people here, a really wide spread group. Some are nice, some are rude and so clueless I was stood directly in front of or hit by 3 different people while in my "ADA " seat. The floors were sticky from the moment we walked in. But at least it seemed cleaned otherwise. Staff at the bar itself were very nice!! The restrooms were ADA Accessible for sure. I have also been here for karaoke and another drag show. Karaoke is a rough one, I will never go back. Seems to cater to only a few. Drinks are good and just what I want. Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing.
