I am someone who makes all my regular maintenance appts weeks in advance and does a lot of my own work to my jeeps. Being a small business owner I'm aware that walk-ins are not always possible. I've used Alignment Specialist years before on a lowered pickup and they were fantastic. However I forgot about them until recently. I went to get my current pickup aligned at a standard shop, actually 2 different ones. Because my truck has headers that made the caster bolts hard to get to, impossible with an impact, the standard shops were too lazy to take the time and use old fashioned elbow grease to do it. I was reminded of Jim's shop by my brother in law and gave him a call. He said he'd take care of it but it'd be priced differently, which I figured since it wasn't a standard alignment. Got it taken care of at a fair price and time. Best alignment shop out there. Does other auto service work as well. read more

Bought a new to me car with 12,000 miles on it. The car had run-flat tires on it. It had a vibration and a thumping noise and it felt nervous on the highway. I replaced the tires with non run-flat and that made a big improvement. Still had a bit of a thump to it but not nearly as bad and still had a bit of nervousness. Took the car to the Mercedes dealer to see about the thumping noise. They said I had a bent wheel and I needed an alignment. I told them to get the wheel fixed and don't do the alignment because I already have a place in mind I want to do the alignment. The service writer said be careful letting someone other than a Mercedes dealer do the alignment because in order to make an adjustment on the front of the car it requires an offset bolt to do it properly. I immediately called Alignment Specialist and he knew all about the offset bolt and said he keeps them in stock. I made the appointment with them to have it aligned. I took the car to them at 8:00am on appointment day. He said he'd have it done by noon. Called me at 10:30 and said it was done. I went to pick it up and he collected the check for the work and handed me the results printout. There was no before and after print, just after and the spec tolerance. It wasn't perfect and he said you need a special bolt to make that change. I said I discussed this on the phone with you and you told me you have the bolts in stock. I guess having them in stock and using them is two different thought processes. Then I asked about the before printout. He said they never do that unless the customer asks for it ahead of time. So they get two strikes from me, one for not showing me what the before settings were and two, not following through with the discussion we had on the phone about doing the job right. read more

Easy to schedule an appointment, they asked questions about the vehicle and how it was to be aligned *before* I brought it in so things went smoothly. They were able to dial in my cars aftermarket suspension to better than factory specs and had the work done quickly. Gave me a call soon after completing the work to say it was ready to be picked up.
