Unfortunately this is not a place I would recommend to others. While it does have some great views, that's about all the positives they have to offer. And don't believe all the raving reviews, these are from gullible tourists who don't know any better. - There is no lavender field(s) - A good majority of the products they sell are from other companies/growers not their own - They are charging $5 PER PERSON. How can you justify charging visitors for this? While I can understand recovery from COVID, I cannot understand the ethical judgement to charge people for a what is essentially false advertising. You could waive the fee altogether if people are spending $50-75 in your gift shop, or reduce this fee to per party or make it optional. The entire experience felt like a scam, as you are lead to believe you will see great fields of lavender. You won't. You think you're buying homemade products made from their own lavender, you aren't. And if you make these points in your review you are prompted with a boiler plate excuse of "Covid" or "you came during the wrong season." Again, if you are struggling then make it clear you are struggling. Make it clear the products you are selling--at a significant markup--are not your own stuff. And stop charging per person for these falsehoods. read more

The last time I was here was over 10 years ago. Times have really changed for this lavender farm. I was surprised at the $3 per person charge for admission...cash only. Upon driving onto the grounds I couldn't believe the barren fields that were once filled with lavender. The farm still has a beautiful view of the ocean and the stillness of the surrounding. There are lower gardens with a small walking path. The small garden of proteas are very pretty. What was once the after thought of other flowers became the main greens. There are some really great Instagram worthy shots but no lavender. The cute store is still there with overpriced apparel, toiletries and trinkets. The scones are okay but part of the experience. Balance of Flower Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm (AK) is a 13.5-acre farm that sits along the slopes of Haleakalā and is home to 55,000 lavender plants and 20 different varieties of lavender. The Good: *While the summer is the best time to see the lavender blooming, they do have varieties that grow year-round. *Gorgeous views of not just the plants but the surrounding area, and since you're at an elevation of ±4000' you'll really get a bird's eye view of Maui. *They don't have just lavender plants, but a host of other trees and flowers. *At only $3/per entrance fee, this might be the best value on Maui. *Great gift shop that sells all kinds of lavender-themed products; I'm not sure if it's made using their lavender or if it's just a generic brand that they throw their logo on. The Ali'i Kula Lavender fields were surprisingly the highlight of our visit to Maui. There was over 12 acres of land that stretched across the plains. In addition to the various types of lavender, there were countless breeds of exotic flowers and tropical plants. We enjoyed walking through the fields and soaking in all of the natural beauty that surrounded us. We spent a good amount of time perusing through the gift shop and bought some lavender oils, lotions, and lip balm. We also bought some lavender scones and cookies to go with our honey lavender tea. The tea was free with a Yelp check-in, which was a pleasant surprise. We at on the balcony to enjoy our treats while admiring the beautiful view. There is no fee for admission to the lavender "field". There is a fee for parking. The grounds are pretty and there are a lot of different plants to see. The lavender itself was a few patches by the parking lot. We thought it was going to be a "field" of lavender. There is a small gift shop. Plenty of places to sit throughout the gardens. It is a bit of a walk with hills and stairs. There are no bathrooms, just porta potty that are not maintained. Maybe something to do once. It was underwhelming. read more

One of the most gorgeous places to visit - I always recommend coming here if just for the peace and fresh air you get while looking at a beautiful scenic view of Maui. Such a cute place to visit! I love lavender so this place was just what I would want to do when in Maui. The staff is so friendly. You can smell and take some of the flowers to take home and make a small bouquet for yourself. The gift shop is super cute and independently opened if you want to support small businesses. Nice outing, $3 per person paid at the parking entrance unless you have military or Hawaii ID then it's $2. Being at 4,000' elevation the place was cool, borderline cold, and overcast or drizzly the entire time we were there. We walked the grounds and admired the lavender, explosion of flowers and all the different birds. I checked in with Yelp app and got a free cup of hot lavender tea, and they gave me a free sample of lavender honey which was really good inside the tea. All the lavender products in the gift shop are very pricey, but that's the price we pay for having things that are local, made locally. I am willing to pay a little extra for something that's not made in China, and even made in Hawaii and this area! We got a themed hoodie, three tiny jars of honey, a box of herb tea, essential oils, couple of lavender brownies and a cookie and it all came to about $133. Almost half of that was the price of the hoodie, $65. This is always a peaceful, fragrant place to hang out for a couple of hours when we visit Maui! read more

Beautiful gardens with breathtaking views The farm is located on the beautiful slopes of Haleakala but our visit was off season so we did not see any lavender plants or very little of it. Lavender bloom season is late May through June (I think) and I'm not sure if they offered U-pick days where guests can enjoy selecting and cutting their own lavender bouquets to purchase. We checked in the gift shop to pay the admission fee of $3/person. We got the Kama'aina rate which was $1 off each. Masks were required when entering the gift shop. The 13.5-acre included paved trails, bridges and walking paths so wear comfy shoes. It was a very warm Labor Day weekend so a sun hat also helps. We started our self-guided tour with the lower part of the property where we found olive trees, hydrangea, Protea, succulents, native Hawaiian flora, roses and an exceptional variety of other plants. We enjoyed finding some peace and quiet at the gazebos and benches. Check in Yelp to claim a free cup of lavender tea. I purchased a Lavender Dark Chocolate and this complemented my tea. It was very good. The gift shop offered many items including bath & body, shirts, hoodies, accessories, kitchen and culinary stuff and even lavender for pets! LoL The property is off the beaten path but we did not have a hard time finding it. Farm Hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 10am to 4pm. Came here with the family because we heard good things about it. Was only about $12 for the four of us to get in. The parking lot is on a slant so it's something to be aware of. We came during the off season so I wouldn't say that the lavender were in full bloom but it was still a great view and it smelled great too. There's not too much stuff to look at but its nice walking the grounds. The gift shop was really small but had so much lavender stuff, we couldn't not buy a bunch of stuff. We got honey, shirts, tea, a brownie, lemonade and some other stuff (it was a lot). All the food tasted really good and maybe its just me, but made me relaxed? We love the beaches in Kihei but we are so glad we spent the day upcountry at this lavender farm! So pretty and serene, you must go. We also enjoyed their yummy lavender scones and brownies with a lavender coffee and lavender lemonade for the kids! This is a very beautiful spot in Maui where you can go appreciate the gardens and the high views. Also, I am obsessed with lavender so I loved the gift shop. I ended up walking out with some lavender lemonade which I highly recommend. The lemonade tasted so good sweet, tart, and with a hint of lavender. I also got the Lavender potato chips, and the chocolate. My biggest recommendation is checking to see if lavender is in season because when I went in September and there wasn't any. Lavender everything!! Who doesn't love it?! If you're going to Maui, make this place a MUST on your itinerary. It's so peaceful and beautiful! You'll get on somewhat of a winding road to get here and end up on the rocky dirt lot, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear! I wore sneakers but you can definitely wear what you want...I just wouldn't recommend heels lol. After you get pics from the top of the hill, you can walk back down and go to the little shop where you'll find a great selection of lavender items, including lavender infused brownies and scones! I did buy a box of the brownies but I haven't tasted them yet. I bought the scone and it was so gooood!! It came with butter and some lavender lilikoi jelly, which I also bought to take with me back to Cali. The scone was nice and soft, and it paired nicely with the jelly. I washed it down with the lavender lemonade and that was quite the snack to hold me over til lunch! The lemonade was pretty sweet for me, could have definitely watered it down! It has a lot of sugar in it so don't get it if you're not a sugar person. They sell shirts, hats, postcards, stickers, hand soap, lotions, body butters, jewelry (I got a cute ring that says "Aloha") and even mixes to make at home (pancakes, scones, etc.). There's a cute little lanai (or patio/balcony) on the side that you can access through a sliding door to enJOY any goods you want to eat. Just don't go through the same door to enter the store, there's a sign but people ignore it, so rude!! Just walk around the corner and go through the front entrance. The staff here is very friendly and will assist you with any questions you may have. If you're traveling, be sure to pack any liquid items (including the jelly) into your baggage that will be checked in or you risk losing them at the TSA check point (they WILL confiscate them). No one wants THAT!! While there isn't a lot to see and do here, it's worth checking out. It's a very serene place to visit and get a lot of gram and Yelp worthy pictures! Stay a while and take it all in. It'll be a nice little stop for some reflection and relaxation time from your everyday hustle and bustle life. Highly recommend!! Have a wonderful time!! read more

I had seen the free entrance coupon in the handy leaflet at the airport so I decided this will be a place to stop by if we have time. I believe entrance fee is $5 per person. The lavenders were not in bloom when we stopped by but there are lots other flowers and small pathways you can walk through the garden for photo. Beautiful lavender farm and wonderful people! The scenery was amazing and the place was well organized. The front gate staff member was cheerful and we could tell she loved her job by the way she greeted us! The store had the most excellent lavender products. I am a huge fan of a certain oil company and didn't think I would like the lavender oil from the gift shop but I was wrong. The lavender oil from Ali'i Kula Lavender blew me away ... it smelled so heavenly. The lavender waterless soap that we tried at the front entrance of the store wowed us as it smelled good and didn't leave a film on our hands like some sanitizers do. The store also had amazing Lavender tea and scones (with butter) that you can purchase. Th stones can be warmed up in their toaster ovens on the porch along with jams and honey!
