I genuinely don't leave bad reviews, but this is a scam. I contacted her via Groupon (bad idea in…read morethe first place, lesson learned), she told me NOT to buy the Groupon and pay her directly, which I agreed to naively. I showed up and she asked me to pay $80 on top of the Groupon deal (which was roughly around $30). She said it didn't cover color just root touch up (the Groupon literally said hair color, which is false advertising). We finally agreed on $90 which was extremely generous. She did my hair (my scalp was burning, to which she said I was "sensitive"- hopefully I don't have further reactions..) she cut off way too much of my hair will take me months to grow back, dyed my hair way too dark ( looks dark brown but I asked for a light to medium brown) and didn't even do a full color which I didn't argue about because she called me cheap thinking she was funny...I tried to have compassion for her because she was telling me her problems and I felt bad. In the end, I started to pay her and she straight up lied and said we agreed on $120 instead of $90. She threw a huge fit, embarrassed me, threatened to call the police and even tried to yank my apron at one point. The owner of the salon she works at further attacked me and said I was embarrassing her in her salon, instead of hearing my perspective and resolving the issue. In the midst of many people attacking me mentally and making me feel unsafe, I paid this lady and left. I honestly feel hustled. We get our hair done to feel pampered, this was traumatizing. The salon itself was pretty low quality but I tolerated it because I have a high level of Empathy and just knew her business was struggling after covid. It's still not a reason to hurt people, attack them, and gaslight/ manipulate them. I would have given her further business and tipped her well ( contrary to her belief, I am actually a generous tipper). In the end, she lost the future business, a generous tip and now has a bad review. If you're reading this, please try to communicate with your customers in the future and learn some basic marketing skills, it will help you make a lot more money in the long run so you don't need to hustle people as soon as you get them In the door. Both her and the owner of Magic Touch Salon were incredibly unprofessional, dehumanizing and downright rude. I doubt they will read this and respond to me and try to make it right because it seemed they cared very little about the customer experience or marketing in general.

While that was happening, in true last-minute form, I asked if there was any chance I could get a wash and blow dry. I gave her an out - and said NO is an acceptable answer given how late in the day it was and the thickness of my hair. Again, Nadia was agreeable and had another gal to do this (missed her name but very sweet and skilled at blow dry). My son has longer hair, passed his chin and was very happy with the cut that she gave him. I was also very happy with my wash and blow dry. What drew me to the salon was the positive reviews and the reasonable prices. I can attest Nadia's salon is an excellent value!! Quality service, at a small salon, for great rates. Gives a local "regulars" vibe, and for those with lots of thick and/or curly hair...they are not afraid and can work with this type of hair well.

The place is small but clean. The ladies are nice, and prices are reasonable. It is hard to find a great nails spot. I called them to find out how much they charged for a Brazilian blowout for long thick hair. They quoted me $250, so I asked if they would have availability Saturday or Sunday of the current week or the following. The receptionist asked if I had been there before and if I could come during the week instead. I was a bit surprised that she had the audacity to ask me to come in on a different day when I offered 4 possible dates. As I previously mentioned I have long hair which takes about 3-4 hours to process (and have a full time job that doesn't allow for much else during the week). She explained that they get very busy on weekends and if they agreed to see me then they would lose out on clientele. This should have been an obvious indicator to avoid this place, but I was desperate. I got there and I waited about 15 minutes bc I had an appointment with Sima, and apparently she was still busy so her daughter started washing my hair. I was under the impression that Sima would actually do my hair but her daughter mixed the product and started sloppily applying directly onto my scalp. Anyone who has ever had or done a Brazilian blowout should know that it's a strong product full of formaldehyde that should absolutely not be applied to the scalp. She then used a paddle brush to spread the chemical. She pushed hard and deep into my scalp. When she started blow drying she immediately began complaining about the odor and put on a mask and put on a fan for herself. 30 minutes later she finally asked if I was ok with the strong odor. Although Sima finished up after the second wash, the damage was done. I was in immense pain from the chemical seeping into my skin from the intense brushing, and my scalp began peeling in chunks the size of fingernails. These people are rude, not properly trained or worth it. They ended up charging me $280 and I will never return.
