The chicken seemed like ore-formed and pressed chicken breasts and the spaghetti came from a package. The tomato sauce is clearly canned, although it is a "red sauce" and nothing sacrilegious like "meat sauce" ... We both spent the past 24 hours recovering from food poisoning and Ali's is the only place where it could have happened. While they appear to be a decent establishment, i have some concerns about their hygiene and sanitation. read more

It was our first time trying Ali's Bistro after hearing such good things about it. We got the garlic bread, calamari, caesar salad, wild mushroom pizza, cheese pizza, and a cannoli. The garlic oil was good, but our bread wasn't warm and it was hard and stale. The calamari was good but on the fishier side. The caesar was pretty solid. The pizza was not good. The crust is premade, and the toppings are low quality. The crust really brought it down. Gave me "we pretend to be a fancy restaurant but we use store bought premade pizza crust" vibes. I didn't even eat a full slice. AND that shit wasn't cheap. The cannoli was great. The best part of our meal. Our meal was $90 and the food was below mid. My husband and I ate here on our last night at the beach. We were wanting something a little different than the traditional fried or grilled seafood. We came across this online and decided to try it out. We started with the caprese salad and bread with olive oil. Both were delicious! Then my husband ordered the seafood pasta, and I had the lobster ravioli with shrimp. Both of our dishes were amazing, they came out steaming-hot, and you could tell they were freshly prepared. The seafood was yummy and as was the pasta and sauce. We ended with some really yummy tiramisu. We were a little late getting there as they were about to close, but they graciously sat us, and our server was excellent explaining anything we asked. We will definitely make this one of our stops when we come to the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area. We have a new favorite spot! read more

Wanted to have pizza and Ali's is walkable being very close to my hotel. Rolling solo, I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by a gentleman (bar back) from behind the bar. Ordered an appetizer of calamari while I decided on either a cocktail or beer with dinner. The bar back arrived with a good portion of fried calamari rings, I asked for parmesan cheese and crushed red peppers to kick it up a bit. Lightly fried rings, squeeze of lemon and the marina sauce, definitely needs the kick up. Finished as many as I could, but after a bit fried things degrade quickly. Bar back returned a bit later asking how things were going and if I liked to order dinner, I replied yes and ordered a meat lover's supreme deep pan crust pizza. Pizza arrived and looked good but the crust was very hard, dry and crispy, like a cracker. Probably not hand tossed, looked too perfectly symmetrical, raised edge as well. Ate a few slices less the end crust, had the rest packed for a work lunch. Never finished, to dry to survive unable to recover. If you're going to try pizza save on the deep option defiantly not worth the extra cash. read more

Recently went here for a dinner party and was mostly disappointed. Here's the good- The Calamari was done nicely and their sauce was on point. Some people got the Prime Rib, and it was huge and most thought it was good. The bad - I and two other people got the Veal Parmigiana, and it was awful. Veal is supposed to be tender and practically melt in your mouth, but Ali's Bistro's was burnt on the outside and that's all you could taste. Being overdone, it was very dry and tough. For $28.95, that's inexcusable, and I've had way better for much less! My wife had the Chicken Marsala and the sauce was more like soup and lacked in flavor. Waitress never even asked how anyone liked their food. I'm Italian, and there are much better Italian restaurants in our area that charge less and are on point. Won't be back here again. read more

Hostess staff was great, made a reservation for 5 over the phone (no online option available). Greeted and seated upon arrival even though 20 mins early with a name card on the table. Started with the olive oil and French bread (2.95) and garlic cheese knots with marinara (I'd have called them more akin to stuffed pizza) good, but I'd prob stick with the oil and French bread next round. Mussel appetizers were outstanding as was the broth (use the French bread for dipping!) house salad was good (little heavy on the onion) but only 3 salad dressing options available and Caesar was good but a little heavy on the dressing and Parmesan. White pizza was great, 12 inch would feed at least 2-3. Chicken Parmesan really good (as typical comes with spaghetti) lobster and shrimp pasta was delish in a heavy cream based red sauce, fettuccini Alfredo I'd skip next time and opt for the carbonara. Only waitress downside was I had to remind them to bring my wine but it was a busy Saturday eve. Couldn't make it to dessert but overall solid experience and we will be back! read more

I was really hoping this area had a delicious fancy restaurant and here it is! We only ordered a caprese salad and a cheese pizza, but it was delicious. The best pizza I have had in this area and the caprese salad was amazing. We ordered bread with oil dip as well, and that was also delicious. The mood inside the restaurant is your typical Italian restaurant, which I appreciate. And they dimmed the lights halfway through our meal which really helps set a calming mood. I had to exchange it for the piccata, which in hindsight was a mistake. Neither were good by any stretch. Bruschetta was just ok. No way we are ever coming back. Overpriced, mediocre Italian food Be aware that the prices online do not reflect reality. We found that the actual prices were about $2 more for most items than those listed on their web site. And the prices we saw online already seemed high. It was quite a shock to see that they were even higher once we arrived at the restaurant. I had the Chicken parmesan entrée and my wife had the baked ziti with sausage. The food was just OK. Not great. Just OK. One common theme was that we both felt our entrees were too salty. And her baked ziti didn't seem like it was actually baked as one cohesive dish. It appeared that the pasta was cooked, some sausage and cheese was added, then the dish was "baked" just long enough to melt the cheese. All the proper ingredients were there, but it looked like they were assembled at the last moment instead of baked together. Having told our server that this was our first time there, you would think that she would be forthcoming with information about what was or wasn't included with our meal along with any options. For example, after ordering, we sat there for about 10 minutes before she came by again to ask if we were interested in any bread. Only then did she explain that we could get plain bread with butter for no additional charge, but if we wanted bread with oil, it would cost us another $2.50 or so. We opted for the "included" bread. Why not offer those options when ordering? This was our first time to Fort Walton beach and we found other restaurants that we enjoyed much better. Next time we visit, we'll look elsewhere if we're in the mood for Italian cuisine. Either that or just wait until we get back home where we have plenty of great Italian restaurants. read more

This is a hidden jewel in Fort Walton Beach. We went around 6 pm. It was busy but we were seated right away. You could tell a lot of the customers were locals. The food was delicious. A breath of fresh air in Ft. Walton Beach!!! Just West of the Okaloosa Island bridge. The first traffic light to the left. You have to go around the block to get there. Google Maps. Our group visited Oli's for dinner last night. The restaruant is owned by Oli' and his wife. The restaurant has inside dinning, outside dinning, and a full bar. When you walk in, you will immediately know this is a well run establishment. As you are greeted by the hostess, you will notice the place has a glass front Gelato freezer with several great flavors on display. The place has a warm welcoming feeling. Wonderful odors of excellent meals being prepared by the chef are in the air. The menu is extensive. From great steaks to wonderful pizza. Something for everybody. In my opinion, the best fried shrimp in town. Our group consisted of six folks. The service was beyond excellent. After we were seated. Within a couple of minutes. Water was put into the glasses and the young lady ask if we wanted anything from the bar. Bread and olive oil with herbs was on the table before our drinks arrived. She inquired if anyone in our party wanted the special of the night. Which was Grouper with a Capper and Artichoke Piccata sauce. To die fore!!! She informed us that there were only six servings left in the kitchen. She would reserve what our table required in advance. A WOW moment. Very thoughtful. Of course three of us had the Grouper special. Each large serving of Grouper came with a pasta of your choosing and a house salid. The available appetizers were extensive. The young lady came by continuously during the meal to check on our drinks and bread requirements. The Owner also personally stopped by and ask if everything was to our liking. All and all, we had a wonderful evening. Of course, we had to try the desserts!!! I had Chocolate Mousse Cake and four of us had the Gelato. Got a reservation, our table was not inside the restaurant it was in a tented cement floor area with a very loud window AC unit.
