I would have loved to love this place. Covid made my experience a bit more difficult. I called 4 times to place an order because the first 3 times i was on hold and the call ended. I had loaded mac n cheese, the mac and brisket part was good but the barbecue was too overpowering and sweet/sour almost. There was a long wait to even get into the store due to covid. I feel like their other food is good but I don't feel like trying anytime soon. The chocolate shake was good too! Overall ok meal but wait/customer service/ drive isn't worth it for me. Came in here for ribs like everyone recommended to me, they were all out. It was packed inside. The cashier (WITH THE PRETTY EYES AND TATTOOS since the owner is saying this is a fake review) and the owner, whoever is the tanner man in the kitchen got into an argument and she walked out crying and he proceeded to follow her out to cuss her out some more.. very unprofessional place. the food was a 3/5, overly priced, and after seeing a women being treated that way, I would never step foot into this business again and I would not recommend this or support such a place to ANYBODY after seeing such a thing. read more

AlJoom's BBQ is located inside of Burger Shack. I had the smoked chicken, briskets, Mac and cheese, wings, coleslaw and fries. I thought the food was delicious and the portions were very big. My favorite item was probably the smoked chicken it was cooked to perfection. I wasn't a huge fan of the briskets I thought it was cooked well done so it was a bit crunchy. Mac and cheese were pretty good but nothing special. I will definitely be back to try out other items on the menu. read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday, the brisket dinner was on point. The brisket was tender way to eat no toughness and the Mac n Cheese was delicious and not salty. I can confirm that the food tastes even better than it looks! We chose to try the loaded mac & cheese, and the strawberry shortcake milkshake. The loaded mac and cheese is mac & cheese topped with the most tender, melt in your mouth Brisket that's covered in a sweet/smokey BBQ sauce and top with crunchy onions. The Brisket was 10/10 with the sauce and crispy bits--it makes me want to try their Brisket Dinner the next time I go just to get more of it!! The Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake was so cute and delicious. It reminds me of my childhood since the Strawberry Shortcake ice cream was always my top choice whenever we'd be at some summer outing! The shake was so creamy and topped with an entire ice cream bar + pieces of a cut up ice cream bar. I discovered Aljooms' ribs when he was cooking out of a borrowed kitchen. I was immediately hooked! Every time I return to Michigan I go for more. Glad to see he has his own place now. I usually bring a group of guys and we've always had great service and very good food. And Ali can get creative and bold with some of his dishes. I usually stick to the ribs. Mac and cheese w/ a secret ingredient was an incredibly flavorful surprise. Took family from out of town for the halal brisket. Loved all versions of it and then some . Finally took a stop in after seeing some of the unique and delicious looking posts on Facebook. Was very happy I did... for a city so under-served, this place is helping to change that! It seems that great restaurants are born out of gas stations (like Las Cazuela in Detroit). Make you way thru the dingy gas station and to the back, where hand written signs are up and Ali will talk to you and get to know you. Girlfriend and I got The Silencer to go. Upon getting it home, the beautiful brisket was dripping, the bread perfectly toasted. Fries are seasoned, cripsy, and tasty (a treat in and of itself), and the sandwich was delectable.
