OMG, I have always bragged about The BoneYard, they have never disappointed me in the past, until Saturday, March 20, 2026, I had a large order, we order 10 meals, well when they got back it was a total disaster, first, they shorted us a meal, second, the ribs looked and tasted like they cooked them a week ago, they were not the ribs they are known for, third, the potatoes were rock hard with the center of each potatoes' was dark in the center like when the potato is rotten and was rock hard, fourth, they did not even bother to mark the meals so we would know exactly what we was getting, fifth, the broasted chicken was terrible, dry, no crust, dark as if they cooked it earlier and drop it back into the grease to warm it. I will NEVER go there again. My bill was $300, and the only thing that did not disappoint was the BBQ sauce. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!! read more

Sauce comes on the side and the sauce is good. However, ribs are low quality, mostly bone and fat. Very little lean meat. Tough, dry and not one good meaty bite out of the entire slab! Obviously this restaurant is pumping out a high volume of ribs to their diners at a reasonable price while compromising quality. The ribs had great flavor but were a little chewy, fried shrimp was perfectly cooked, the chicken was too hard and lacked on taste, just wasn't that good at all. I live in Los Angeles and was disappointed to learn that the Boneyard on Orchard Lake closed. During the Thanksgiving holiday, I was in town, and my family learned that the Boneyard still had their Dearborn location open. The owner was so nice to all of us; the food was terrific, and he even gave me a bottle of their famous barbeque sauce to take back to LA. Anyone who used to patronize the Farmington Hills location should make the trek to the Boneyard's original location. This restaurant knows how to keep its customers coming back. read more

Solid food, but subpar customer service. First time at this location in several years and I probably won't be back. We used to go here all the time growing up, but once we moved to north Oakland we've been going to the Farmington hills location. On our most recent visit for Memorial Day, we had the rib tips starter, the chicken and ribs combo and my mom got the triple play. As usual a ton of value. The issues I had mainly stem from the fact the chicken was a bit on the burnt side compared to the Farmington hills location, the lack of green onion(boneyard staple) and the snappy waitress who acted like she couldn't be bothered to actually wait on us. On a pure value basis, few places will beat Boneyard. You get like 2 pounds of food for 23 bucks. Enough to share and enough for multiple meals. read more

Terrible food and surly waitress. I meet some friends monthly at Boneyard, Dearborn Heights, for lunch, but after today, I'll never return. My baked potato was baked many times I'm sure. the skin was like leather and the potato was desicated inside. Only about two tablespoons of potato in the middle was soft enough to eat. My ribs were overcooked and I was served only three ribs when I ordered the four rib snack. I sent the ribs back two times and was served the same inedible meat. I meet with 3 friends every month for lunch here, and it's usually good with good service. I"ll never return after the awful lunch and service from Jessica I had today. At one point I said, just cancel my lunch order, but they refused, even though I had only eaten my bread. You lost a good customer today. read more

First time here and I think the ribs are amazing!! Finally a barbecue place that has ribs that are perfectly charged with the right amount of barbecue sauce. They are moist and so flavorful. The potatoes are delicious, and portions are huge! The coleslaw is delicious, it has the right amount of sweetness and carrot. The Greek side salad was also delicious. The owners here are very nice and very welcoming . Our waitress, Caitly, was very friendly and very efficient. She made us feel very welcome and was always there for us. The service was terrible never came back to check, never picked up our dirty dishes, the waitress actually sat a a table next to us and ate a meal while not noticing my table needed assistance, ribs were all fat no meat, potatoes were cold and some bigger cottage potatoes were ice cold on the inside. Another solid visit at the Boneyard! We enjoyed the family feast which included a very large Greek salad, full rack of BBQ ribs, several pieces of broasted chicken, several pieces of garlic bread and a "bed" later of thick potato chips. I gotta say that I really always wish the potato chips were not underneath as they do get a little soggy but hey that's the way they roll. Almost every rib was superb...one or two were a little tough. The broasted chicken if you aren't familiar is close to a fried chicken style - but not - it still has a skin that is sorta air fried but no grease. It's moist and juicy.... definitely good and I don't think we have ever ordered BBQ chicken there. Chips are solid too. The Greek salad comes with pickled beets, green olives, banana peppers, red onions, feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and a Greek dressing. I'm not the biggest fan of the dressing but my mother-in-law adds a little ranch which gives it a good balance (in our opinion). read more

Nostalgic memories flooded when I came here for the first time as an adult recently. I remember being a child and my mom would bring back a to go container and I would steal the bread out of it. Never had the actual food so I figured, what the hell, let's try some. Came in, party of one in a booth, and ordered a porterhouse medium and, since they are known for BBQ, the Bone Yard Special which is 5-6 bones and sides. Every dish came with that magical bread The steak was ok. Nothing to really rave about. I was in a steak mood and was feeling lucky. I ate through it and devoured the bread no harm no foul... ...the ribs...I was disappointed. I expected slow cooked, piping hot, meat falling off the bone, and possibly smothered in the sauce that sometimes got on the bread I ate in my younger days. What I got were tough ribs that got less tough towards the palatable middle ribs and maybe they rubbeda bit of the sauce on them as they cooked them. Maybe I had to request extra sauce. Again, ate through the it and devoured the bread. The sides were palatable. I needed leaving with a container full of "fries" which were thickly cut; if a potato chip and house potatoes had a baby. It isn't fair! I grew up and constantly was heard about this place as my mother went here so often and now that it was my turn at bat...it was just fine. No, I will give them a run back at redemption. I'll even put some respect on their name and get a full slab to see if that will make a difference but I believe this place may deserve it's hype...or this could be a case of the average patron exclusively goes here for BBQ and has not experienced serious competitors. read more

Had dinner here the other night and was really disappointed. Ironically, the worst tasting thing we ordered were the ribs. They looked like they'd been sitting out all day. They were supposed to be "lean and meaty," but they were a pretty fatty, pretty tough and nit meaty. The fried shrimp were actually pretty good. Everything was else was just ok. Also, this is during the COVID pandemic and we observed quite a few workers improperly wearing masks, below their chins (not covering their mouths or noses) while handling and prepping food. Congratulations to 50 year's a Metro Detroit Classic with 3 locations. Dearborn Heights we visit, been to Livonia location a few times many year's ago.
