Food was amazing!! and so cheap! Our server was so helpful and gave us recommendations for around the city! Highly recommend

Vegetarian omelette with Swiss cheese and allo mon coco potatoes

We had breakfast here on our first day in Montreal. The restaurant is nice and very spacious. We both ordered omelettes and the allo mon coco potatoes (basically mashed home fries). The omelettes were very good and we really enjoyed the potatoes. The food was good, but not outstanding. Our server was nice and made sure my coffee was filled most of the time, but he kind of forgot about us toward the end of our meal. It was hard to flag him down for our bill.

Breakfast cooked just the way we like it

Huge breakfast menu, food cooked perfectly, delightful wait staff who do speak English if you ask politely. They even have English menus.

I love crepes, so I was excited to try one; it was gigantic and flavourful. There was a little too much cream, which was the only downside. The freshly squeezed orange juice and latte were perfect complements to the meal. I wish they would have provided a menu in English, but otherwise it was a nice experience. Come here with a big appetite and you will have an enjoyable meal!

Really nice chain of breakfast and brunch restaurants. The menu is large but mostly focuses on egg dishes, there are some sandwiches and wraps as well. I got an omelette, my husband got two eggs with bacon on the side and our friend France, got a Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. All the food was good, they serve large orders, so better be hungry. Their freshly squeezed Orange juice is so delicious...you can taste the pulp.

WARNING: The portions are HUGE! Delicious, but HUGE!! Our family of five stopped by Allo Mon Coco for breakfast while we were in Montreal. It wasn't terribly busy, so we weren't sure what to expect. What we received was fast, friendly service and a delicious meal. Every single of us loved what we ordered.

    Reuben sandwich and Cassaroll

A very ok dining experience overall. The waitress was kind and the restaurant was clean and trendy. The Reuben sandwiches quite good (we loved the quality of the brioche bread they used!), but we were left very disappointed by the quality of the cassaroll. It was a big jumble of a mess that did not look nor taste good. We also spent $8 on a small Berries and Pomegranate "smoothie" which honestly had the texture of foamy, watered-down milk - not at all what I would expect when ordering a smoothie. Would not return or recommend, sadly!

These two dishes were amazing. I'll be back for a third trip before leaving Montreal.

Great food, great portions. Prices have gone up since the last few times I had gone in previous years but likely due to inflation and increased COVID precautions/protocols. They are very cautious with COVID and this is great when you're going there to consume food. They have the best potatoes and unlimited coffee! Very clean and service was great though they were very busy!

I knew that I would like this place when I saw that they used whisks around the main ceiling light as decoration! Service was fast. It seems they had several people bringing out our order so that the waitresses could take down others orders quickly. The potatoes were fresh, hot and delicious no matter what form they took. My goodness, our food came with the largest fruit bowl as a side ever and not just the tired hard pieces of melon and grapes. Just so colorful and flavorful! A few of us got Eggs Benedict, but no matter what we got, it was up to that point the best breakfast that we had in Montreal. We thought about going there again, but we always want to try new things. I can see us going there when we return to Montreal!

Excellent food and service in a lovely, well-kept restaurant. A bit of a dicey neighborhood, but well worth the visit.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

Food was just okay; foie gras was overly sauced. Service was the main issue. My cappuccino was mostly foam, and the replacement was still charged on the bill. The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. The modern, upscale interior sets the tone for a fancy brunch experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. Foie gras for breakfast? Absolutely yes. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
