I was really pleased that he tried to fix it and showed us why it was beyond repair. We purchased a new system and got a very fair price. As part of the installation he and his team fixed a major error that the builder created when they put it in. Doing that fix will save us a lot in cooling costs and make our new system much more efficient. Tim's team came out a couple of times in order to remove the old system and install the new one. His guys were VERY clean and tidy at all times. They even put down plastic in the closet over our clothes so they didn't get dusty from the changeover. They cleaned up everything and even their appearance was clean and neat. The job they do is hard and it's hot, (in peoples attics) so it made me have even more respect for them that they took the time to be respectful of our house and also look professional. Tim took the time to explain things to me very patiently and answer several dumb questions of mine. I really appreciated that and in the process he helped me understand the whole HVAC system. As a result we are more educated about how to make the new system last and how to actually make it work for us and our budget. I can't recommend this company more highly. We were looking for a diagnosis and an estimate for repair or replacement. Derek said we had an old unit and the compressor windings were broken. He agreed to send us an estimate. After Derek left, I noticed my thermostat was off, which meant the whole unit was off. My husband reached out to Derek and was told he had turned everything off before leaving. We weren't advised of this before Derek left, had not agreed to any work or set up a return date, and were left in the 100+ degree heat. The off/on switch is on the unit, which is on the roof. There was no offer to come turn the unit back on. Note the unit was working when temps are below 95 degrees. I would have liked to have had a choice in whether he was turning the entire unit off and leaving us with no AC. The estimate was $5000 to replace the compressor or $13,000 for a new unit. Needless to say I had to call someone else out to turn the unit back on. At that time, I was told the we ultimately needed a new unit, as we have an old unit and when the compressor gets too hot, it turns off. Makes sense. In looking at whole sale new units they run about $4000.

The salesperson who came out told me my ducts were "ripped" and needed full replacement, quoting nearly $6,000. He stated this was the only solution to resolve the smell. After I explained that I could not afford that, he then strongly pushed a $1,300 air purifier as something I "really should" purchase. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion from an independent duct specialist and shared the same photos. I was told the ducts are intact and that the outer layer condition does not impact airflow or cause odor. I was also advised that a rain-related musty smell is more consistent with a moisture issue, such as a roof or pipe leak -- not duct failure. This experience was extremely stressful. Being presented with a costly, urgent repair and then upsold an air purifier -- only to later learn the ducts may not be the issue at all -- left me feeling misled. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to major HVAC duct replacements.

If you're looking for honest, reliable air conditioning service, I can't recommend All A/C enough. Drew, the owner, is someone who immediately stands out for his transparency and professionalism. From the very first time he came to our home, he was upfront about the condition of our unit, explaining that it hadn't been properly maintained by the previous owners and likely didn't have many years left. It's rare to find someone in this industry who gives you that level of clarity without trying to upsell you. Over the years, Drew has come through for us time and time again. Whenever our AC unexpectedly shut off, he made it a priority to get us up and running again as quickly as possible. I've never once felt like I was about to get ripped off -- something that's unfortunately common when dealing with home repairs. I should add that I was once an A/C technician (for 16) years. This is the first time that I have ever called another A/C person (I'm much older now, and most of my equipment has been sold off), and I was expecting the all-to-often bad diagnostics and overpriced quote. This is my first review ever for any company. My experience with ALL A/C & HEATING, INC. today was amazing. I called Drew last week to make an appointment to fix the AC unit, I was not getting cool air upstairs.He arrived on time, took a look at the unit, he said nothing wrong with the unit, just the wire was not connected. He refused to get paid for his services. It is very hard to find an honest company these days. Honest and very timely!Will definitely call Drew again when needed. We had been dealing with uneven cooling, with two bedrooms consistently running very hot despite the thermostat being set to 70°F during the summer. I suspected poor duct layout was the issue, and after getting five different quotes, every contractor told me there was no attic access to redo the ductwork. Their only solution was mini-splits, with estimates ranging from $16,000 to $21,000. Josue approached the problem differently. He personally went into the attic, recorded video, and clearly showed how he could create an access point to reach and fix the problematic ductwork. Instead of pushing a more expensive alternative, he provided a solution that addressed the root issue. He ultimately quoted us for a full ductwork redesign and system replacement at a very fair and reasonable price, using a high-quality American Standard system. Throughout the process, he was extremely responsive to my questions via text and was easy to coordinate with. Josue and his crew completed the entire project--including demo, redesign, and installation of new ducts and system--in just two days. The results have been excellent. I'm very glad we found Best Tech and will absolutely consider them for future projects. It also feels great to support a local business and neighbor.
