I called to inquire about purchasing a new motor for my noisy A/C condenser, which sits in our back patio area. He spent a lot of time to help me find the correct motor that I needed. I decide to have them install it and a new fan blade to quiet it down. He installed them and checked out the system. Since everything was OK, he suggested moving the whole condenser unit to the side of the house away from the patio. He did a great job, and we are so happy with the solution to quiet down our patio. Mathew Mathias was prompt, respectful, competent and thorough as he replaced our air filter then cleaned and tested our AC unit. We got all kinds of technical information, like: Capacitor CFM Fan Motor - 7.5 reading in the 6.2 and so it might fail in the future. They can install a (permanent) one for $340. Our Freon was full but it costs $200/lb. and we'd need 8-13 lbs. If/when we do need a whole new unit, he'd recommend that plus "new duct work" costing around $15-20k, so we can plan ahead. Our Refrigerant R-22 has been discontinued, units with R-410A will be discontinued soon, and the new refrigerants are R-54b or R-32. Super good information and no pressure upselling to get us to do more that day. Mr. Mathias was very pleasant to talk to and we were feeling comfortable enough to talk about our families. We wholeheartedly recommend J&M to come out for routine service and maintenance. It was only $108 today. I will post some before and after photos. read more

J&M during the past few days have made every effort into getting our A/C system back on line as soon as they possibly could and they reached out me me multiple times to keep us updated. Until they received a replacement part from the factory they were limited as to what they could do until the replacement part arrived but they did send over a technician to set up a small room A/C unit that allowed us to stay on our home until the repair could be made. Without that we would have had to board our dogs and stay in a hotel. Thanks to J&M we were able to avoid that. Yesterday a technician arrived with the replacement part and he worked in over 100 degree heat for over 4 hours to get the unit back into normal operation and to get our lives back on track. J&M had no control over the system braking down shortly after it was installed, as it was a defective part from the manufacturer that failed and not the fault of J&M. read more

I needed to find a new HVAC company as my previous one stopped servicing our area after 10 years. I knew right away I would try J & M as they are in the same area where we reside. Our AC had gone out and we were w/o cool air for 4 days in triple digit temperatures. The inside of our home was 98 degrees. I couldn't believe J & M were open on a Saturday with no extra service charge. I had a call time of 8am-10am. AJ showed up before 8:30am and had the system up and running in 30 min. Needed a new capacitor and filter change. AJ was professional and personalable. He also greeted our old dog so she was comfortable in his presence. AJ showed me how and why the system went down and how to change the filter. He explained the prices to me and enrolled me into their service program. I contacted this company to inspect a persistent musty odor coming through my HVAC system when it rains. The salesperson who came out told me my ducts were "ripped" and needed full replacement, quoting nearly $6,000. He stated this was the only solution to resolve the smell. After I explained that I could not afford that, he then strongly pushed a $1,300 air purifier as something I "really should" purchase. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion from an independent duct specialist and shared the same photos. I was told the ducts are intact and that the outer layer condition does not impact airflow or cause odor. I was also advised that a rain-related musty smell is more consistent with a moisture issue, such as a roof or pipe leak -- not duct failure. This experience was extremely stressful. Being presented with a costly, urgent repair and then upsold an air purifier -- only to later learn the ducts may not be the issue at all -- left me feeling misled. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to major HVAC duct replacements. read more

Matt Day is the sales associate but he is much more than a sales associate. He understands Air Conditioning. He recently helped to diagnose a minor issue that is being corrected. What sales associate does that after the sale? I know of none. The company has responded to all our needs immediately, that also is almost non existent. We came in to replace our capacitor for the A/C. Heather greeted us upon entrance and actually offered to test ours for us. I was shocked... for free. Steve came out and tested the capacitor for us and it didn't pass. We bought a new one for $5.00. They are having a special A/C check currently no charge unless something needs repair. I hired J&M to do regular maintenance on my two heating units, they had a $98 special per unit. One of the units had a failing blower motor which I had them replace $911. I am also having a new Rinnai Tankless water heater installed so I got a quote from them for $3200. I have already purchased the tankless system myself so that is labor costs only. Granted they do have to bring down a new 3/4" gas line, install a new concentric pipe through the roof, connect into a drain behind the wall for the condensing line, and connect the water lines with appropriate valves. The price sounds high but I did have other plumbing companies quote up to $2000 and they weren't even going to do it to code. However, I am expecting the quality of work to be superior for this high of a price so I will update this review after completion with photos. I want clean straight plumbing lines, no shortcuts on any of the work. read more

I recently purchased an entire new HVAC system duct work and all. Matt the sales rep came out and was great at that first meeting. I was confused and unsure of how the system worked and called a few times to ask questions. Once I finally made the decision to go with them and move forward Matt came out again for some measurements. I was still a little unsure that the system he was selling me was indeed going to make me happy. He was very good at his job and I still moved forward. Once installed, it wasn't making me happy and it was very expensive. My advice is that Matt needs to LISTEN to the customer and not TELL them what they want. He was my only negative of this buying experience. Now, the technicians, the management, the office staff, the ENTIRE companies customer service is BEYOND FABULOUS! You will not find a better company to work with. Yes, they're more expensive, but the service and the product is worth every single extra cent. My situation was a fluke, but they had to come out several times and NEVER made me wait, never acted annoyed and always showed up on time with professional, respectful and knowledgeable attitudes. I had a problem with the AC tripping the breaker and a leak from the furnace. Had 3 techs come out to diagnose and repair the issues. 2 visits later and they failed to address the issues correctly. Granted, techs were professional, clean and very thorough in their explanations as to what they thought were the causes but unfortunately it took the 3rd tech ( Andrew) to get the leak repaired. I was billed for $ 1400 total for all this diagnostic (mostly incorrect) work and seal replaced to the furnace gauge. AC tripping not resolved. They found the possible causes but... needs another visit apparently. I have no problem w/ their work, I was a technician too and sometimes you don't get it right away. This review is about how they structured their billing. Very rigid and pricey. They initially charged me for the first visit w/c didn't fix anything. Then, they charged me again for a "warranty" visit because I was having the same problems. I asked for some refund once they fixed the leak but not the AC. AC still broken. I was told that they have a pricing structure w/c techs are mandated to follow. W/c basically was a fat NO on my ask for some money back. Unless they correct their billing/pricing practice I simply cannot recommend their business at this time. Update:: Contacted company and presented my issue. I was amazed at how quickly they acknowledged the problem and actually refunded the first service payment. Good job. Much appreciated. Now, I just have to schedule the AC repair. read more

If I am not able to post my personal receipt with pictures on here, Reddit, and Gmail, I am willing to email my uploaded copy to the people of the inland empire so that you can make an informed decision! They will not tell you a bill rate. So they can charge whatever. They call themselves diagnosing free of charge. This guy was in and out of my house in less than an hour. They replaced a fuse which is less than 1.00! These are the materials he speaks of below! This is what my receipt and pictures of their work will show you as well! The tech said it's fixed let me call my manager to see how much that will be. Initially he said it would be 85.00 then came back and said it's 399. Then to justify this price he said their bill rate starts high and goes down every hour which makes no sense . So their bill rate is 399 because he was there for less than an hour! Or their bill rate is fluctuated on what they think they can squeeze from you! Again, I have no reason to lie and will post my receipt with pictures. This clown can gaslight me all he wants but I will not let him take advantage of others by doing the public a service and showing what they did! I am a nurse and they ran up the check on me and then is gas lighting me on this review, so I act as a public servant and post a follow up review and see if I am legally allowed to show my personal documents my receipts to this and other platforms so they can't take advantage of you too!
