Unfortunately concerning Pristine we were met with resistance and denial. The representative went straight to saying they shouldn't do a heat pump, due to the lack of floor insulation. This didn't make sense to us, as three other companies already reviewed the home and claimed otherwise. However the representative from Pristine seemed to not want to hear that, and after a bit of back and forth said the words "I guess we aren't the company you want to go for". They made the decision for us, which is odd considering we were only trying to purchase more than a standalone furnace. Maybe it was a miscommunication somewhere but it's clear from the rep that they didn't want our business. Edit: Further reduced score based on the reply from the company including false truths, never once did we claim that what the representative had said was "B.S." and to be clear they never said nor verified the home was insulated properly. The claimed the floors needed to be insulated, which was debunked by other companies as heat rises, and floor insulation does very little in terms of holding the homes heat. Poor response taking no real responsibility.

Adrian showed up promptly for install, arriving on time and got right to work. He was very thorough and the install looked great when he got done. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The issue I had with Greentop is the warranty registration, which was incorrectly registered with my name and contact info as the dealer. I traded a couple e-mails with Vera and was then ghosted. I ended up calling the manuf myself to have them at least correct the name of the dealer on my warranty registration to Greentop. They advised they couldn't change the contact info. I'm hoping I don't have any warranty issues down the line due to their error.

The backstory: my family and I were in Alaska when the PNW had a big freeze and our pool heat pump condenser and above ground pipes froze and burst. No one was able to come to our home for a couple weeks due to all the other customer priorities dealing with the aftermath of the storm. I completely get it...a pool is not a priority when others are without heat. So our son purchased and installed a new condenser to get the pool water flowing to avoid frozen water in the pool cracking our pool walls and creating a much bigger problem! Our next challenge was to find a way to purchase and install a highly regulated refrigerant requiring a license and special tools. We soon learned that DIYing the refrigerant to get the heat pump working was not possible. For over three years I called different service companies asking for help - pool service companies such as Aquaquip who originally sold and installed the unit, and AquaCal; a different AquaCal, the manufacturer of the pool heat pump; other dozens of other HVAC contractors too numerous to mention except I will mention my serious disappointment with South Sound Plumbing with whom we spend a lot of money annually to service our other home heat pumps. After 30 different phone calls none would help us. "Too risky they" said, "wouldn't be able to warranty the work" said others. The truth? Our problem was simply too small a job or didn't fit their known expertise. Northwest was willing to help (BTW they showed up on the top of a list of HVAC contractors during my ChatGPT co-thinking session). I'm so grateful to Darlene (who took my call and listened with compassion to my unusual problem. I'm grateful to Zane, Northwest's Service Manager, who spent time deeply listening, brainstorming an approach, and getting someone out to our home. Finally, heartfelt kudos to Nate, our HVAC tech wizard, who successfully got our pool heat pump heating water! Yahoo! If you've got an HVAC challenge that doesn't fit neatly into your current HVAC service company's service menu or you want to partner with a company who really cares about delivering value and a great customer experience, I highly recommend Northwest Expert Heating, Cooling, and Electrical!

This was THEIR error, not discovered at install or six months, and now I'm out $1500. They never acknowledged their install error. To boot, their GM basically harassed me on text, super unprofessional, berating my husband for hanging up on him after he completely ignored my information on text. He mentioned he would share our text thread on reviews. Cool. Question if it is all there if they do post. Buyer BEWARE. Don't let the sell job catch you...they're slick on the sell and absent on accountability. :-( UPDATE: Another company identified a different problem as the culprit, and identified installation flaws from this company. As of April 13th, I am still being double charged and the issue has not been resolved. I have been flexible and willing to work with them, but the owner Mark and the sales guy Loren made that impossible. Loren will say anything to close a deal. The lack of oversight is staggering. They refused to do a walkthrough with the installer and seller, which led to two heat pumps being installed incorrectly. They had to be moved, and that caused even more damage to my home. They also charged my credit card while "charging" a Synchrony loan, so I have been effectively double-charged for months. Now they refuse to speak on the phone and only send haphazard email replies that never resolve anything. They promised to fix the drywall in writing. This was necessary to repair their own mistakes and because I preferred to have the electrical work go through the house, which they agreed to. Instead, they sent a third-party worker and then demanded a massive payment for the repair. They eventually gave me a payment to cover the drywall fixes myself, which I am grateful for, but even that took over 3 months of fighting. The actual installers and electricians were amazing. They should go find a new job at another installer with actual integrity. My problem is entirely with Mark and Loren. Since they use AI for their reviews, expect a fake reply from Max below. Save your sanity and hire a company that won't hold your money hostage.

Due to a misdirected email that we weren't supposed to be on, we saw that what they tell customers is different from what they discuss internally. System cools when there's no need to cool and heats when there's no need to heat. Register blows cold air in the winter when the system is in heating mode. Technicians have no idea how to fix any of it, and repeatedly make the problem worse (and then go radio silent) when they come for a service call. Go somewhere else.
