They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

The first quote I received was the price of a small, used car to repair a freeze damaged underground water line to my shop. The break was within 1 foot of where it daylighted from underground. At the price quoted, I was debating whether to repair it at all. I then got a quote from MV Plumbing, and it was 15.8% the amount of the other. That is not a typo, or 15.8% discount over the other quote, it was literally 1/6th the amount of the other company. Not sure if they used a different approach to the work or not. They showed up at 8:00 AM, and left at 8:50 AM, so you know they did not misquote the work to be done. I had installed a water meter, so could immediately verify the repair was proper and not leaking.
