Great food! Great Service! Family Friendly! Our family of 13 had no problem getting seated and served! They were absolutely amazing getting us all taken care of! We will definitely be coming back!! We were treated like kings! The kids were made to feel like they were important to the waitstaff, and that goes such a long way! We loved this diner. The food was more than plentiful and very tasty. My husband and I shared an omelette meal and there was more than enough for both of us. The staff was friendly and they had an older gentleman who was refreshing coffee that everyone called Mr Wonderful and he was. We were in Muscatine for work and we stopped in for breakfast on our way back home. I got the gyro skillet and a cinnamon roll. That gyro skillet was incredible. It was the best gyro meat I've ever had and I've had a LOT. The cinnamon roll was just as good. Everything was delicious and the waitress was just so good. Ate here on Sunday, January 15. Parking lot was full but found a spot at a nearby business not open that day. We were immediately seated and received excellent service. Everyone in our party of 6 was satisfied with their food. Prices were very reasonable and there were many choices on the menu. Did find the restrooms in disrepair, which was surprising since the rest of the place wasn't that bad. Maybe in the middle of a remodel? Would eat there again if in town. read more

It's diner food. It tastes like what it is, it's not all in your face or going to wow you but it's good and gets the job done. Chicken Philly with steak fries is my favorite, the pies are delicious, breakfast is yummy and all the soups are good. It's definitely worth a stop in. read more

We came in for breakfast. We were just passing through Muscatine Iowa and the Farmers Diner had 4 1/2 Google stars. The coffee cups are small but thankfully the waitress was around a lot. Breakfast was just OK. I had biscuits and gravy + eggs & sausage. My wife had an omelette. It was nothing special. This is just your basic diner. It fits the bill but it is not a 4 star place. In an ideal world, I would have the eggs and wheat toast from Muscatine Family, the bacon from Farmer's Diner. And the coffee from Elly's Tea and Coffee House. All served at Muscatine Family Restaurant, because their staff was friendlier. Came in for breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The service was very slow. I stood waiting for someone to seat me for several minutes. Then, once an employee came up to the cash register, he walked away without asking me what I needed. The food also took a bit of time. Not exceptionally long, just not that quick action you expect from a diner-type establishment. The personalities though, they were straight from New Jersey. Straight to the point, no chit-chat. They had a small but plentiful breakfast buffet for $7.99 (scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, french toast, potatoes, biscuits and gravy). However, I was in the mood for runny eggs, so I ordered the Farmer's Special (2 eggs, hash browns, toast, and a half order of biscuits and gravy). I also got a side of bacon. The food was a mixed bag. The eggs were cooked right. The hash browns could have used more browning though. It's like they were put on the griddle, covered, and that's it. A little crunchy, a lot of white flavorless. The bacon was outstanding though, very flavorful. The biscuits and gravy were disappointing. Like at the Muscatine Family Restaurant, very little sausage in the gravy. And it had a slightly sweet taste to it. Maybe they use the same vendor for Gravy-in-a-Bag? read more

In town, visiting from Pennsylvania. I wanted to get some decent breakfast; little did I know that the standards in Muscatine were so low. I came here expecting a 4 and a half star experience (advertised on google), and what I got was okay food and sloppy waitstaff at best. I waited 30 minutes to get a waitress, and then was subject to another 20 minute wait when I said "I think I need a couple minutes to decide". The same waitress never returned, and in total I had 4 different people take my order multiple times because of their disorder and incompetence. Service was good on this visit (maybe due to getting the same server we normally have for breakfast) which was nice because really good service is a crap shoot here. well, not a whole lot to say here. we stopped in a few months ago hoping the name "farmers diner" would mean fresh meals. wow, what a complete waste of time and $$. would not recommend to anyone in this small town. the place is very dirty, the staff is rude to say it nicely. really suprised it remains open. read more

Wow the wait staff was an absolute pleasure to talk with, the food was fantastic and the price was right! You can not expect perfection from a small diner in small town Iowa but they did a fantastic job with everything.I had the 3 eggs sausage and hash browns with a pancake and I was so full. The coffee was really good. Nice and strong the way I like it. It actually felt like I drank a red bull after. Lol but the food was delicious. My daughter had a minny mouse pancake and the took the time to add the bow just for her. When we was done eating they brought my daughter a hello kitty pen and a chocolate bar and it put the biggest smile on her face. That's what family style is all about. Treating customers like family. This restaurant was recommended by the hotel desk clerk. My husband had the hot turkey sandwich; said it was hot and good. I had a BLT. There was way more lettuce than anything else. The bacon was barely cooked and you could hardly see any tomato. The soup that came with the meal was tasty, but barely warm. On the plus side, the waitress was very friendly and did a good job.
