As I was checking in, an unfriendly front office staff member asked whether I wanted the $39 retinal scan with my eye exam. I did want the scan, but my insurance copay was supposed to be $20, or at least that's what it said in my paperwork. She didn't offer any explanation, didn't offer to call my insurance, or even check with the doctor. She coldly stared at me and waited for my response. I decided I would find another doctor. There was no recovery attempt at all. I see in the Yelp reviews that I am not the only one who feels they weren't treated with respect by the front office staff. I want to update my review. Although I wasn't treated with respect, the information that Eye Concepts received from my insurance company did specify that I could be charged $39. This is in contrast to what my employer states ($20 copay). It wasn't Eye Concepts fault, rather an issue I need to take up with my employer.

The last pair I got from Walmart a couple of years ago, no change in prescription, makes me woozy. Eyemagination had such great reviews here, I decided to check it out. And the instant I walked through the door, I was filled with confidence that this was the place. I was welcomed by Maureen and Stephen right away. After introductions and a nice chat, Eyemagination started to feel like an old-fashioned salon or barbershop, where you've been coming for years and it feels like family. I didn't realize what goes into a proper glasses fitting because, I guess I've never had one! You get your face measured. You get your dominant eye checked, spacing, all angles and nose bridge noted. They have gadgets. It's the closest thing you'll find to choosing the right wand from Ollivanders. I'm pretty sure my glasses chose me. The technicians are part artist, part clinician, part engineer and part designer. I was helped by Maureen, the lovely, twinkly-eyed, warm shop owner. Stephen also joined in, and was sharp, attentive, caring and impressive. The two make an excellent team and they found me a frame I would actually enjoy wearing. When I returned a week or so later to pick up the glasses and get a final fitting, both Maureen and another lovely lady whose name I am forgetting helped adjust things perfectly. Maureen really wants the glasses to fit and feel comfortable and watches you like a hawk to make sure you are truly happy with your selection. My prescription was challenging but she nailed it. My mom's sunglasses look fantastic and I'm sure her regular glasses will too when they're ready. The frame selection was super, even for the lower-priced options. Skip the zoo at Costco, Walmart or Target and swing over to this local business that has been knocking it out of the park for several decades. They are so warm and welcoming, you'll walk away wishing you needed a pair every year just to visit for the company and lovely conversation. They run pretty efficiently (from our family visits) and for my annual eye exam, I was done in about 30 mins. Dilation can still be done but with my busy schedule, I opt for the Optomap imaging and pay a bit more (~$25) as getting dilated & dealing with it all day is no longer doable. We needed to get some prescription sports sunglasses for the runner in the family. They carried a few of the Prescription Oakley of interest so it was good to go in and physically try them on (unlike online). To be clear, they were not cheap, but we reviewed all the options (tint color, reflection, etc...) and I have to admit, they look pretty sweet!!

I took my prescription and left. It wasn't just this one mister; even when I walked in the receptionist wasn't very welcoming. The vibe wasn't the same as before. The only nice part and the reason they get 3 starts and not 1 or 2 is cuz the actual doctor was nice and chill. I won't be coming all the way to Mesa anymore though.

My prescription sunglasses got smashed! I took them back to the company where I purchashed them and they told me they can NOT repair them and I would have to purchase another pair because the warranty had run out... They did give me a business card to All American Frames and said they may be able to help if there is any hope of repair. So I go to All American Frames with my best pair of (smashed) glasses in hand. The gentleman behind the counter named Mike looks at me and then the glasses and says IF he can repair them, it will be an hour and a half and he quoted me my fee. I decided to look around his shop before leaving and might I add they have very nice and attractive styles and varieties of frames and sunglasses. To my amazement here comes Mike, my glasses in hand within 15 minutes of working on them, and they are TOTALLY repaired!!! I was so happy I felt like hugging this guy. When I thought my glasses were toast! It gets even better...I could not beat the price for the mess that I brought in to him for repair! So in short... I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My wife broke a temple off her favorite (and old) Christian Dior sunglasses. We looked for new glasses but didn't see anything she liked...not to mention todays prices. Ran across All-American Eyeglass Repair. Their ad invited email and picture submissions/inquires. Wow, Michael (Tech) responded within a couple of hours and indicated that the frame/temples were no longer available, HOWEVER, they could replace the temples with a style that would match the frame. Price was quoted (fair by today's standards). Glasses were mailed to Mesa location and returned within a week. Replacements looked great and the wife is most happy. My prescription sunglasses had a broken hinge. When I stopped to see if they could be repaired where I originally purchased them, I was referred to Mike at All-American Eyeglass Repair. Not only did he fix them, but he did so with enthusiasm and style. Because the needed new arms entirely to be functional, he selected a style that complemented the lens frame. I found this place right here on yelp and read the reviews...most were very positive so I decided to go by and talk with them...I didn't get the guy's name but he took a look and explained what was broken and exactly what he needed to do to fix them...he quoted me price then said to come back in about 40 minutes...I came back and he was ready with them...I am happy with the work and the 6 month warranty...I would definitely recommend this place for glass repairs. read more

My son broke his glasses and after visiting my eyeglass place they referred me to eyeglass repair, she said they couldn't do anything and it would cost 105.00 to replace. The gentlemen told me 45 min to fix them and it would be $39. I was thrilled, now I didn't have to pay 105 and wait 2 weeks for them. The details: Glasses and exams are separated - have to go the back to get your eyes tested and they have all the bells and whistles (without the price tag) Know how you sometimes need to do the dilation test? Well, they have a super cool computer scan that can give you even MORE details. I learned more about my eye than any place I've ever gone before! The doctor was friendly, efficient and knew his stuff!! When he matched me perfectly the first time I knew I had found my eye doctor.. I asked him to please not retire anytime soon! Not only am I near sighted, I also have an astigmatism and it's sooo hard to find the right lense and contacts for me. They print out everything after they explain everything in detail - there is no guessing no asking for anything printed, they just offer it! Rachel was the one who assisted me getting my glasses and contacts ordered. She shared how to get some combo cost savings and didn't mind me blabbing my story of why I was afraid to order the left, but definitely wanted to get the right - don't know if I'm changing prescriptions or not for the left just yet (it was such a close change. The actual eye exam and doctor were…read moreperfectly fine -- my issue was entirely with the employees on the floor who assist with the glasses and customer service afterward. My daughter and I walked in and were not acknowledged at all until another customer came in several minutes later. After my daughter selected her glasses, we sat down and waited for assistance while there were three staff members on the floor, with only one actively helping a patient at the time. Despite us waiting over 20 minutes, no one came to acknowledge us, check on us, or offer assistance. Instead, the male employee began helping another female employee with her patient while a third staff member remained sitting at the computer. Another customer then finished browsing glasses and was immediately acknowledged and helped, even though my daughter and I had been waiting much longer. At that point, I asked for my daughter's prescription so we could leave. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the excessive wait, and no concern shown whatsoever. The experience made us feel completely overlooked and honestly felt intentional. Again, the doctor was great, but the lack of professionalism and customer service from the floor staff completely ruined the experience.
