The first few calls were because my aging furnace or air conditioning had stopped working. Never a fun experience but Deb tried to help me resolve the problems over the phone. When that wasn't successful, she got me on their schedule ASAP and frequently were able to make it out sooner than expected. Ron provides a fair and honest diagnosis of the problem each time and they worked with me to make educated repair decisions. This past week I experienced furnace problems again, but this time the diagnosis was fatal. Ron and Deb worked with me to determine the most appropriate replacement solution, got me scheduled as soon as they could, and even offered to drop off space heaters at my home to help us keep warm until the new system could be installed. They completed the project on Friday and I couldn't be happier. Everything was handled with the utmost professionalism. They also bring treats for my dogs, which are highly appreciated by the pups.

Thankfully our other AC kept working so we all slept in the living room while we waited for the morning to come to call around for HVAC companies that could come ASAP. HVAC Direct was the first company I contacted and Scott came within an hour of the call and got to work right away. And within an hour he diagnosed and fixed the problem (luckily just a shot capacitor) at what I thought was a reasonable price. Scott was super professional and friendly without being pushy with any additional products to sell. He also checked our other working unit just about of precaution. So grateful he was able to come and fix things so fast on the eve before a long weekend in the midst of a heatwave. Now the previous evening, my husband contacted a large local competitor to check our HVAC system. Technician from local competitor came out and looked out HVAC system, didn't test any components and stated "our compressor was locked & leaking refrigerant and quoted my husband $6k to replace it or we can purchase a brand new HVAC system for $25k!!!" (NOT TRUE!!!). The tech even left our outside power switch unplugged so we couldn't test the system!! SMH!!! We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!! Joe K, Service Technician at HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling contacted my husband within 20 minutes of him contacting the office the next business day and scheduled a visit that evening. He came out to the house, checked the compressor and quickly diagnosed the capacitor as the problem & replaced it. And Joe K. even showed my husband how he diagnosed the capacitor as the issue NOT the compressor leaking refrigerant as stated by local competitor!! No refrigerant leaking at all!! Compressor in good condition!! In addition, Joe K., checked the wiring, fan, all associated parts and cleaned our a/c unit. No issues at all!! Just some cleaning needed!!! HVAC in excellent working condition AGAIN!!! In addition, he checked our furnace, cleaned some our internal components and showed my husband some DIY things to do to maintain our HVAC system throughout the year!! Who did send a technician out. For three hours he tested, rewired, then to tell us we needed a new HVAC system. It's only 10 years old. Promptly the following day another 'sales' person came out along with another technician who announced we needed new refrigerant at a cost of $900. Might as well buy new was their answer to the situation. After hours of assessment and telling us all the things that were wrong with our systems we were given an estimate of $20K to replace it. We asked to review and think about the estimate. All this while we were without AC. We called another HVAC company who came out after hours, looked at the spaghetti wiring the CM tech created then told us these was no real reason for any of the wiring, The refrigerant was fine. The following day this second HVAC company spent four hours undoing the crazy wiring, tested ALL the circuitry and found we only needed a new thermostat NOT a $20K replacement unit. Whatever you do DO NOT use these CM. They will lie, cheat you, and take advantage of the normal homeowner's ignorance of how HVAC systems work.
