I give this place two stars and those are for the after hours receptionist ONLY. She was thoughtful and courteous throughout the entire process. I brought my dog here on a weekday evening and literally spent $500 on 1 set of x-rays and blood work. When the vet came in to give me the results I started crying my eyes out immediately and he actually smirked and grinned. He then recommended we keep her there for observation and would charge me an additional $1800 for 36 hour care which I could not afford. I was told they do not have payment options it's either pay up front or leave. After we heard the vet give the same exact recommendation to another pet owner we had no choice but to take the medication option and take her home. We were told it would be risky but I was never told life or death. So I took my baby of 13 years home after spending another $240 on the medication. The vet never came back in after we received the final quote. My baby passed away that night when we got home. Please keep in mind I do not blame the vet for this as my dog was sick, but when I called the next day to speak with the vet I explained to the receptionist that my dog had passed and was told that a message would be left but that he rarely returns calls and I should keep trying until I reach him. I was devastated by my loss and just had a couple of questions for them. Two weeks later still no call back. I wish I would have taken my baby to another vet. I will regret this for the rest of my life but to know that I spent almost $1000 that night and to not even receive a call back is BAD business. Update: NEVER got the call back! We have been here in the past and had fairly good experiences. Not this time! They are under staffed and the staff that assist do NOT know what the right hand is doing from the left. We took our 17 yr old dog in Monday night. Got meds etc. We ended up taking her back Tuesday as we couldn't get her meds in and she was in severe distress. (Btw...They told me the opposite of what the other Doctor had told my husband the night before regarding test results and diagnosis.) Soooo....They did bloodwork and X-rays. We decided it was best to keep her there for iv fluids and medications to turn a bad situation around quickly. My husband went to see her 6 hours later after work. She was exactly the same as we had left her! Nobody could tell him when she was due for pain meds or antibiotics or when she had received her last dosing. Actually, they told my husband that no doctor was in. I had to call from home and demand a doctor go in and explain wth was going on! It took 20 mins before anyone could provide that info, all the while our poor dog was going down hill...fast. During that time, the doctor told my husband they might need to keep her for 2 weeks to get her over this!!! I rushed over with our 2yr old son on my hip to assess the situation. I immediately decided our dog was not staying another second in a facility that had no clue how to manage her care. We paid for the portion of care that had been given and took her to another vet. So we basically paid $1100 total to waste precious time that our beloved pet needed. We are aware she is an old dog, but not willing to just let substandard care (with a high price tag) kill her! Don't put ur family or ur pet through a same experience here. read more

It has taken me a while to write this because the loss of a pet is so devastating. I can not recommend this place, I wake up crying months after the awful sad experience of seeing my dying puppy be examined so rough it still turns my stomach. Pets are beloved family members and should be taken somewhere that loves them and will think of them as the precious helpless lives that they are. I have been here many times, I cannot ever go back and recommend others to find an alternative. read more

Monica P, Sarah, Caitlin and Dr Shokar helped me on 2/28/2017. My dog swallowed a ball. They didn't judge me or made me feel bad on how this happen. Even tho the small ball wasn't meant for her. Dr Shokar was truly honest with me with the options. Told me vomiting has 10% chance of it actually working. Otherwise my dog would have to have surgery up to $3,000. Luckily I heard the whole staff cheering in the other room when my dog vomited out the ball. Everyone was so nice and great! I recommend this place! read more

They are nice here. The office is clean. They obviously care about the animals. However they ARE an emergency vet, and they are unapologetically expensive. In fact that is why I can't give them one more star. But they kept my kitty going and I'm grateful for that so therefore 4 stars. read more

I walked in this morning to inquire about regular vaccinations . The receptionist at the front desk was very short and very uninformative. it was like pulling teeth to get information from her. I asked if I needed to make an appointment and she said yes. Instead of making one at the desk she said to call. I will be going somewhere else. read more

I went there for about one year during that time the front desk has scheduled appointments for grooming for times that the groomer wasn't even there. So I show up and they say that I missed my appointment they used to send emails somehow they had change my email in their system so I did not receive them anymore they used to make phone calls the day prior that also stopped I asked the front desk to have management call me so I can address these issues they never did. I recently made an appointment for both dogs at the same time I just logged into the PetDesk app and I noticed The appointments for different times I called and asked the front desk girl says that's normal that's how they do it and I said it's never been done that way I want to make sure that they both get done at the same time and I don't have separate appointments on the same day and she said would I like to speak to a supervisor I said please I've been trying too, 15 minutes later a supervisor gets on the phone and tells me they don't want my business anymore because I cussed and yelled at the staff for which I never have done so now not only do they have incompetent people in the front end of the office they also have bold face liar's. I will gladly take my business elsewhere I do not want incompetent people handling my dogs I thought this review should be posted because I want everyone to know what they're going to be dealing with. If you do make appointments make sure you get the paper and keep it they will screw it up and blame you make sure you write the girls name down that takes the appointment. I would definitely call the day before and the day of your appointment to make sure they haven't changed it on you. If you have a problem you can ask for a supervisor however the girls upfront don't like to have the supervisor know that you want to speak to them because it shows their incompetence. As for prices for shots this place is very good I've never had a problem with the veterinary side just the front desk girls repeatedly. Its sad they have to make up lies and assault your character because there not doing there job or cant do there job effectively. I would suggest that you take your business elsewhere. If your time is as valuable to you as mine is this place is a waste of time. read more

Please dont take your pet here. This place is not professional. I arrived with my 10.5 year old great dane who needed stitches and was shaking with pain. They made us wait 3 hours to get in a room and see a doctor. When the doctor saw us, we were told she'd need general anesthesia but they were busy. I waited a total of 6 hours and they still hadnt stitched her up, at which time I was horrified and left. While waiting in the back, I heard the vet techs gossipping about nightmare dog owners who expected fast care. I left shaking with anger and sadness that my dog had been left to suffer for 6 hours. There was nothing good about our experience here. Ive been to various vets in our 20 years as dog owners, and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. read more

Brought in my family dog of 12 years on x-mas night , because it was the only place open. I only wish i would of read the reviews and looked at the rating first. The worst experience of our lives. The vet, Dr.G, seemed to just want to up sale the procedures, or giving us an estimate for continuing care without giving a full disclosure of what and why.I thought i was at an auto body shop. My dog was in terrible pain and one of his first responses was you will have to keep your dog here at least 7 days.Just kept saying the prognosis isn't good.So, If you want a vet that practices: Quality Honesty Communication Compassion Professional Commitment Integrity Patient/Owner Sensitivity Accountability You will be better served some where else. Absolutely understaffed. Went there at 5:30am, asthma cat had breathing emergency. Had trouble getting into the place. If you go to the door under emergency entrance sign, it's locked so you go all the way to the front, panicking because your animal is sick, and there's no obvious bell and the place looks deserted. So I call and get a chippy "ring the bell" well the bell doesn't look like a bell and a sign would sure help... I finally got in only to be turned away. TURNED AWAY!!!! Apparently they already had a cat in the oxygen cage and the doctor was in surgery for 2 hours and there was no one available to even check my cat. But I could drive to Lancaster!!! With my cat having trouble breathing. Wow. So if he was bleeding or something acute- which an asthma attack certainly is, I was SOL. They turned me away. The proper answer would be for these idiots to get on the phone and get a backup doctor in. Nope. No provision for that. Just sorry, see you. I will never go back there and do not recommend anyone risk taking an emergency case there. Unbelievable. read more

I have 5 dogs, 3 cats and a couple horses on 3 acres in the area. I was looking for a new vet for the smaller animals -- tired of taking them to my old (great) vet 30 miles away. So I see an ad in the local paper for "Free non emergency Vet visit" and I figure since i have such a large brood any freebie makes sense, and this would be an opportunity to check out a new place and maybe switch all my business here. I mean why advertise "Free non emergency vet visit" if you don't want new customers - right? It could have been a "win-win", right? It also so happens that my 120 pound German Shepherd was bit on a lip by one of the other dogs (just rough housing no major fight) and it was slightly swollen -- so I figure antibiotics and a quick vet check -- perfect timing. Trust me -- this was no involved emergency -- no puss, not bleeding -- just a 'fat lip' on one side of his mouth that needed to be checked out, and i fully expected to pay for a shot or for oral antibiotics. So I drive to "All Creatures" after being told I did not need an appointment and I could just walk in. I walk in and tell the woman at the desk that I called and was told to just walk in and the minute I mentioned "free vet visit" her mood changed and she said in a rude and dismissive tone of voice..."You know it's just a wellness check -- it's hardly anything and if you need that lip looked at that will be a full visit charge". Yikes what a ....let's just say a word that starts with a 'b' and rhymes with 'witch'. Talk about uppity! So I told in no uncertain terms where she could shove her could her 'wellness check', and I thanked her for wasting my time, turned on my heels and walked out. Not before telling 'her snippiness' i would be posting this online. To the vets who own this practice -- simple question. Why do you even bother to advertise something that is "free" when your front office personnel treat potential new customers like a piece of excrement when they come in to visit your place of business the first time and try to avail themselves of the very thing you advertised? Do you TRAIN your Employees to do 'bait and switch' -- or was this heavyset late 30's brunet at the front desk acting on her own? I brought 5 puppies here a few years ago with Parvo and they saved all five! Wonderful! I'm back with one of those original puppies who now has a tumor below his bottom hole. They are prepping him for surgery and I feel like we are in capable hands. Wish us luck. read more

The most amazing and caring people. My daughter and I unfortunately had to visit them at a late hour because her hamster was not doing to well, I called around and almost every vet was closed or did not have a hamster specialist onsite. As soon as we called All creatures they were friendly and were able to help us. When we arrived they took Peaches to the back to evaluate her, it wasn't about money with them they answered any questions and gave such comfort to us. Peaches was very ill and was not going to make it so we had to put her down, they did so with such dignity and compassion. She was wrapped in a small blanket and my daughter was able to spend some final minutes in a private room before so. A few weeks later we received a beautiful card signed by the entire staff, it meant the world to my daughter thank you for showing such kindness. read more

I brought my dog into here for hives and was seen promptly by Dr. Vander. He did not perform a proper exam and said that he would do bloodwork on his way out the door. I was brought an estimate for bloodwork including pancreatitis workup for $270 with no mention of treating the chief complaint. I knew better and left and took him to another local vet who treated the hives with two injections and the hives were gone within hours. read more

I took my 12 year old mini poodle in she had been bleeding from her mouth. The vet came in and said she needed to have an abscessed tooth removed. He came back with of the cost of procedures that were needed prior to her having the surgery. That cost was over $300 the blood work was 220 alone. I told him that it doesn't even cost that much for humans...they said animals are different. I knew they were ripping me off so I refused the care...then they tried to charge me more for the exam. I waited one day and took my dog to TAGS. They did the surgery on my dog and removed 8 teeth that were extremely infected. The total cost with take home medications was $268. Don't EVER take your beloved pet to All Creatures they're a COMPLETE rip off. Oh and their name is highly miss leading ....they only treat cats and dogs....Don't go there! read more

I was unfortunate enough to have to put my 15 year old cat Anna down yesterday, and I took her here in the wee hours of the morning. Monica T. met my son and I at the door, she was sweet, compassionate and caring from the moment she opened the door for us. My heart was broke yesterday, i was a pool of a mess, as was my son! When you are going through such a horrible experience one little caring smile can make such a huge difference. Monica and the Doctor were amazing! They were patient and respectful and gentle. I want to thank them for taking such good care of my little girl when it mattered the most!!! They are beyond amazing!!! ***READ THIS, SAVE YOUR PET !!!!!! *** I would first like to say this is not a normal review, Ive worked in the vet field for over 8 years prior to becoming a nurse. I took my 5 year old dog in here because of a lump that was growing on his left hind leg. Behind and below his knee, but just above his ankle. This lump would grow with exercise but shrink when we rested him. One day he got up on the counter in the kitchen and he slipped and the lump grew to the size of 1/2 a tennis ball. Being concerned and having no idea what kind of lump grew and shrank like this & Being in the vet field I've personally only seen lumps that grown or stay stationary. I took my dog to All Creatures to have the lump aspirated and biopsied, the new doctor they had on staff was fresh out of vet school and could only obtain a minimal sample and suggested I wait till the owner, Dr. Sandhu go in to look at it. No one ever called me I had to call in 2 days later to see if the owner ever looked at it. The Technician told me he did look at it and it was too busy to talk to me but it was just fatty cells and I had nothing to worry about... The only reason to consider removing it is if it starts to interfere with his walking. I was so relieved, but as the lump continued to grow and shrink with exercise my common sense told me a fatty lipoma does not grow and shrink like this, and each time he exercised it grew to a larger and larger size. Being unsatisfied and my gut feeling telling me something was not right, I did some research and found VCA West LA... The second largest animal hospital in the world with 53 doctors on staff all having a specialty. I made an appointment and they automatically booked me with an oncology doctor based on my description. When we went for the appointment the doctor took one look at it and immediately said this is a Mast Cell Tumor. They biopsied it to be sure and just like the doctor said, they got lots of fluid out and under the microscope TONS of mast cells. The doctor at VCA was extremely surprised the doctor... THE OWNER of this hospital diagnosed my pet as a fatty lipoma because the 2 cells look completely different (look it up). The VCA doctor then told me he needed emergency surgery the following day... and we were EXTREMELY lucky we followed our instincts and got a second opinion, because if we would have left it like Dr. Sandhu told me to do at all creatures my 5 year old dog would have died a painful death in only a year and a half's time. :( All Creatures emergency hospital and the rest of Dr. Sandhu's hospitals (Canyon Country Vet Hospital & AV animal ER) should be monitored and untrusted... If you are dealing with anything serious with your pet please take them to a more reputable and trusted vet... as mistakes happen here often, and in my case could have costed my bestest friend his life in only a years time. Not to mention the management here is lackadaisical, unprofessional, and shouldn't be in charged of running an ant-farm, let alone an animal hospital.. If you love your pet go else where. read more

I saw a dog get hit by a car on my way home from work tonight. Took it to all creatures as a good Samaritan to euthanize, so it didn't have to suffer on the side of the road. They tried to charge $100 for the euth and I told them that was too much. They knocked it down to $50 as a "courtesy" for being a good Sam. I work at a veterinary hospital in los Angeles that does not charge a good Samaritan to put a suffering dog out of it's misery. I think it it's a shame that veterinarians in Santa Clarita are so money hungry that they need to charge for humane euthanasia. This is a policy that should definitely be amended. read more

So I've been trying to find a trust worth vet in Santa Clarita. They aren't it. I brought my dog in because she has been throwing up a lot. They did blood work and X-rays. Almost $600 later and plenty of awkward price hits we found she has been eating pebbles. They wanted to keep my dog there with an IV drip and meds for over $2000 ! I have had surgery on my dogs for less!! Vets like this prey on your love for your dog to get you to pay astronomical amounts of money. I've come to the conclusion that the vets out here in Santa Clarita are all the same and now I will only take my dogs to our old vet in Glendale. Glendale Small Animal Hospital is the most honest vet we have been to. I will not be back to All creatures again. read more

Cross-posting here to let everyone know how awesome Dr. Sandhu and his team are! I have been a resident in the Antelope Valley for 18 years, and dog owner even longer. As pet owners know, things happen and trips (both planned and unplanned) to the day vet and animal ER are just part of life. And needless to say, my dogs and I have seen multiple veterinarians and been to multiple veterinary hospitals in the valley over the years. The care provided by Dr. Sandhu and his staff at the AV Veterinary Center is second to none! Dr. Sandhu is competent, professional and compassionate. He works tirelessly to provide the best care possible to all the patients. In the numerous visits my 11-yr boy and I have made to see Dr. Sandhu, he has always been thorough in his examinations, discussions regarding treatment options and post-hospital home care during recovery. Take our last visit, for instance. It was over Memorial Day weekend. The hospital was definitely busy, I observed at least two truly critical emergency cases walked in the door while we waited in the lobby. Knowing that cases were triaged, I was prepared to wait and was surprised when Dr. Sandhu came to examine my boy quicker than I anticipated. He was fitting patients in between surgeries! After a thorough examination, and discussion over the symptoms and history (my boy had an aggressive cancerous lesion removed from his elbow several years back by his day vet), he ordered X-rays. Then after another round of surgery, he came out to discuss X-ray results and treatment options with me. We agreed on surgery to remove the lumps and send tissue samples to be tested. My boy was hospitalized for a couple of days, due to his age and coming out of anesthesia rather slower than usual. As far as the hospital facility goes, I am appreciative of all the state-of-the-art diagnostics AV Veterinary Center has to offer. Modern diagnostics, and the capacity to perform them, can save precious time and potentially a pet's life as timely and accurate diagnosis is necessary for proper treatment. Not every facility in the Antelope Valley can offer this. Erik, my first boy, unfortunately died of DCM-induced congestive heart failure while waiting for ultrasound to be performed the next day (technician coming up from LA as our day vet at the time did not have that capability at his hospital and Erik was not suitable for travel)... Last but not least, the 24-hours, 7 days a week, care provided at the AV Veterinary Center. There are always veterinary techs and staff members at the hospital, monitoring the pets, taking vitals, and moving them as needed. My boy was never alone whenever hospitalized. This makes a world of difference! Murphy, another boy of mine, sadly died alone, in his crate at his day vet's over the weekend (he was hospitalized due to Parvo)... because day vets do not have staff manning the hospital after hours... I vowed this would never happen to another dog of mine. I know some complain about the cost. Yes, pet ownership is not cheap. Medical care is not cheap. I have to work for a living and do not have unlimited funds, but when the competency of the veterinarian, diagnostic capability at the facility, and round-the-clock care are factored in, then cost is the same, if not cheaper, than most day vets! I am simply just grateful that I can bring my boy to Dr. Sandhu! read more

My dog had a seizure last night so we rushed him to All Creatures. Everyone was so friendly and concerned. They did a whole battery of tests. Had a follow up call from one of the doctors today with final test and suggestions for a liver issue he has had for many years. I am seriously considering switching full time to them. Our dog had a seizure and after being turned away from another local animal hospital we came here. I'm very thankful to have found this place. The receptionist was quick to check us in and weighed our puppy. We waited about 30 minutes to be seen as there was a poison emergency that came in after us. The vet tech which was a male forgot his name was very nice and courteous and was very gentle with my dog. The vet was very informative and assuring. They gave us the option to keep our dog overnight but was not pushy . The visit was a reasonable price and very pleasant. They called the next day to check up on our dog . I would recommend this place for emergency and regular visits . read more

This place is located in the cute Newhall strip and is simply decorated. Although the place was mostly clean and the entry is nice and offers free coffee, in one of the rooms I was asked to wait in with my dog (which was reallllly small - which is ok) there were stains on the wall from a previous dog and one chair which meant my husband and I took turns standing (not a big deal unless you are there for as long as I was). The second room I was asked to wait in was much larger and had 2 chairs but this time the floor was a bit sticky and the place was frigid. Time = Awful. I showed up 30 mins early to fill out the new client paperwork. I saw the Assistant after waiting 15 mins after my scheduled visit time - he was in and out after about 10 mins. In the second room I waited for just over an hour before I saw the vet - she was in and out after about 10 mins. I was told the blood work would take about another 10 mins - I waited for another 45 mins before anyone came back to let us know the results were in. It took another 30 mins to get the suggested medication and payment. I was there for over 3 hours (my entire afternoon) and spent a total of 20 mins with the staff. The vet assistant was excellent and very courteous. He jotted down everything I shared with him to help try and build a good history of my pet since I was new to the clinic. He chatted with me for a little bit while I waited for the Vet. The receptionist was kind but a bit slow at getting the information to me - I'm sure that was just the system so no points against her specifically. The vet was informative and offered many services for a small issue that I didn't think was a big issue. Price = Yikes - I was hoping to get in and out of there with a $50 to $70 tab but ended up paying $310 for the visit. I want to say first that I called around to other clinics in the valley and base prices were pretty similar to this location - however there a lot of extras that are quite more expensive here like blood work and xrays. I chose this place due to the deal they were having for new clients - which I was denied at the end. $45 for general check up (which previously they agreed to waive if I was getting my dog groomed but was denied this waive at time of check out). $179 for the blood work (omg!) $86 for medication - which I now feel I should have declined as I don't think it was necessary. $10 for Rabies (right now but subject to increase soon) as well as other shots $30+ for basic bath, brush, nail trimming (additional $20 for nail grinding) $??? an undisclosed amount for dental care. They wouldn't give me an estimate, a range or a ball park amount at all. The prices is determined on the grade of the teeth and you have to have a visit before you can get a quote. This makes sense because they do not do your average dental cleaning, they use anesthesia and do full dental work up. read more

I just brought my puppy home, safe. THEY SAVED HIS LIFE! It will happen again. Something will happen, an emergency, at 3 AM, something I can't wait on. Having a pet is heartbreaking sometimes. They don't wait until it's a "good time" before malfunctioning. It's never a "good time" to face losing your best friend. It happens to all of us, and most of the time you won't see it coming, and won't be ready emotionally. If this happens to you, stop reading Yelp reviews (after finishing this one, haha) and don't let your emotions get the best of you. Just stay focused, get them over to All Creatures quickly, talk to the nice people, BE NICE TO THEM EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE FREAKING OUT, because animal trauma / emergency medicine is harrowing even for the staff, and they're human beings. Unless it's a simple in-out visit, it will probably be way, way more expensive than you expected. Know this going in. Get through it as best you can, call a friend if you need to, but it's going to be okay, whatever happens. My guy had to stay over for 2 nights. Urinary blockage and infection. Fatal if not treated quickly!! I didn't sleep for 2 days. I'm still shaking right now! I signed over an entire month's rent with one stroke of a pen. I didn't feel "gouged" or taken advantage of at all, though. Emergency medical care gets extremely expensive extremely fast, and there were no upsells or pressure, everything was explained clearly. He was very sick. I'll be looking into flexible spending accounts / lines of healthcare credit at this point, since this is the second time I've blown a month's rent on an emergency vet visit. And he's 7, so it's not like this will happen LESS frequently in the future. So I'm gonna be prepared, and save money a little at a time so this is part of my planned budget, instead of A Sudden Disaster. I know this isn't just magically that simple for everyone else, with families and bills and school and such. I'm sorry, I've been in that situation (a lot, actually). But owning a pet means paying for their lifelong care, so it's really on us to figure out how to survive the unexpected. Anyway, all of the ...4? 5? different techs I spoke with were amazingly kind and encouraging throughout the whole ordeal. They talked me down from essentially a panic attack. One even sent me email with pictures of my dude sitting there with his IVs in. This isn't the kind of "service" you should "expect" or be "entitled to", it's one human reaching out and showing kindness to another, in a horrible, stressful time. They have good people there, with big hearts. I am so grateful. So, in summary: All Creatures have saved my dog from serious emergencies twice now in 5 years. It was very expensive both times, but he was very ill and it was all necessary stuff, so you may get out much cheaper than I did, but you may not. The techs are skilled and caring, and the vets obviously know what they're doing, because my boy is snoring happily next to me right now, they patched 'im up good. I should have checked Yelp before I made an appointment here. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the staff was friendly. I was looking for a local vet, they were the first ones who came up, I called and asked about their free exam for new patients. I told her the reason for my appointment, told her my dogs symptoms and she said I can use the coupon. The place seemed nice and clean but when we got into the exam room, the nurse examined my dog on the ground I instead of the table, when my brown dog got up covered in white, gray, beige hair and dirt I noticed how dirty their floors were. My dog had a cut on her leg, dirt can cause infection. The Dr kept pushing on my dogs stomach so much she ended up peeing all over the floor. When they came with an estimate the first charge I noticed was the $45 exam fee. I asked them why I'm being charged for it, they said it's only free for healthy pets, what? really?? I was ready to pay for any blood work or tests my dog needed to figure out why she wasn't feeling well. They wanted my dog to have surgery on the same day. And they said if I leave her today they'll waive the exam fee. They are liars and scammers. If they lie about an exam fee why would I trust them with my dog. If you notice on my estimate they want a miscellaneous fee of $200. They want to do surgery to get rid of some pus in my dogs leg and charge $1,800 for it. I paid $700 for an amputation on another animal at another vet. There's a reason why they have so many negative reviews. read more

My cat ripped his nail out at midnight last night. Was bleeding and I worried about infection. Called them to make sure they were there and they told me that they couldn't see him and I should wait until morning because they didn't feel it was an emergency. He had done this before and it can get infected very fast. I was not happy. All this was over the phone. Not even seeing the paw. I took him instead to Valencia vet clinic.. which was much better and Waaaayyyy less expensive then all creatures.. they lost my business and I will be telling my friends. read more
