My 2018 Tesla Model 3 got a huge hairline fracture on the windshield that extended from a very old point crack from long ago. I went through my Geico insurance to set up a claim, and they recommended Safelite. When I got the quote from Safelite, they tacked on this ridiculous $600 camera recalibration fee (camera recalibration is a button you press from the service menu and the car will auto-recalibrate after driving ~100 highway miles) and the windshield replacement they would use would be non-OEM (as in not made by Tesla), with the earliest appointment later on in the week. I got a few quotes from third parties, with Tesla themselves being way more expensive than Safelite, and although All Day Auto glass was the 2nd cheapest of the quotes (but the difference wasn't that much), they specialize their glass repair with Tesla cars, use OEM Tesla parts, had a next morning availability, and would come to my place to do the windshield replacement (whereas if I sticked with Safelite, I'd have to risk my car windshield potentially shattering while driving to the Safelite location). Andy and Dan arrived on time this morning and worked right from my garage. They were extremely friendly, I got to see the entire process up front, they applied new sealant around the windshield, and they even applied new adhesive to my dashcam. The job took around 30 minutes to do. You wouldn't be able to tell the windshield was replaced. They said if I have any problems with the windshield or cameras, give them a call and they'll fix it up. Would recommend again! Also protip - make sure you have a glass deductible or collision comprehensive of at least $500 if you want insurance to pay out. read more

He also warned me not to slam the door with the windows closed for the first two days, while the glue was drying, since that can put pressure on the windshield. The added bonus was that he resolved an issue I've had for years: a sagging headliner. Instead of glue, he showed me how I could easily use thumbtacks (not having any, I used upholstery tacks) to affix the headliner to the cardboard base myself. No cost, no fuss, done in a jiffy.
