Walking by with Mr. Momo and started a conversation with customer holding a beautiful black fluffer. We were having a conversation right in front of All dogs grooming Honolulu Store . They kinda inspected her and raved about her. I was super pleased but my dog's groomers should be very proud of their work. It was easy to get an appointment and I love it that Melissa does all administrative work on line avoiding unnecessary paperwork. The price was very reasonable, especially considering how much work they had to do to comb out all the matting ignored by the last groomer. I usually bathe them, cut their nails, clean their ears and cut their hair. I'm out of town for 6 months soooo... they have fallen into "disrepair" . Melissa and her team are the best groomers for my temperamental Lhasa Apso. Sammy has many issues. He was nine months old when he was given to us. He was perfectly groomed and a box full of toys, clothes, & shoes accompanied him. He bite our legs when we walked by him. He bite our hands when we tried to pet him. Immediately we suspected and later confirmed that he was treated as a surrogate child by one owner and other didn't want a puppy/dog and frequently kicked him out of the way and slapped him for perceived transgressions. Over the years we have taught him that hands & feet are there to provide food, care & love. Sammy is 13 years old now. He bites only if he is startled or in pain. He has glaucoma, kidney disease, seizures and his hips have become more tender each year. After several groomers, I am so great full to have found Melissa and her staff. Melissa started off as a vet tech and latter become a groomer. She understands dogs and has great techniques to accommodate them. To alleviate Sammys hip pain. She lowers the grooming table so he can walk on to it. Then raises the table up for grooming. She never gets frustrated when he resist grooming but let's him know who is alpha. Melissa personalizes your dogs experience. If your dog wants to socialize with other dogs, she lets them do so around the salon. If your dog is more comfortable alone in a crate she provides that experience too. Note the crates are up front in the salon, not in a back room. And you can see what they are doing from the sidewalk. Usually Melissa takes only one hour to groom Sammy. Today, he was there for 4 hrs. When I got to the salon, I learned that Sammy was shivering after his bath. He has a history of doing that. It's his nerves, the vet is aware of it. What touched my heart was JD warmed up towels in the dryer and wrap Sammy up in them and held him in her lap until he stopped shivering. They delayed his hair cut until he was fine. When I picked Sammy up he was a happy dog, energetic and wagging his tail. When he got home he had a good appetite from so much activity. Now he is all pooped out and sleeping in his bed and he is not scratching himself. I often have to rise off soap residue with other groomers probably due to Sammy's resistance to baths. I went to petco just to get my dogs nails trimmed but since you can't make appointment online and last time I took my dog they told me just to do a walk in the next time, but when I got there they were short staffed and couldn't get him in. So I called all dogs in petco parking lot and they got me in right away and helped give me directions to get there and where to park. Super friendly people and dogs there. I took my puppy here a couple of times and they had done a good job, until this time. When I picked up my dog I noticed they had clipped some nails too short and the quick was cut and bleeding. I understand that dogs move during this process, but they should know where to cut (that's why I took her there in the first place). It was even more upsetting that if I wouldn't have checked her nails when I picked up my dog, they would have not said anything about it! "Your dog was moving and we accidentally clipped a little too far, we apologize" would have been a good start -rather than me finding out. On one of the nails they claimed it to be "broken", but I check my dog's paws daily and I would have noticed this. One the most unprofessional grooming spots I've ever been to. We've been taking our dog there for almost a year. Even though the owner, Melissa, talks down on her staff in front of guests, even though the owner was quite brash with us, I heard they did a good job, so ignored how awful of a owner she was. The sad part, is she belittle other small hard working businesses to make her lazy business look better - which almost made me never come to her in the first place. A good business doesn't have to belittle other businesses to be successful. My wife and I own two companies and would never run a business the way she does. They refuse to call us back; says they will call us back, and never do. our goldendoodle ended up getting really matted because the owner kept ignoring us and saying she would call back. Weeks went by, and she still acted non-concerned. We finally ended up going to itchy pooch; which is so much better. Night and day difference. They are polite to us, don't treat their staff like animals themselves and don't keep our dog the entire day; because All dogs grooming will not even communicate about when to pick up your dog. It's like she just started this business and has been working at Petco all her life. She has no business sense whatsoever. The most unfriendly place ever. read more

Chubba was non stop of smiles. Typically after his spa day he's ready to hit the road and go home. He wandered around the salon full of confidence. Melissa and her team are amazing. I recently held a dog wash fundraiser and she immediately offered to provide her grooming services. She taught us all the proper ways to wash the dogs - we couldn't have done it without her! Although the event included wash and dry for dogs, she went above and beyond with nail cuts and paw trims! Not only does she volunteer her time and services, she is very knowledgeable and skilled in what she does. From technique of washing dogs, to skin and flea care, to proper dog etiquette. I learned that Melissa spent many years working and learning at a shelter in California, and is also a licensed veterinary technician! She is well versed and you can see it in her work. She is also so good with explaining what shes doing and why, and also helping to advise on future care for your dogs. Moved back in 2021 from the mainland. My dog still had his winter coat and was not impressed with Hawaii. Called various groomers who either were booked 9 years in advance or going out of business due to the pandemic. It was clear to me that those who did answer my calls did not care that my dog was literally overheating. I was just about to shave my dog like a sheep with one of those wool coats on until Mel answered the phone. She immediately asked me to send a couple pictures and explained that he needed his undercoat taken care of and that shaving my dog was a bad idea because the sun was strong and would do more harm than good because the coat actually helped against the sunlight. She was busy but managed to squeeze me in that week because she cared about my dog. How do I know she cared? Because she called a friend of hers at Petco to see if they could take him within 24 hours to at least alleviate some of his overheating issues for the time being. Outstanding. I love my dog like he is my own flesh and blood. I'm picky about everything he eats down to who babysits him. Sure, some might say I have issues but I want the best for my dog. And one of the best groomers that I had ever experienced is here in Hawaii at All Dogs Grooming. read more

It's hard to find a good groomer that you'll continue to go to forever, well I think I just found one! Melissa is THE BEST. My malamute/husky needed a wash, brush, & nail trim. Some places don't even take bigger dogs and the other places I've tried I haven't really loved. I made the appt with Melissa through yelp, however I had to text her because I had to send pictures of my dogs fur. Anyway, our appt was at 2:30 and we ended up picking her up around 6:30. I felt so bad because I know she closes at 5. Anyway, she did such a great job and she is SUPER knowledgeable. Malamutes have fur for days, so when I tell you she put in work, boy did she. She then talked to us about bringing our dog that isn't so good at groomers/vets. She said she actually loves to take in the hard ones. Mind you, our 70/80lb dog Gomi (half Rottweiler/ half Chow Chow) is not the friendliest and he hates getting his nails cut. I texted her to make an appt and she told me I could bring him in the next day. So we did. She let us stay and help her with him, which was GREAT. Normally at the vet he poops and pees, but today he didn't do any! He also seemed ok with her, meaning he didn't growl or anything. If I could give All Dogs Grooming Honolulu 10 stars, I seriously would! Owner and "Jedi Master Doggy Groomer" Melissa is absolutely BOMB DOT COM! She took care of my baby boy Honey, an 11 month young Shih Tzu from the moment we walked in the door for the first time, to the final moment heading out. Speaking of in and out, we made an appointment last week for 9am, where she estimated it would take about 2 hours. So I left Honey at the shop. Well, it ended up he wasn't pau grooming until about 3pm. Why? Because the shop had some "down time", Melissa went above and beyond the call of duty and spent HOURS meticulously taking knots out of Honey's rather thin-stranded fur/hair on his tiny 4 legs. This, in an effort to save the fur/hair, which is what I wanted. Which to note, she originally said she'd have to shave all that fur/hair off, since it was still his "puppy fur", and was pretty darned knotted/clumped up in a few spots. That being said, I was hoping he wasn't going to get the full buzz cut treatment, as I grew out his fur/hair long so that he would look like what a true Shih Tzu should look like. Well, ended up, she saved the fur/hair length on his legs, with the end result being exactly what I wanted him to look like based on photos of other groomed Shih Tzus I referred to off the web. Nice! The end result was nothing but AMAZING! Honey looked exactly what I wanted and hoped for, being as close to those groomed Shih Tzus I referred to from web photos. To top that off, "Master Jedi Puppy Groomer" Melissa gave me a complimentary professional groomers comb made out of solid aluminum, which I tell you, is a MUST if you have a long haired dog such as a Shih Tzu, or say a Maltese, Pomeranian or "Yorkie". Bomb dot com Shih Tzu grooming comb! Your puppy should never have knots again! She also thoroughly went over every detail of what she did, pointing out how she manually plucked hair out of Honey's sensitive puppy ears, trimmed his nails and shaved his "nether regions", noting there were some red spots from the buzzer/razor. With that, she also provided a small container of special talcum powder to treat those tender red spots for the time being until they healed, which by now has done so. Melissa also took lots of time before grooming Honey to go over exactly what I wanted him to look like, and how closely she could come to achieve those results. She pointed out that he may or may not look exactly like that "today", however noting that over time he will. Well, turned out all the time it took was a session with her for that day! Being only 11 months old, I let his puppy fur/hair completely grow out wildly, this was Honey's very first time to a groomer, and I most definitely plan to make All Dogs Grooming Honolulu his regular place for that! In fact already have plans for a maintenance/update visit next month. All Dogs Grooming is located in the King Kalakaua Bldg. at the mauka end of Kalakaua Avenue (way up from Waikiki), just before you turn onto Beretania Street, adjacent to where the former Foodland was / right across the storage facility. There should be enough metered street parking right in front of the street level shop if you go early. Speaking of shop, it's very clean and professional and up to sanitary standards. Final word? They say first impressions are what lasts and matters most, and I am most definitely SOLD! If your dog needs grooming, look no further than All Dogs Grooming Honolulu. Could not recommend this salon enough! We brought in our 5 month golden doodle for his 2nd nail trim (1st time was at the vet) and he is a very dramatic guy. Despite us being a walk in, Melissa was so patient and worked with us to calm him down and get him used to the dremel and the table. She really tried to show him that everything was ok. He was a ball of chaos but she managed to cut his nails!!! We are so appreciative of you!!! All of the other dogs seemed so happy and comfortable with her too! I never heard back from her until 8:43p last night, May 31st. She said that she was short staffed and had to make a decision regarding taking on a new client.
