The owner, Julia is always quick to respond to my emails, which was super helpful when I was extremely busy trying to do literally five things at the same time. While our kitties were there, she sent us reports in text with photos of our kitties. It was really nice to know/see that our kitties were being taken care of. We looked at the same reports again and again since we missed our kitties so much. :) Julia seems to be very knowledgeable about cat behaviors and gave us good advice when we picked them up. Since everything went so smoothly, we actually came back again for cat daycare three days after the boarding. When we picked them up, it was before their pick-up/drop-off hours, but Julia was so nice and flexible; she let us pick them up early. Their website was easy to use. You can enter your pet's information into the system in advance uploading vaccination records and make reservations for day care/boarding. I would definitely recommend Second Home Boarding!!

We went to a couple of places, one even where you can watch on an app that was closer to us, but when we went to visit the place, we did not like the "vibe" of the place. When we took a tour (just call, and they will let you take a look at the facility before hand) of Paws Landing, we immediately felt great! We had our puppy for an half day "evaluation" with Durenda, which also made us feel at ease. She is marvelous!!! When we picked her up from that, she went over everything she did, and how she thought our puppy would do. They had her in a small yard first and let our puppy feel safe before they had her with the other dogs. I really like too, how they have the dogs separated into "small dogs", " large dogs" and "very active dogs". She has a great team working with her, watching over them, and most importantly taking care of them all day. They will always send you a text and email to confirm your reservation, which is great. They go inside and outside to play all day. If they go "all day" they will get a 2-hour rest, so they get a break from all the fun! But, believe me, when you pick your dog, they will be tired when they get home, which is "good thing"! Pam will send you pictures later via text of your dog, which is great to see at the end of the day. Now, that my dog has gone for awhile, she gets excited when we get there, and she is excited to see Pam and her team when I drop her off. Look no further for a great place for "doggy day care", Pam and her team will take VERY GOOD care of them, like they were one of their own!!!

What truly warmed my heart was seeing my pups, Koda and Lexi, so excited to go in. At other facilities, they would always pull away, but this time they happily followed the staff without even looking back. The daily pictures and updates were such a special touch, and I looked forward to them every day. Seeing them playing, relaxed, and happy gave me such peace of mind. It's clear the staff truly cares about the animals they look after. When I picked them up, there was no anxiety or stress at all, just two happy pups who clearly had a great time. Knowing they are in a safe environment with staff on-site 24 hours a day makes traveling so much easier now. Their level of care and professionalism is rare and deeply appreciated. On his walk, he had a new spring in his step (he's usually stiff after sleeping most of the day) and was focused and eager to move forward. He typically barks at strangers, but this time showed no interest--and dare I say, he even seemed better trained. At home, he wasn't food-focused in his behavior, and I truly believe he thinks he's still going to get the same level of activity and stimulation he enjoyed at Dogtopia. One of the best parts of his time there is the professional, supervised interaction with other dogs his own size. I never second-guess taking him to Dogtopia. The results speak for themselves.

In fact, I did not know that there were so many dog toys. In fact, momentarily I was paralyzed with fear of making a decision. After exploring some possibilities, I decided to defer my decision until I looked at one more place. Mud puppies also offers Playcare, just like day care for children but for dogs in addition to pet grooming and boarding. The team works with each dog's unique personality. Based on my interactions with the staff, I would feel comfortable leaving a dog with them.

We have 2 anxious boys who have different needs: one needs his naps and alone time, while the other needs to be with less aggressive dogs. A few notes: one day of daycare runs for about $26 (per dog), the location is located in an inconspicuous location, & in addition to the usual spay/neuter requirements, a quick release collar and nametag must be on your pups upon entry.

Dr. Rob walked me through his treatment rationale. We had a real discussion about the best course of treatment instead of the typical take-it-or-leave-it approach you get at most facilities. Unlike some of our experiences with other veterinarians in Austin, we never feel rushed. We truly appreciate the care and attention he gives to both us and our cat Reishi. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian. We truly hope we can find a clinic as wonderful as ATX Animal Clinic. It is the best veterinary clinic we have ever had, and we are incredibly grateful to Dr. Rob and the entire team.

Since I'm new to this, I was looking forward to asking the "experts" a few questions. Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared the moment I walked in. As soon as I entered, the older gentleman behind the counter looked directly at me and then immediately turned away without saying a word. He wasn't helping anyone at the time. I walked around the store for a while and noticed a young woman cleaning items nearby. Not once did she greet me or ask if I needed help. When I was looking at the driftwood display, she walked by, so I asked a question. She gave me what felt like a dirty look, gave a very quick answer, and walked away. I initially thought maybe she was busy helping other customers, but that didn't seem to be the case. What made the experience worse was what happened next. While I was still browsing near the entrance, several other customers walked in. Every single one of them was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I hate to even bring this up, but it left me wondering why my experience was so different. I'm a Hispanic male with tattoos, and every other customer who was greeted appeared to be white with no visible tattoos. I truly hope that wasn't the reason, but I honestly can't think of another explanation for the difference in treatment. Either way, it was disappointing. I had specifically chosen to visit a local specialty shop because I wanted the advice and expertise that comes with it. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and will likely just go to a big box store instead--something I was hoping to avoid. I hope this isn't the normal experience for customers, but it was certainly mine today.

From the second we arrived, Dr. Pearson and the entire care team--Megan, Ethan, and Nicole (the CEC)--were absolutely incredible. They provided top-tier medical care for our girl, but what I appreciated most was how they handled my wife and me. We were in a total state of panic, and they stayed calm, kept us informed, and treated us with so much empathy. It's rare to find a team that can balance high-level emergency medicine with such genuine bedside manner. Dr. Pearson is a total pro, and the nursing staff made us feel like our pup was their only priority. If you're in the Austin area and find yourself in a pet emergency, this is the only place I'd trust.

I wish the online appointment system had up to date availability instead of sending rejection emails out later. Also the times for pickup and drop off on Saturday are at specific times. I was a little annoyed that I had to wait until 4pm instead of being able to pick him up at 330-345 which would had made my life a little easier. I plan to bring my puppy back. They offer packages with a small discount deal.

I filled out an online form, giving details about her and our family dynamics. She is generally very well behaved, has an excellent pedigree, and comes from dogs of good temperament , but like any puppy, was active and jumpy/mouthy (nipping at my son), and needed training, hence the need for classes. I was contacted via telephone by Janice, who seemed frantic and distraught about my 'out of control' dog. I was told that I would need to have a PRIVATE evaluation ($150) before being allowed into a group setting. I know now, based on other reviews, that this is common for this facility. I was completely shocked, and asked why the need for a private eval, reminding her that, again, we are talking about a rambunctious PUPPY. She responded with, "Well, she IS a Dalmatian!" That was all I needed to hear to realize that my dog would not get the respect and fairness needed in order to be properly trained. I am so glad that I did not go with this facility, based on her attitude over the phone, and other reviewers experience. Unfortunately, I am still having a hard time finding a trainer that does not hold breed biases

I even took an online course, but once he got to around 50 pounds, I knew I needed expert help because he was starting to pull me over from excitement on our walks. Sean evaluated Zen's demeanor to determine the best method for controlling his reactivity to other dogs and people during our walks. He gave me advice on the best tools to use for his correction, because not all dogs are the same, nor do they respond to the same methods. Now my walks with Zen are so enjoyable. He's learned how to heel and stay beside me. I've also taught him the command "focus" that I use when we are approaching other dogs, so that he will continue looking straight ahead and not even give them his attention. Zen is my primary relationship and I needed the help of an expert to improve our connection when I couldn't figure it out on my own. Thank you, Sean!

Unfortunately, due to his age when surrendered, he lacked the essential early socialization and as time has gone on we had started to see some fear based reactivity on leash. We contacted Sean who was helpful from the very first introductory call and filled us with confidence that the issues we had seen were not unusual and some simple behavior modification and obedience training would set us on the right path. I'm pleased to say that after our course with Sean we have seen some significant improvements in Nico's behavior and now have the tools we need to continue his development. We will continue to work with Sean and would recommend him and his methods to any of our friends and family.
