I've been doing doggy daycare for some time, but decided to do the two week board and train program. I absolutely loved working with Loren the main trainer. She's is so sweet, knowledgeable and my dog responds so well. He was taken very good care of! The training is really great - I have the tools to continue to train and work at home. He's listening so well and I'm excited to take him out more.

We love bringing our boy here for boarding when we're gone for a trip! Any of the Taurus locations are great, but Burnet has amazing service. I love that they offer grooming services too, we got a full groom added on and Alana did an amazing job with the haircut. The staff here is super communicative and my dog happily trots inside when we drop him off. It's a great peace of mind knowing he's well taken care of.

Literal tears. Biscotti has done a few "board and trains" at Taurus and we think it's a great value. The extra attention is honestly what we're paying for and being a better dog is just a bonus. The board and train comes with three "in home" visits after you do the boarding and we were most recently with trainer Loren. (Love her!) Well after our visit, our pup came down with IVDD (degenerative disease) which was emotionally devastating. Going from being a spry pup to not being able to use her hind legs overnight ... it's a doozy. She went into emergency surgery over at AVES and it looks like she'll make a major, if not full, recovery. While Biscotti was recovering we had to cancel our training appointment. Soon after we received the sweetest "get well soon" card from everyone at Taurus Burnet. During some of our darkest days, a simple card was a shining beacon of joy and goodness. The messages were super sweet and we all cried big alligator tears (a few times). It wasn't expected, wasn't required, but personal touches like that really make a big difference. Taurus will forever be our first call when it comes to puppy care.

    Ball time!

Just going to pop in and obnoxiously love on our friends at Taurus again. Lightning Bug stayed with them again this Easter, and they now offer the opportunity for boarding dogs to purchase some one-on-one time with balls or games of tug. It was a hard trip, and getting a little report card about how much our dog loved ball time (I know) and tug time (oh gosh) just made me feel so grateful to have Taurus on our team. Knowing that there's someone praising, loving, and caring for him when we have to be away is everything. Also, I too would describe his demeanor as "whooo-hooo."

Taurus loves our pup Izzy! We brought her to Taurus to get her some healthy structured socialization. Their positive approach in training has made a world of difference. We are now play day members and Izzy has become a different dog for the best. -Charlene

After boarding our dog here for three nights, I went to go pick him up to bring him home. Only after asking the gal at the front desk how he did for the weekend she let me know he had given himself a pretty big gash from "flipping up his dog bowl" and asked assumingely if he did this at home as well. After I told her no, he definitely did not, and she suggested he needed medication to be boarded. We have boarded our dog at other places such as The Pet Ranch and he has never had this issue and he always comes safe and happy. We are so sad we picked up our sweet energetic dog with such a wound. We won't be returning here again.

Transformative Online Training, Truly Beyond Words!…read more We are so grateful for Allegra and her incredible online training program. We took in two stray dogs who were wild, anxious, and completely untrusting. We weren't sure where to begin and it was chaotic for us, until we found her. Through her online courses and virtual sessions, she helped guide us step by step with patience, wisdom, and a technique that honestly goes beyond words. Even though we never met in person, her presence and deep understanding of animal behavior came through in every interaction. With her support, our dogs have started to trust us, calm down, and settle into their new life. The change has been remarkable. It feels like a miracle to see them open up and begin to feel safe and loved. If you're dealing with fearful or reactive dogs, do not hesitate to work with Allegra. Her approach is compassionate, intuitive, and truly life-changing. Thank you, Allegra, so much!!

It's much more wide ranging than training that's only focused on commands like sit/stay/down/etc (though you can work on all of those with the Naked Dog's programs too). Before we signed up for the group training series, I was at my wit's end with our recently adopted dog. He had a lot of behavioral issues, ranging from chewing things in the house, overall excitability, constant attempts to eat pecans and, worse, trash on walks (and often succeeding despite our best efforts & requiring steady doses of probiotics and even a vet visit to induce vomiting), and lunging on leash at dogs and passing vehicles. We also noticed that when we took him to the dog park, he'd play really rambunctiously and generally go 0-60, including running and body checking other dogs (not the best strategy for harmonious playing). The great part about this series is that it's three in-person sessions (we added a fourth for some additional coaching) and the rest is a series of online lessons. This made it easy for us to work through at our own pace. In the online portion, the end of every lesson included video homework that we'd send in and get feedback from one of the Naked Dog trainers -- this was great because it captured us applying these skills in a total real world setting, without the presence of a trainer to coach us or influence our dog to be on his best behavior. Fast forward a couple months, and now we feel confident that we can handle any situation with our dog, including taking him to busy and distracting environments and responding to misbehavior. He's mellowed out so much -- he isn't perfect, but it feels like we've reached an understanding. He went from my problem child to my sidekick. He can walk in a heel, he comes when called, and will wait at the door before we say he can come in. It feels like he's looking to us as leaders and that he's truly settled in as part of our family. We followed the Naked Dog's recommendations for introducing dogs for the first time when we took him over to a friend's house to meet their dogs, and they remarked on what a good dog he is, and that he's better behaved than other dogs they've petsitted, so now we have a worry-free petsitting option. I also now take him by our neighborhood park on walks and let him meet other dogs, which used to be a wild activity full of leash pulling and jumping. The Naked Dog taught us what to look for in reading dogs' behavior so that we can spot polite vs rude behavior and manage their interactions before they start getting too wild, which is a truly priceless part of this training seminar.

The owner does need to be diligent with taking their dog to the trainings (we kind of fell off at the end but it was okay) but as long as you stick with it, your dog will learn new skills and will be better behaved than before. We can do things in the front yard and have her stay in the garage and she won't run after other dogs that walk by or other other people or children. She has learned to stay in her place for as long as we need her to be. However, the two 30 minute to 45 minutes training sessions were supposed to be 1hour sessions but we're cut short because other customers were arriving. We did not have enough time with the trainers to become skilled at reinforcing what our dogs had learned. We did get written instructions and email instructions. But for the price, I thought we would get more thorough training. The owner Lisa is knowledgeable and nice. Austin, her son, answers the phone he is also very nice. Leaving my dogs at their facility was stressful. I was told I would have communication and pictures or videos daily. What they didn't tell me is the pictures our poses and videos that match canned statements, not real communication about my dog and only once daily. I was given the direct phone number of the owner but couldn't reach her until three or four calls were made. I felt upset that I couldn't determine my dogs well-being from the poses and the canned comments that were generic to every dog. It was upsetting waiting for a callback. I couldn't visit my dogs while they were boarded for training and one of the pictures they looked very stressed. So I was upset by the time. I finally got a callback. The owner Lisa was helpful when she called back. I did get more personal interaction from the trainers. After speaking with Lisa. When I had a scheduling issue, she was also accommodating. My issue is when we got our dogs home we were not trained to reinforce what they had learned. We are not trained to get the results we saw when we picked up the dogs from boarding training. Then there are the group classes. They last for six months. I had terrible health problems for two months and could not attend and they will only allow me one month credit even though I offered MD proof that I was sick. So two months later, our two, very reactive Frenchies in tow, we were late to class and exhausted due to late night, long flight delays. I called talked to Austin told him we would be 36 minutes late.. He said no problem come on in, we will take care of you when you arrive. After a 45 minute drive , we arrived and employee Jerry was very rude. Turned us away and said "I don't know what to tell you, class is over why are you here"? I explained what Austin had said, Jerry said again. "I don't know what to tell you class is over" and shrugged. I called Austin back, he said "I don't know what to say, sorry come back next week". Even though we arrived at the exact time, I told Austin we would arrive. I expect better customer service for $6,000. The sales pitch I was given, led me to believe they would be very present knowledgeable, and helpful. that has not consistently been our experience. We attended class today and were pleasantly surprised. Lisa was teaching and it was a good class. We went over the basics of what they had taught our dogs and how to do it at a very basic level. I feel like I should've had today's training and several other training sessions during the time my dogs were being boarded and trained. There would've been more value in boarding them if I was better equipped to deal with them when they got home.
