The sauce lacked a ton of flavor and spice, which is weird for Indian food. Saag paneer - only 4 cubes of cheese in the entire dish. Sauce was runny and was also bland. Garlic naan - I didn't know you could mess up this dish. It was all soft with no crunch at all on the edges. Overall we won't be returning. Decided to stop by on a Sunday night & although it was slightly busy, we scored the comfy floor seats for the full experience. Seats were so comfy I wanted to take a nap. My friends had veggie biryani & spicy chicken masala. Both were great. The spicy masala got to me. Cleared my sinuses in all the right ways. The cream on the biryani kept that tamed at bay. I had the chicken makhni with medium spice and white rice. I was hoping to have leftovers...nope. This dish was so good, it deserved to be devoured. I'll be coming back. I visited a friend in Glendale whom became vegetarian for some time now and has a fondness for Indian non-meat dishes. He was craving for Indian and took me to this place, my first time here. There's not much to offer in Glendale and if you're not Indian, you may not know what's good and what's not. I've eaten a lot of Indian and I can pretty much attest the fact that I do know enough about Indian food, and also of various regions. Needless to say I was never a fan of the food from All India Cafe as I have eaten at other locations from the past since the early 2000s and has stopped patronizing around the same time. I ordered the same lunch special (chicken curry) which I had before at Pasadena (c. 2003) and the food is still mediocre at best. Since Yelp wasn't a thing in the past during that time, let me just chime in now...I basically relived the whole bad experience again. The chicken curry was extremely watery and very bland as usual, and again, watered-down like how I remembered it. For over $11 it came with three small samples, the chicken curry, a dal, chopped romaine leaves with no dressing, and plain naan. Sounds like quite a few but it was minuscule and did not satisfy my appetite. A joke of what you pay for and surely a major letdown to your palate! Service was cold. The owner was attentive but the young lady (the daughter?) needs major lessons on how to work/service in a professional environment. She was a complete turn-off for me. There are many great northern-style Indian which serves similar lunch specials. If you want delicious food, give Bhanu a visit (you will not regret it). But that not menu items here. That's okay because I don't hold down beans anymore even cravings kick-in. So it was for the best. It a very modern cafe with Frankie Rolls. That's an egg crepe eaten mainly at lunchtime that rolled with lamb, chicken, and/or curry cauliflower-potatoes. Also, they carry things like bhel puri and chaats. I would recommend doing this since this was the best way to enjoy a variety of items from their menu! My favorite item was the chicken tikki masala. The sauce was so creamy and flavorful. I tried this restaurant because I was nearby and I didn't expect a new food obsession but WOW. I am constantly thinking of the warm buttery naan and the flavorful food. I've only gotten to go and then I finish my food and I wish I would have ordered more things. I'm going to come back and dine in because the food will probably be even better. I don't know what they're putting in this food but I'm addicted. The prices are great for the area, the aromas when you first walk in are just mmm....I can't even describe it. The soup was just watery tasteless broth when it was suppose to be vegetables. If we could give this Restaurant a zero we would. We purchased two small entrees portions of Indian Food for $60.00 including tip on 2/12/21 at around 7:30 PM. The best and most honest description of the food could be summed up in two words, it sucked" if that wasn't bad enough my wife and I became very sick after consuming less than half of the food. We were discouraged from going to the urgent care or emergency room at Kaiser PERMANENTE due to COVID 19 concerns so we had to endure severe cramps and other less desirable effects I will not mention here. Our favorite food happens to be Indian food. Being sensitive to today's climate for struggling restaurants I called the restaurant to talk to the Owner ( whose name I won't mention here) the person I spoke to talked over me and attempted to dismiss my wife and I becoming ill due to our (assumed to be) lack of tolerance to Indian spices. Did I mention our favorite food is Indian? Save your money go somewhere else. Disgraceful, and terrible! I hope I'm not being vague. I would like to end my review with a funny Woody Allen joke; "There's an old joke - um... two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." Hello, I'm writing to ask that the reviews for a restaurant in my area be reviewed. The restaurant is All India Cafe in Glendale California. They have 4.5 star on Yelp and l've literally never had more disgusting food. There's no way all those 5 star reviews are real. After digging into the reviews I found people complaining of the same issue, going because of the yelp reviews and getting 1 star quality food. In my situation I ordered take out, i ordered the tandoori which had no tandoori seasoning, it looked like baked chicken, and bland baked chicken. We also got the lamb vindaloo, the lamb was tough and tasted nothing like Indian food, no spice just bland and watery. The naan was under cooked and doughy and the rice was bland and tasteless. I reached out to the restaurant and they promised to send us a gift card because they delivered to us. I asked them to come back and pick up the food because we didn't want it but they said they would mail us a gift card instead. I'm hoping it will be a visa gift card because we don't want to eat here again. I can't imagine anyone actually eating this food and giving it 5 stars, they must be offering incentives for good reviews or something is going on here. I'm a big user of yelp and this is the first time I've ever been led so astray by yelp reviews.
